With all that top class interest we should be able to raise enough to buy ourself a proper right footed winger. They will be surprised in the PL when they realise what they've bought.

The priority is a left-winger.we have better cover on the right- chambo, lallana. It's not just about replacing punch should he leave - we haven't addressed holmes injury/mills absence - both of whom could have done a job on the left.

A very good analysis of the situation with JP. I really do not believe he is capable of changing up a gear though. It's not only a very simple psycological issue. It's personal performance asperation and knowing where he's at rather than thinking he has arrived there. Rather similar to Morgan in some ways, a decent skill level but there's lots of smoke and mirrors and never wan'ts to really be something very special and die for cause.

Yes I totally agree. I wasn't suggesting that he's mentally unprepared to excel, more that he's unwilling to push himself to do so, as you suggest. We all know people who have the tools but underperform professionally due to a lack of 'ambition' or whatever you want to call it, so there shouldn't be any surprise that it would affect a footballer like anyone else. The key is getting him to *want* to perform at a higher level. Puncheon himself, Adkins and the coaching staff, and the fans all have a part to play in that. The problem is if the fans are on his back a week's worth of motivational work by Adkins can be undone by five past three on a Saturday afternoon.

You could take his absence from the squad today as a positive sign that we are going to unveil some sort of uber-replacement soon....

You could also take it as a sign that Adkins views him as a negative force in the squad, which is how it sounded on that interview.

They cup-tied him two weeks ago and now they've left him out of the squad. The message doesn't get much clearer than that, does it?

What was the benefit to us in cup-tying him?

None at all because it didn't help his salability, although most of the interested teams are already out of the Cup. However, it was a signal to him that he can't sulk his way out of the Club, if that's what he was doing.

bad attitude and big time charlie, cant wait for him to dissapear. Plymouth fans were over the moon when he left, thats says it all!!!!!!!!!!! Cant beleive the grief some fans gave adkin for letting him go out on loan, he kows what he is doing. Bet his mind would be right for the Man Utd game if he is asked to play, what a t*wat.

If he even made the bench it'd probably cause a mutiny in the dressing room. What really annoys me is that we had great team spirit and then he turns up and look at the results. Seriously no club deserves to have a player like puncheon - apart from Pompey where it'd be funny.

Agreed - we should take the best offer we have and have him " out of the building " ASAP. A bad influence on team morale.

If he had played today (as he can) he might have made a difference - without him AND Adam AND Dean H. we looked thin in midfield and that's the whole story.

Is it just conicidence that since he has been back our form has dropped off? It's a shame, he is a decent player, but as a bloke it is fast emerging he is an utter c*nt. Get rid of him asap.

Thing about Punch is that he was never popular when he played regularly and he couldn't hit a barn door with his shooting.

That said if he could have got his act together - he would have been on the bench and may have been an option as a sub today . Without Lallana the team lacked width against Tranmere and struggled in midfield.

Saints are now having to rely on Oxy-C game after game. It was good when Oxy came on as an impact sub.

I reckon the guy is a disruptive influence, he wants out and was left out of the squad today because he's packing his bags ready for an exit off the bus. Good riddance - has significantly underperformed here.

Yep. 100%. Would rather be weak on the wing than have a sh*t-stirring tw*t here.

It is not an accident our form has slumped since this useless twit returned from Millwall. If we wants to go back to that dump, rip their hands off for 250k and compete with Irvine for Myles Weston from Brentford who has a number of attributes Puncheon will never have - pace, work-rate, a decent delivery on him. Alternatively, Jennings would be worth pushing out the boat for, in fact any half decent winger in the lower divisions is worth an offer.

Whilst we're at it, can we please circulate Morgan's details amongst all Ligue 1 clubs? Too inconsistent and Chaplow has really shown him up. Hammond isn't the greatest player ever but you just knew Morgan wouldn't have the bottle for today. "Nasty Tranmere, getting stuck in and winning 50/50s, I want to go home". Frankly Morgan, I'd pay your return fair myself, people like you and some the others cheated those fans that travelled today. We can bring in better CMs that want to play for us.

Yep and Adkins comments have shown up some posters on this thread who do not seem to unserstand that you need players who are positive and with good team spirit. He should have never come back from Millwall. One of few mistakes Adkins has made so far and I am positive he won't make it again.

Good riddance to the Prima-Donna!

clearly does not fit in anymore if in fact he ever did. Clearly thinks hes bettter than he is. Ship him out to the highest bidder asap and keep him away from Staplewood this week.

Yep. Completely agree. If Millwall are only offering 100K, we should bite their hand off and take the loss on the chin.

I would say it is. Our form dropping off is more to do with Lallana
