Just listened to this, about 40 mins in they have an interview with an old fella called Herbert Taylor, who is Football League fan of the year, and tour guide at SMS (sounds like a lovely bloke), he said he writes match reports, just wondered if he's on here?

...he writes match reports...
As so22 suggests he writes a good length match within 24 hours of each game from a fans perspective. The nice thing is Herbie's pleasant nature and genuine love of the club, and it comes across in his writing - for someone overseas that doesn't have access to the games it adds the colour and passion that I miss. Herbie was also the gentleman chosen to have his portrait painted as a water colour to rival the blue few's W******d piece.

Not seen these, where do they appear?

Saintslist - its a privately moderated list on yahoo that is rather like Saintsforever, the predecessor to this forum without the bickering etc. Just listened to the podcast, Herbie is an 80 year old legend.

Does he give his reports funny titles like 'Herbie Goes Bananas' or 'Herbie Rides Again' or 'Herbie: Fully Loaded'. If not, he should. Perhaps you could put it to him as a suggestion?

Actually, I haven't really thought that through. After those ones he'd only have 'Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo' left and that one wouldn't really fit unless Saints played Monaco at some point. And then after that he would run out of titles to use. I hope it's not too late - you haven't suggested it yet, have you?

Although, having done some research, there was a TV series which included the episodes:

"Herbie the Matchmaker" — original air date: 17 March 1982 (also known as "The Love Bug")

"Herbie to the Rescue" — original air date: 24 March 1982

"Herbie, the Best Man" — original air date: 7 April 1982

"Calling Doctor Herbie" — original air date: 14 April 1982

it was after he got the award for FL fan of the year. remember he got a good round of applause.

Oh! I think we must have been at cross purposes! I thought he was talking about the car, Herbie! I was thinking how odd I didn't remember something like that - a VW Beetle on the pitch! Lol!

Herbie vs. TCWTB.

I think that sums up the difference between the two clubs perfectly.
