forever a red and white Posted 13 January, 2011 Share Posted 13 January, 2011 Lets not forgot what happened when we bought in the previous January transfer window. Our form dipped. It took time for the team to gel. We lost ground and eventually played catch up before missng out on the play offs. Why sign Guly now when he is on a season long loan. Don't commit until you have to. We have already agreed a fee should we wish to purchase. Ow and one other thing. Its a good job Guly doesn't read this site (Taxi For Guly) Thank god some of you don't run this club. Although it could be argued that run of cup games, with cup-tied players, with fixture pile up leading to squad rotation was a large factor. diggs Posted 13 January, 2011 Share Posted 13 January, 2011 i think we need cover for the right wing and a fast striker to see us through to the end of the season if we can get a player that can play both postions it will not upset the squad, and sign guly aswel. Chez Posted 13 January, 2011 Share Posted 13 January, 2011 large crowds also paying NPC wages to some of our players and paying for the training ground improvements..? I suspect not NPC size crowds and three significant cup runs might cover the wages. As for the training ground improvements, well that's a different story. If the right quality is there bring them in and loan out the worst player in that position.
saintjay77 Posted 13 January, 2011 Share Posted 13 January, 2011 Probably yes.Leeds and Norwich seem to be doing OK, can't remember what their recruitment was like last summer though. There's a lot of crap in the NPC,a lot of very financially unstable clubs who blow hot and cold depending on what's in the kitty at transfer time. We have several players who'd not be disgraced at the highest level, certainly no worse than a lot of the crap that I see on show at Newcastle,Wigan or even Liverpool. Our 1st team playing on form might be good enough but over a season and allowing for form dips and injury's I dont think it is. Jaidi struggles to play every game for us now so next season in the championship will be more of a struggle. Are his replacements Championship standard or higher? Both Seaborne and Martin are a little way off that IMO so we could need some cover there. DC is in a similar boat and if he struggles with fitness now he doesnt stand much chance a league above. Punchoeon is good enough but its still unclear if he wants to be here or not. Adkins obviously played him the other day and he now fits in so its looking positive. But to build a team for a top 6 in the NPC aim then there are 2 or 3 players that could need replacing or cover for IMO. Would it be better to try to get them in now or wait to make sure we get promoted 1st?
