dubai_phil Posted 12 January, 2011 Share Posted 12 January, 2011 Good performance, bowlers dragged them back into the game in the last 10 overs. Although was funny to see Swanny's face after his 1st 3 balls had all been despatched into the main stand for 6's. Great and lucky start by Bell & KP, but we kept losing wickets to poor shots. Great work by Shazad to keep Watson's first two balls out then getting the single to get Woakes back on strike. And Woakes? Nervous 2nd over and expensive spell, but he stayed cool and played proper cricket shots, great debut to win the game off the last ball. Oh and well played Brett Lee - takes a screaming catch in the deep to give them hope, then bowls the penultimate over of garbage to go for 11 runs. Win by one wicket off the last ball. dubai_phil Posted 14 January, 2011 Author Share Posted 14 January, 2011 Well, they almost bottled it again today, but scraped in at the end from the last ball to avoid an unwanted new record of most consecutive losses in T20. But Woakes scared the pants off them again blasting his six for 101 metres. It was clear from teh Aussie innings that England needed a big start as the ball would become harder to hit as the pace went off it. Bell fired but Davis didn't and it was then a case of catching practice for mid-on. On to the ODI's. Is Davis as devastating as Lumb or Kieswetter were? Think the press will have a chat about that
