To be fair a lot of them are saying, 2 from - Berbatov/Hernandez/Owen/Rooney,

Yes they will rest players, but I get the impression they dont think it'll just be turn up smash us 6-0 and go home.

No i bet hlaf of them beg nearly a whole team of changes and a first start for an inexperienced goal keeper every week...

Many Saints fans want to field a weakened side. Does that mean they expect Saints to beat Man Utd easily?

"Everybody is excited to play against them, all the players, everyone in Southampton, but the manager may decide to rest one or two players because we have the Tuesday game.

"This is not our first target, but it's a game we're going to fight in to win, it's on our pitch, it's a big game on TV everyone is going to watch Southampton against Manchester United, so we're going to see what our level is and what we're going to do against a big team.

"We will see what will happen after that, because the Tuesday game against Exeter is more important for us at this time."

Does that mean he's been dropped and he's seeing it as him being 'rested'

strange that we played both Martin and Seaborne then yesterday. Mind you they both perhaps needed a game to sharpen them up.

Southampton v Man Utd (1715 GMT)

Nigel Adkins has done a great job since taking charge of Southampton in September. They had a blip at Tranmere on Saturday but I'm told Rovers are a bit of a bogey team for them, and they have been going really well in League One otherwise.

Saints have got loads of goals in their side, and they turned Blackpool over in the last round, but I think they should just try to enjoy their big day against United rather than hoping too much for a repeat result.

Yes, Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson will probably change his team around, especially because they have got another midweek Premier League game against Aston Villa on Tuesday, but they should still be too strong for Southampton.

Prediction: 0-2

Lawros prediction on the Beeb website.

Just watched that Adkins interview as well - disgusted by the press that are never there who have suddenly turned up now we're playing Man United, all clamouring and cutting each other off to get a word in, putting words into Adkins mouth about Chamberlain. F*ck off you leechs.

Just watched Adkins interview on SaintsPlayer, and he confirmed that Lallana wouldnt be involved, gutted.

You'd be more gutted if he got stretchered off on Saturday and was out til August!

The game will be showed on terrestrial TV in Germany tomorrow!!!!..Luckily i've had plenty of practise in taking abuse from germans for me supporting a ****ty team last summer so I dont mind what the score is just happy to see SMS on TV over here!

We'll win 4-0 anyways though.

Awesome to watch ! And I did notice OWTSGMI at a decent speed !

Bit disappointing its only part of the programme.....

I know. I thought there was something wrong with my browser as the ads at the end say 1 of 2 but not so. Not even on youtube either.

So funny watching charlton sat there playing with a piece of thread and looking like he's about to fall asleep! lol

4-0 United. Especially if they just cotton on to the fact that our keeper can't do anything near the six yard box.

Sir Alex says he will be taking a strong squad to St Mary’s for the FA Cup fourth round tie against Southampton despite being without a handful of first team regulars.

If that **** Holloway had said something similar, he could have saved Blackpool 25 Grand

evra and rafael not featuring so may be a good opportunity for us to use pace in the wide areas though Dickson and Ox. Unless Carrick plays then I don't think we will get much joy through the middle ! Shame Lallana not fit I would of loved seeing him play against a top team like united.

SSN reports Ferdinand wont be playing either be that new keeper Anders Lindegaard could make his debut. That little bit of hope inside me is foolishly growing. "DODGY KEEPER!"

SPORT1, used to be DSF

YES !!!! RESULT!!!

I was out of the country for 2 weeks earlier this month and it was hard enough not being able to go to games. I can imagine what it's like not being able to see any unless they're on TV (hardly ever), so enjoy the game.

Did you ever sign up to Saints Player to watch the highlights and listen to the games? It's well worth the money for the extended highlights and interviews etc.

I thought about it, but come match day there are so many complaints on here I decided to give it a miss. I keep reconsidering and coming to the same conclusion.
