benjii Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 Important game. Although the result against Notts County was by no means a disaster it still feels as though we need to "bounce back", as Alain Perdrix would say. We've had a week off and we've got a week until our next match so I'm hoping for a resounding full-throttle Tranny bottom-spanking. Sounds like Hammond is definitely still out so fingers crossed that Chaplow is fit. He really helps the strikers by making that extra presence in the oppo penalty area and obviously he'll give them (Tranny) a bit of a kick too. I want to see us give Tranny a good kick, as well as a bottom spanking. I wonder if Dickson and Harding will both play or will Punch keep his place? Do they have a big lump that requires the services of Jaidi or will Daniel Seaborne get a run out? We will see!!
Papa Shango Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 Wonder if that Skate will be in the crowd again like last year? We're due some luck up their. Last year we were all over them when it was 1-1 until they got the penalty. And the less said about the FA Cup replay in 2001 the better. Reckon we'll do it this time though, 0-2!
Saints67 Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 The last game in my hat-trick of games. So far I've seen 6 goals with none conceded over the last two games. Hoping for a good resounding 0-3 win.

I doubt the skate will be waving his flag about again after getting a slap outside the ground after the game last year. I really hope we put on a performance would love to win there after the last two trips, hopefully we will have a decent following up there, looking forward to it.

Lets hope we see a repeat of the Oldham result - not being greedy or anything like, but receiving a text evey few mins with news of another goal would brighten up my train and bus journey to Heathrow as I head back to what is at the moment a wet and overcast Dubai Ps We will see
thefunkygibbons Posted 21 January, 2011 Posted 21 January, 2011 I am sure that some of our rivals will slip up from time to time A win for us and lets see what the others do
hutch Posted 21 January, 2011 Posted 21 January, 2011 2-2. Think Tranmere will be well up for it. I also for some reason think away games at worse teams are more difficult on a saturday afternoon. I have no evidence to back this up and it's almost certainly bol locks. I'm sure we'll create lots of chances, just depends if our finishing boots are on. Want to see a good performance from Puncheon. Nah, our nemeses are small league grounds on bleak Tuesday nights in mid-winter. FACT. We'll be fine on Saturday.
Window Cleaner Posted 21 January, 2011 Posted 21 January, 2011 Ok I'll have a stab at the team and score then. Team: Exactly the same as that which started the game last week; although Chappers didn't seem to participate in the match part of the training video. Score; 2-0 for us.
eelpie Posted 21 January, 2011 Posted 21 January, 2011 Succeeding against teams that we failed against last year is crucial now. Can't say more than that. No pressure, Nigel and team. Just do it.
Weston Saint Posted 21 January, 2011 Posted 21 January, 2011 Historical record against Tranmere at their place Won 1 Drew 1 Lost 4. Time to improve that record

For the sake of an inch I'd much rather keep Richardson in the team, who I think is very solid, more so than Butterfield. Especially when you consider that Tranmere's main attacking threat comes from the left wing in Dale Jennings. If Chaplow and Hammond are both injured we may see Puncheon in the middle with Harding Lb and Dickson Lm.

