saint_bert Posted 16 January, 2011 Posted 16 January, 2011 In the Northam 1st half there was an incident when about 6-8 stewerds looked to eject a fan, who appeared to be punching one of them? Anyone shed any further light on it?
Wade Garrett Posted 16 January, 2011 Posted 16 January, 2011 Yes, someone got kicked out by 6-8 stewards for punching one of them. Hope this clears a few things up for you.
saint_bert Posted 16 January, 2011 Author Posted 16 January, 2011 My main querie was what happened in the first place for that many stewerds to surround one person. **** me this place can be so antagonistic sometimes.
Saint-scooby Posted 16 January, 2011 Posted 16 January, 2011 I saw him being removed, but did not see what happened prior to his ejection..
Big John Posted 17 January, 2011 Posted 17 January, 2011 he ended up in the cells charged with possesion.
mightysaints Posted 17 January, 2011 Posted 17 January, 2011 Happend right behind me and my nipper. He was asked to sit down. He pointed to the stewards and said what about everyone else. They asked him again and he said come here and make me. They said we will so he came back and said Come here and i will knock yor f**king head off. Fair enough that he got kicked out but this could have been done and dusted with with the coppers in seconds. Most people up for trouble give it to the stewerds as they have limited powers but if a copper comes over then that usually nips it in the bud. The guys was either very drunk or on something as he looked like he was up for kicking off from the start of the game.

Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 17 January, 2011 Posted 17 January, 2011 I went to B&Q on the weekend, and an old bloke in an orange shirt came up to me and asked if I wanted decking. Luckily I got the first punch in.

Luckily I got the first punch in. Funnily enough my mate was arrested in B&Q at the weekend, he's been charged with attempted murder after attacking a man with sandpaper. Said he only intended to rough him up a bit................................
saintly Posted 17 January, 2011 Posted 17 January, 2011 Happened the row in front of me- he refused to sit down, called the female stewart a fat ***** and then threw a punch when they went in to get him.
OldNick Posted 17 January, 2011 Posted 17 January, 2011 there is no need for him to hit the stewards and it was right he was thrown out. It does irritate when we are told to sit down all the time. When Man u come their fans will not be told to sit down. I was watching the Liverpool fans on the Kop and they all were stood up the whole game and their stewards did nothing to try and make them do so. Is their health and safety different up North or is it a case we have jobsworths in charge of giving orders to our stewards? It is time the club sorted this out. Unless the club take a zero tolerance to all fans home and away sections we should be allowed to stand.

Unless the club take a zero tolerance to all fans home and away sections we should be allowed to stand. I've got mates who go regularly with various clubs and a lot of premiership clubs now have ends which stand the whole time, spurs and man city inparticular have huge areas near the away fans that stand and the stewards don't even bother to get them to sit anymore. Spurs / Newcastle / Liverpool / West Ham / Man Utd / Man City stand at every single away game now, the whole end, its strength in numbers and once the whole end is up the stewards dont even bother. I'm not surprised someone hit a steward in the northam, the way some of them speak to people they provoke it.
100%Red&White Posted 17 January, 2011 Posted 17 January, 2011 Doesn't sand paper smooth stuff? Not necessarily, depends on the grade used. Had he used a finer grit, an M2 or F2 for example, he'd no doubt be facing a lesser charge.

latter day saint Posted 17 January, 2011 Posted 17 January, 2011 I'm not surprised someone hit a steward in the northam, the way some of them speak to people they provoke it. that small blond female steward got arsey with me at the Blackpool game. all i did was warn a lad that she was watching him & looking to chuck him out. when i walked back past her she had a right moan & said she would keep an eye out for me!

That is an offence that is arrestable at a football ground, so he was on a dodgy wicket from the start
JRM Posted 17 January, 2011 Posted 17 January, 2011 bet they do not ask the mancs to sit down of course they wont. you'll still hear plenty of verses of United's new favourite song "we'll do what we want, we'll do what we want, we're man united, we'll do what we want"
saint_bert Posted 17 January, 2011 Author Posted 17 January, 2011 All in all the stewerds at SMS are tw*ts. At Notts County some people had taken our seats. Their stewerds just said go stand at the back lads. No fuss, no problem.
