It'll be crap just like all re-incarnations of once good programmes.

Possibly; I will reserve judgement until I see it. They've had enough time to get decent material together.

I was somewhat dissapointed with Back to Earth; too much plagarising of Blade Runner for my liking.

I must admit that I was disappointed with the last proper series although I love the programme. I saw Craig Charles in the Vine in Bursledon 4 or 5 years ago and at that time he said that they were going to Australia the following year to make a BD feature film. Don`t know if this is still going to happen though.

Failed to secure the funding, the actors moved on to other things.

Anything's better than the crap that's on now.

(Wasn't the quote from Blackadder?) Edit: no, of course it wasn't. I really must wake up earlier.

Bringing back a once great tv show is a bad move (just look at ofah) The writers and actors need a few quid and they know its gonna be a ratings winner no matter how bad it is.

I don't intend to watch it, but will be posting regularly on the merits of the new series, based on reading other peoples posts about it...

You'll be saying next, people do this with Saints games....................;)

Crack and pornography addiction?

Closet Saints fan is Craig Charles, saw him at St Mary's a few times and round and about the local pubs in Hamble and Bursledon before he moved back up north. Presents a quality funk and soul show on 6Music too.

I'm making no comment on a new series of Red Dwarf though as I never really liked it anyway.

Series 1-6 - Brilliant beyond all comparison.

Series 7 - pretty poor but still a lot better than most of the dross comedy on TV at the time

Series 8 - Big improvement on series 7 (due to return of Rimmer) but still not a patch on earlier series.

Back to Earth - Just.... why?

Craig Charles has been quoted as saying "We’ve gotta recapture the highlights like series 5 series six, that kind of stuff. If we can hit that mark then brilliant. There’s no point doing it if it’s a bit so-so." But I'm still not holding my breath on it being anything like as good as it was.

And even if they had great material, it's still somewhat depressing seeing them all old! Still, worth a watch.

Yeah, seeing Chris Barrie's receeding hairline in Back to Earth was a bit of a shock. Suppose Robert Llewelyn has the best deal, he still looks the same with his prosthetics !

Very good, Johnny.

Are you a fan of it then ?

Woooo.

New series of Red Dwarf next year !!!

Like any good Saints fan, I'll expect the worst and hope to be pleasantly surpised
