I know the Hereford match commentator, who is also News Editor at FourFourTwo.com. I'll see what he knows. Says QPR, Burnley, Reading, Millwall and even Everton linked. They hope to sell him and retain him on loan, though it's unlikely. I think it was Dundee who were told they couldn't sell Leigh Griffiths and then loan him straight back, as it creates an unfair advantage in the league.

Will report back if I hear anything...

He's apparently off to Crystal Palace.

No one has met Hereford's £250,000 asking price, but Lennie Lawrence has gone from Hereford to Selhurst Park today and he's believed to be trying to take Manset with him. £250,000 seems an awful lot of money if you ask me...

Especially as he is out of contract in the summer.

wicki quotes he has signed for us to, but earlier today it quoted he had signed for reading?????

wiki also says quote, "Manset signed for Southampturd FC on 21st January 2011 and was given the squad number 40. It is known he turned down an offer from Reading Bedding to become Assistant Regional Store Manager.PersonalManset’s family have a long tradition of goat farming in their home village near Metz. On signing for Hereford United Manset purchased some goats and a paddock in which to keep them to continue the family tradition in his spare time. He then drove them down to Reading in a big caravan following his move to the Royals."

Various sources are now reporting the deal to sell Mathieu Manset to Reading is worth a significant six-figure sum and will be concluded today.

One Reading source stated 'A source close to the Manset deal said that complete with add-ons - it is big deal for Hereford.' while the Hereford Times added the deal would at least match the £440,000 received for Darren Peacock with all the add-ons.

There is no loan deal involved, and the remaining players have already been told of his departure

move to Championship club Reading will be one of the biggest deals in Hereford United's history.

Sources indicate that the 13-goal striker will be signing on at the Madjeski Stadium this afternoon.

The Hereford Times understands that there is no loan deal and that Manset will be involved in Reading's home match against Hull City tomorrow.

A source close to the deal told the Hereford Times that Manset's move - complete with add-ons - would be as big, if not bigger, than the one that took Darren Peacock from Edgar Street to Queens Park Rangers

Possible formal announcement by Hereford tonight according to my chum, who describes Manset as having "Presence, power, pace and trickery"

No club still anywhere near the £250k (up front) asking price. Deal has to include a lot of add-ons and a sell-on fee. According to the local rag in those parts, Reading are favourites and have tabled a deal worth over £440k, which would be Hereford's biggest fee received in a transfer if true. It's doubtful that he'll play against Accrington Stanley tomorrow.
