If you actually look at it, rather than criticise (like some have already) you will see it is quite different from the order in the actual league table. Each time a team loses you knock off 3 points, a draw you knock off 2 point and a win the figure remains the same. If updated over the rest of the season it will give an ever clearer picture of how the table is panning out irrespective of games in hand.

I wonder if there has ever been a year when every team in the league has won every game of the season. It's probably happened somewhere, maybe in the lower leagues. Don't think it has happened in leagues 1-4.

Over to you, stattos!

Le God. You have outdone yourself with your nerding this time. Lets send this in to the FA and see if all league tables can be like this from now on.

I salute you sir.

I'd like to see a similar table showing the minimum points each team can achieve... ( not including points deductions - that would be silly.

In order for a team to win, the other team has to lose so it's impossible for that to happen.

Nearly happened in the league I was playing in when I was 12 but we lost the last game 3-1.

Table finished like this -

-----------------P-W-D-L-F-A-PTS

The other team --1-1-0-0-3-1-3

My team---------1-0-0-1-1-3-0

I'm not convinced, so I am designing a supercomputer to test this idea. ATM I am leaning towards Deppo's hypothesis, so can I make your idea the null?
