Saint_Jonny Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 Meh. Point isnt the end of the world. Still got a game in hand over Huddersfield. Bring on Tranmere!
Window Cleaner Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 Can't win them all. 13 points from 15 is enough, too many games, too many injuries.
dubai_phil Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 Well, many of us saw something like that coming. Injury problems now? Chaplow off leaves us short in CM with Hammond having a calf tear, Gobern didn't do anything wrong but would not want to rely on him for a few weeks
alpine_saint Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 A bad 2 points to drop. Cant see us being consistent enough to be promoted with Lallana, Hammond and Chaplow injured, AOC or Puncheon sold, and Barnard banged up. Either NA and NC need to a second look at the transfer market, or we need to cross our fingers.
Leicestersaint Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 Sounds like a very poor performance. Disappointing
Ohio Saint Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 Disappointing, but not the end of the world. A clean sheet is always good too.
saints-cris Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 Bournemouth lost, Peterborough and sheff wed and charlton drew. Only team that I'm worried about is Huddersfield and we've got a game in hand on them. Beat Tranmere next week and it is no disaster at all.
sad saints fan Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 We won up there when we probably didnt deserve it ,so we have taken 4 points of them this season. They sounded a good team and they could well take points from our main promotion rivals. The bus has been delayed slightly.

If we don't get some good players in the best we can hope for is the playoff lottery.
Viking Saint Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 not an ideal result but in reality we're not going to win every single game.....still a point and a clean sheet.....it ain't over yet....COYR!!!
redder freak Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 One too many games. A week to recover for the trip to Tranmere.
Griffo Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 I think we definitely need to bring in some new faces with our injury situation. 3 away games in a row, and 3 very tricky ones too.
hutch Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 Could've been worse. I'll take that - you don't need to win every game to win promotion. No shots on target - the header pulled back off the line was off target then?
sperm_john Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 Agree totally with Alpine...again. If we don't get some good players in the best we can hope for is the playoff lottery. please tell me your joking
Ex Ringwood Saint Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 We were going to lose on Tuesday and everyone was doom and gloom saying we were too weak etc. Then we get a stonking result and it's how many hours till we are top.. Notts c are in great form, top of that table. We sounded poor today but are still undefeated this year and only half way through jan if we need to strengthen. As far as I can tell we have not dropped out the top six and are a game in hand of the auto spot still. Some people need to get a grip, enjoy the ride and chill out ffs!!!!
alpine_saint Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 I am happy to accept this was one game too many after a hectic few weeks. But the injuries are mounting up. This evening Lallanas injury looks massive. Lets hope with a week to recover he might be back. Was there any update about it on the radio before or after the game ? Do we know if he was close to passing a fitness test ?
latter day saint Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 Disappointing result but not the end of the world. bit of a worry that we had so few shoots on target & that we have a few injuries to deal with. didnt hear Lamberts name that often? was this due to cr*ap commentary or did he have a quiet game?
yorkie Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 Imagine Chaplow must have been suffering the same illness as Puncheon in the week? We must have had at least 2-attempts on target - didn't they clear two off the line? Not the end of the world still unbeaten - off to Tranmere with more than hope in my heart! Obviously missed Lalanna's trickery and guile - obviously he is the key to the teams good approach play. There will be more twists and turns in the remainder of the season - more turns than the twistyist rollercoaster!
Scudamore Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 please tell me your joking We need to prepare for eventualities that most likely won't occur...
saintsmike25 Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 I'm pleased we kept a clean sheet, Notts County are the form side right now and despite the fact we dominated, it was always going to be tough if we didn't get that all elusive first goal. Lets not have an overreaction to this, our great run was gonna get halted at some point, it's worrying that Chaplow, Hammond and Lallana are all injured, possibly a short term loan might solve this. Gobern will get better with games, and Guly can always come in and play in the midfield if we decide to sign him. That leaves Lambert and Barnard upfront. Another clean sheet so the defence is obviously doing something right and we're still second in the table.
Lallana's Left Peg Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 I thought we'd got the stage where we could play badly and win, but we've got a bit to go by the sounds of it. Looking at the bigger picture, nothing to be worried about - lets not forget the form Notts County were in. A good chance next week to get some goals and ANOTHER clean sheet (which is a nice habit we have also got into).

Scudamore Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 Good interview by Nigel there. Interesting movements around the building.
Deppo Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 Another clean sheet so the defence is obviously doing something right and we're still second in the table. 2nd in the table! Ha1 He thinks we're second. Season over mate, that's where we are right now.
Mcsaint Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 Sounds like a very poor performance. Disappointing defo gutted
saintsmike25 Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 Okay my mistake we're third, one point off second with a game in hand. That is really not much to worry about, given that we'll be strengthening the team before the end of the transfer window. I did look at an outdated league table on the BBC. God why is everyone panicking suddenly?

Saint J 77 Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 After floating on cluod 9 it was back down to earth with a bump today

Window Cleaner Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 No word during commentary taters were gonna ask Nige after the game. Guess we will read it somewhere And they did ask him, he was his usual evasive self over it, good medical staff at the club, getting the right diagnostic to be able to give the right treatment, soon rather than later etc etc.Would think that the original reports (6 months) are far fetched but I doubt that we'll see him next week either.
miserableoldgit Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 It may only me, but I felt that we played well today until we got to the 18yd box. We were by far the better team but strangely lacking when it came to finishing, when you consider our goal scoring exploits of the last few games.
Deppo Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 After floating on cloud 9 it was back down to earth with a bump today
S-Clarke Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 Pretty poor today, nothing of note really happened in and around the box at all. At least we didn't lose it.... oh well, on to next weekend.
miserableoldgit Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 I suggest its the increasing injury list, especially Lallana, combined with some swirling rumours. OMG!! Who is swirling??
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 Can we please sign a keeper with good distribution?
Brussels Saint Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 (edited) Predictable as many mention and we won't play brilliantly every week. Need to return to winning ways quickly however. Re. Transfers, I still think buy if we can get someone better than currently and for the right price. If not, use the existing squad and I'm confident (only just) it will be enough for 2nd. Edited 15 January, 2011 by Brussels Saint
alpine_saint Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 OMG!! Who is swirling?? You know what I mean. In the worst case we've lost our midfield, basically.
farawaysaint Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 You know what I mean. In the worst case we've lost our midfield, basically. Cheer up Alps, we drew Worse things have happened
Saints foreva Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 Meh, can't win them all but a concern for me today was that Gobern played. Not good enough for a team who wants to be promoted this season in my opinion. I always thought Oxo looked very poor, as if he didn't want to be here...
Hedgehog Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 After floating on cloud 9 it was back down to earth with a bump today Are you Saint J 77's parrot ?
bpsaint Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 Awful first half, things certainly improved in the second though,we just didn't really create any guilt edged chances. 1 point isn't the end of the world, thats 4 from them this season so i'm pretty happy with that. Hopefully this will serve as a wake up call to people that we aren't going to win every week, no more 'Date we will go top" threads and the like, its going to require a lot of hard work and a little bit of luck to get there.

County are a workmanlike side, they succeeded in shutting Sunderland down last week, away from home as well, they obviously know what they're doing in defence these days and we probably weren't fresh enough to have that extra yard of pace to break them down.
Jimmy_D Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 We missed Lallana today, and on a luckier day would have still had enough to win, but a draw isn't the end of the world, especially with such a bad Ref.
