dune Posted 19 January, 2011 Share Posted 19 January, 2011 John Redwood has always been one of my favourite Conservatives because he represents the part of the party that I support because he speaks sense and isn't afraid to say it like it is. He was on the panel of last nights Newsnight and got it spot on. From 6 minutes 25 secs for the debate, but the build up story is before the debate: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00xxggd

Which is no bad thing, but why not stand for an election one day as you are obviously passionate about it?

buctootim Posted 20 January, 2011 Share Posted 20 January, 2011 (edited) You are charmingly naive in your willingness to suck up rhetoric without bothering to check if that rhetoric in any way matches reality. Dimond Geezer Posted 20 January, 2011 Share Posted 20 January, 2011 (edited) Has anyone else noticed that Dune/Stanleys latest avatar shows a “reactionary, mean-spirited, selfish, bigoted, anti-Irish, anti-Catholic, racist, misogynistic and anti-Semitic”…” with a chip on his shoulder and an angry word on everything .” (to quote Wiki). Sort of appropriate really. A character who was created as a figure of ridicule, and portrayed by a left winger, Warren Mitchell once being a paid up member of the Labour Party. I think the only difference between Dunley & Alf, is Garnett was a West Ham fan. Dunely is one of ours. Agree except the charmingly bit....for a better laugh dig out the clip where he was pretending that he knew the words to the Welsh national anthem when Welsh secretary. Soundbite politician ...intellectually lightweight...or in one word - Tory
