shurlock Posted 13 January, 2011 Posted 13 January, 2011 Conditional on what? If he gets us to the prem?
lordswoodsaints Posted 13 January, 2011 Posted 13 January, 2011 Not at the moment,he is too low profile for them and far too much of a gamble. If he got us to the prem and maintained a long stay then he could virtually walk into any job that took his fancy.
dune Posted 13 January, 2011 Author Posted 13 January, 2011 Liverpools eyes have been drawn in our direction of late because of Chamberlain. Adkins publicly stated he wanted Liverpool in the cup which basically told them he's a Liverpool man. Kenny Dalglish will remain in situ until the summer, but watch this space.
Window Cleaner Posted 13 January, 2011 Posted 13 January, 2011 Aren't they meant to be running after Ranieri already??
trousers Posted 13 January, 2011 Posted 13 January, 2011 I can see it coming. Oi...I floated that on here yesterday...(and was promptly ignored) ;-)
Matthew Le God Posted 13 January, 2011 Posted 13 January, 2011 (edited) Kenny Dalglish will remain in situ until the summer, but watch this space. Dalglish has also stated he would like the job long term. Compare Dalglish's four top flight titles and two FA Cup's as manager and his legendary status amongst Reds fans to Adkins' two promotions from the 3rd tier and it is a no contest. Nigel still has a long way to go to get the Anfield job, as there will be a lot of more experienced managers ahead of him in the queue. In any case under Cortese he looks to have the ambitions and the resources to overtake a poor Liverpool. Edited 13 January, 2011 by Matthew Le God
shurlock Posted 13 January, 2011 Posted 13 January, 2011 (edited) They sneered at Hodgson, in part because the job was too big for him (forget the fact that he took Fulham to a major european final) While we're in theory a bigger club than fulham with a more expectant fanbase, NA would have to pull off Cloughie heroics before he was considered. The scouse card no doubt goes a long way with that tribal, inbred bunch as does NA's emphasis on attacking football after the hunger reigns of Benitez and Hodgson; but not far enough to compensate for the lack of success at a higher level. John B Posted 13 January, 2011 Posted 13 January, 2011 I can see it coming. Adkins has got as much chance of becoming Liverpool Manager as you have of becoming the Pope
Saint-scooby Posted 13 January, 2011 Posted 13 January, 2011 Maybe in a few years, bit like WGS for manUre could of been
KK the 2nd Posted 13 January, 2011 Posted 13 January, 2011 Dalgleish favourite but Rijkaart, O'Neill and Coyle all in the running. Our Nige not in the betting up to 100/1 so over 100/1 chance of this or no chance.
shurlock Posted 13 January, 2011 Posted 13 January, 2011 Adkins has got as much chance of becoming Liverpool Manager as you have of becoming the Pope Or taking the "Red Flag" to a Xmas No.1.
Matthew Le God Posted 13 January, 2011 Posted 13 January, 2011 Adkins has got as much chance of becoming Liverpool Manager as you have of becoming the Pope I would have used Labour foreign secretary rather than Pope.
NickG Posted 13 January, 2011 Posted 13 January, 2011 they moaned about taking manager from a prem league team that finished 12th. Think they will want much more of a name personally
Saint_clark Posted 13 January, 2011 Posted 13 January, 2011 (edited) *yawn* To clarify, should this come about then this thread will be reopened and we will all bask in the warm glow of Dunes all knowing self. Edited 13 January, 2011 by Saint_clark