niceandfriendly Posted 21 January, 2011 Posted 21 January, 2011 Will be my third away game of the season, hoping the long journey is worth it. Travelling half way tonight though which'll make it less hassle. If anyone is ummming and arrring about whether to make the journey, you know you want to. You'll regret it if (when) we win 3-1.
corky morris Posted 21 January, 2011 Posted 21 January, 2011 My 4 year olds first away game! 3 things we want differently than last season, 1. A decent referee 2. The **** head in the fish ****ing shirt does not turn up 3. We win I am confident of a win!!
Sour Mash Posted 21 January, 2011 Posted 21 January, 2011 Been to Tranmere twice and had two s***te trips, here's to a third time lucky. Going to be a tough game and we will miss Lallana, just depends how much. If we're as good as we think we are and serious about going up this year, we'll grind out a result. I fancy a 2-1 win, rare scoreline for us these days.
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 21 January, 2011 Posted 21 January, 2011 Just had to get in before Alps did... COYS, let's do it this year.
bender Posted 21 January, 2011 Posted 21 January, 2011 Even without Lallana, we should win this if were the team we think we are. Tranmere are struggling this season.
dickyhale Posted 21 January, 2011 Posted 21 January, 2011 (edited) I don't believe we'd have been 3rd under Pardew. I know we'd have technically been higher without the -10, but each time they could have got into the top 6, they bottled it. The -10 was irrelevant when you're 3 or 4 points off the playoffs and have a winnable game you then fck up. If we are to gain promotion this season this is the sort of game we need to go and win. Look at last year we went there on the Saturday and lost 3-1 Leeds went there on the Tuesday and won 4-1 Edited 21 January, 2011 by dickyhale
West End Saint Posted 21 January, 2011 Posted 21 January, 2011 All the games are important but it is vital to get back to winning ways a nice 3 points may well see us back into 2nd & keeps the pressure on Lallana will be a big miss but we should have enough I have been very impressed at our defending of late and would take a 1 or 2 nil please. COYS lets make this our season
JustMike Posted 21 January, 2011 Posted 21 January, 2011 bet too soon, this? unless we have already played it and won and i missed it some how!
Appy Posted 21 January, 2011 Posted 21 January, 2011 I think Lallana might be on the bench. Just a hunch, not ITK.

Dalek2003 Posted 21 January, 2011 Posted 21 January, 2011 Always nervous about plying Tranmere, ever since their very lucky win in the FACUP. Still it did signal the beginning of one of our best premiership run of wins. Yes, those were the days.
georgeweahscousin Posted 21 January, 2011 Posted 21 January, 2011 Would like to see:- Davis Richardson Fonte Jaidi Dickson AOC Schneiderlin Chaplow Puncheon Guly Lambert

We were 3-0 up at half time, poor management from our manager at the time i would imagine, rather than luck.
Dalek2003 Posted 21 January, 2011 Posted 21 January, 2011 We were 3-0 up at half time, poor management from our manager at the time i would imagine, rather than luck. Yep, made a mistake that evening, but the players responded with a great win, taking us up to 6th in the Premiership !!!
Appy Posted 21 January, 2011 Posted 21 January, 2011 Yep, made a mistake that evening, but the players responded with a great win, taking us up to 6th in the Premiership !!! Wow you really are sad.
captainchris Posted 21 January, 2011 Posted 21 January, 2011 Would like to see:- Davis Richardson Fonte Jaidi Dickson AOC Schneiderlin Chaplow Puncheon Guly Lambert Not sure what Harding has done wrong lately. Harding at LB and Dickson at Left Mid. Punch as kit man...........where he can play in his comfort zone all neat and tidy!
alehouseboys Posted 21 January, 2011 Posted 21 January, 2011 Yep, made a mistake that evening, but the players responded with a great win, taking us up to 6th in the Premiership and then the two-faced c*** went and f***ed off to WHL the dirty b****** Come on Dalek, that's not like you.

Not sure I want Puncheon in the starting lineup either, but feel we would lose something with a left back there.
Sour Mash Posted 21 January, 2011 Posted 21 January, 2011 I think Lallana might be on the bench. Just a hunch, not ITK. Sound. Any hunchs on Chaplow?
Appy Posted 21 January, 2011 Posted 21 January, 2011 Sound. Any hunchs on Chaplow? The Echo and BBC seem to think he is fit. The OS only mentioned Hammond.
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 21 January, 2011 Posted 21 January, 2011 Really important game. NA has to drill into the players that have to perform tomorrow and we MUST win. Can't have any passengers in the side not wanting to pick up a knock and miss the Man U game. COYS.
Windmill Arm 2 Posted 21 January, 2011 Posted 21 January, 2011 Lallana will come off the bench and score the winner (In my wildest dreams)
thorpie the sinner Posted 21 January, 2011 Posted 21 January, 2011 I have got that horrible gut feeling we may buy someone at 1133 tonight, mmm!!!!!! don't you hate it when that happens?
thorpie the sinner Posted 21 January, 2011 Posted 21 January, 2011 too late for tomorrow I know, just have a feeling we are going to have at least one more Fonte moment1
