Saint Bones Posted 11 October, 2008 Posted 11 October, 2008 (edited) Bit of International week forum filling It's Christmas and Santa has just given you 3 Million Pounds. Sadly for you he has placed conditions on its spenditure. You can buy one player only up to the value of 3 million for the Saints in the January transfer window. Who would you buy ? (I'm off to scout the Premier for an old head defender myself...) Edited 11 October, 2008 by Saint Bones Addicted To Editing
SNSUN Posted 11 October, 2008 Posted 11 October, 2008 Danny Gabbidon, now that West Ham are financially in the shizen.
Andy_Porter Posted 11 October, 2008 Posted 11 October, 2008 Since we're only allowed one player it makes it quite a lot harder, I'd probably go for either Chris Baird or Jack Cork. If I could split the money I'd go for Ryan Taylor (Wigan), Ryan Shawcross (Stoke) and use any left over money to secure Corks services on loan for the rest of the season.

buctootim Posted 11 October, 2008 Posted 11 October, 2008 I'd buy some dodgy has-been from League 2 and make sure I got £2.9million back in a brown paper bag from his agent.
70's Mike Posted 11 October, 2008 Posted 11 October, 2008 i think his name is David Wheater from Boro, but not sure if £3m would be enough
paulwantsapint Posted 11 October, 2008 Posted 11 October, 2008 Garth Bale Left back- yes Young,- yes better going forward than back- yes set plays- YES Do we get 10% discount due to sell on fee?
Chris Larkin Posted 11 October, 2008 Posted 11 October, 2008 That Kazahkstani #21, the 20 year old goalscorer looked none too shabby today. Wouldn't cost nearly £3million either. Otherwise, I'd bring Bairdy back, he's the man we need to hold the defence together once Perry gets too old and Killer breaks again.

Saint Billy Posted 11 October, 2008 Posted 11 October, 2008 It´s one thing buying em, it´s another thing being able to afford their wages. At this time of night and slightly the worse for the golden nectar, but I would buy the guy who NP loaned at the end of last season from Sheff U to help steady the defence, (can´t remember his name). Probably would cost less than a million with the rest left to pay his and Skacels wages.

Tac-tics Posted 12 October, 2008 Posted 12 October, 2008 Without a doubt http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sa%C5%A1a_Kajkut He is utter crap
saint_bert Posted 12 October, 2008 Posted 12 October, 2008 i think his name is David Wheater from Boro' date=' but not sure if £3m would be enough[/quote'] He is England fringe now and arguably their best defender, no chance of that happening good ambition though
