Tractor_Saint Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 Just got a text message from Twitter with the same "officialsaints: Keep your eyes on http://www.saintsfc.co.uk - announcement coming up in the next 5 mins #saintsfc" Oooooooooooo
St.Patrik Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 Its Guly on 2 1/2 year contract http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2271412,00.html
buctootim Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 Hopefully good news, otherwise they wouldnt trail it like this
alpine_saint Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 Excellent news !! Done well after a slow start.
thorpie the sinner Posted 20 January, 2011 Author Posted 20 January, 2011 Have to say, very pleased with that!!
Nexstar Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 Didn't make a great deal of fans in his first couple of months at the club, but in the last 6 weeks or so has really adapted to the English game and scored some cracking goals. I reckon he could do well in the Championship
trousers Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 2 down, 1 to go..... (yes, yes.....I know Chamberlain is already under contract but you know what I mean.....)
merrimd Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 First interview in english as well so fair play to him for that (Tevez still cant speak english!)
Wallington Saint Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 Great News! Hope he keeps his current form, and doesn't drop off with the contract in the bag a la Saganowski.
Saint_clark Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 Excellent news. Once he settled in he proved he was very good. He's even playing out of position at the mo.
Bucks Saint Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 Get in - very happy with that. Improved significantly and think there is quite a bit more to come from him. Good work NC
ssaints Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 Apparently we beat a few Serie A clubs to the signing. Again to me good signing can play in the Championship well done SFC! I think the fee of £1m was agreed in the loan contract as an option.
S-Clarke Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 I think he's a class player and a top signing, slow start as you'd expect from a player not used to the english game but he's slowly developing into one of our key men. His movement and touch at times is of a higher level. I reckon he could even do a job for a prem. team in the right environment.
saintjay77 Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 Brilliant. Still wonder if we will see any new faces in this window but to make sure the current squad that is doing well is going to stay together looks good. Think he will do better at a higher level too so bodes well as long as wee reach our target of promotion this year.
Window Cleaner Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 Apparently we beat a few Serie A clubs to the signing. .:lol::lol:
S-Clarke Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 Did he come in his taxi..? Nope, he cancelled it. The taxi went to pickup rory instead.
Window Cleaner Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 Nope, he cancelled it. The taxi went to pickup rory instead. the taxi went to pick up Arsenal's offer for Ox
Tokyo-Saint Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 Get in! (the building). He will be playing with a smile on his face now, giving his all to win games of football. It’s as simple as that!
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 Saints keep 1 Guly! Excellent news.
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 Get in! (the building). He will be playing with a smile on his face now, giving his all to win games of football. It’s as simple as that! Credit to him!
Viking Warrior Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 Im disappointed in this signing being done today Im so used to friday being the day we announce signings NC and NA need to explain their reasosn for announcing it to day Brilliant signing well done NA and NC
Viking Warrior Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 Guly's on the bus Guly's on the bus eee iiii addio Guly's on the bus
Window Cleaner Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 not even a mensh on SSN transfer clockwatch;, normal I suppose, according to them this has been a done deal for a fair while now. Pity LB is banned, his views on this would have been interesting (He seemed to maintain all along that it was always a done deal from the outset and than "loan" was just cosmetic).
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 Interesting that the OS says we had to fight off lots of interest from top flight Italian clubs to keep him. I wonder who?
SFC Forever Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 I think he's a class player and a top signing, slow start as you'd expect from a player not used to the english game but he's slowly developing into one of our key men. His movement and touch at times is of a higher level. I reckon he could even do a job for a prem. team in the right environment. How about the environment at St Marys's.
trousers Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 "The aim is for promotion this season and then next."
saint1977 Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 Good news, he has not only added to our goalscoring threat and makes quality runs in behind opposition back 4s which we've lacked since Waigo/Antonio but he also adds some character and fun in the same way that Waigo did which enhances our enjoyment as fans. Should continue to get better as well and clearly wants to be here. Just need one more pacy/winger striker now and that's us done until the end of the season. To add to Viking Warrior's and Shroppie's suggestions above, I think they are great but at Tranmere we could sing to 3 Lions: "Guly's on the bus, he's on the bus, he's on the bus, he's on the, Guly's on the bus..."
Chris Larkin Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 If this means that the commentator on the BBC Sport highlights will start pronouncing his name properly, rather than 'Jiuly' (as in Ludovic) then I'm all for it. In all seriousness, this is probably a good deal. He seems like a reasonable striker who can do the works at Championship level. It's a fairly short deal too, so we won't be stuck paying wages for Tommy Forecast lengths of time. If Guly makes the difference between us being getting promoted this year or not then he'll clearly be worth the money. COYR.
Foxstone Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 Another excellent piece of business to add to that of Adam and Chappers.. Well done Nicola and Nigel... Let the bus roll on....
SNSUN Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 Will be class if we make it back to the Championship. I watched Jimmy Kebe at Reading last season and Gools reminds me of him. Good signing, seems our loanees have been big hits. Bignall next.

mitch01 Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 Do we need anyone else on the bus? Can we stop bigger buses taking some of our best passengers? Can we trust our driver to take us where we want our bus to go? As long as nobody leaves the building I think we'll be ok.
Midfield_General Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 the taxi went to pick up Arsenal's offer for Ox That would require an articulated lorry (hopefully)
Chez Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 That would require an articulated lorry (hopefully) that would be DAF
