marc_saint Posted 13 January, 2011 Author Posted 13 January, 2011 Hampshire V Barbados is on now. Hampshire 136-3 Barbados currently 1-1
hypochondriac Posted 13 January, 2011 Posted 13 January, 2011 Get in. Caught on final ball! Game tied.
hypochondriac Posted 13 January, 2011 Posted 13 January, 2011 Quality. No runs scored in the super over for barbados.
Weston Saint Posted 13 January, 2011 Posted 13 January, 2011 No runs for 2 wickets. Hants require run
Special K Posted 14 January, 2011 Posted 14 January, 2011 What a game! I know the purists don't like the T20, but for sheer nervous entertainment, games like that just can't be beat.
ecuk268 Posted 14 January, 2011 Posted 14 January, 2011 Was Ervine hero or villain? Went for 21 off his 1 over, out 1st ball in the OOPSE but made a useful 32.
keithd Posted 14 January, 2011 Posted 14 January, 2011 blimey, sounds bonkers! dont supposes highlights will be available anywhere...
Lets B Avenue Posted 14 January, 2011 Posted 14 January, 2011 blimey, sounds bonkers! dont supposes highlights will be available anywhere... ESPN website?
egbb saint Posted 14 January, 2011 Posted 14 January, 2011 We were very fortunate to be at the Barbados match. The Sir Viv Richards stadium was excellent and the cricket was pretty good as well. The only problem - no one gave us a rule book and there was great confussion about the 1 over play off! But we won and thats all the counts. We will be back on Saturday for the Leeward isles Match and sorry, we will be in Hamspshire shirts NOT Saints shirts! Now off to the beach!
marc_saint Posted 14 January, 2011 Author Posted 14 January, 2011 ESPN website? It was on Eurosport so not sure it'll be on the ESPN website?
stevegrant Posted 14 January, 2011 Posted 14 January, 2011 It was on Eurosport so not sure it'll be on the ESPN website? The coverage is provided by ESPN, but bizarrely they're not showing it on their own channel (although it's entirely possible that Eurosport is now owned by ESPN). Might be highlights on the tournament website, http://ct20.windiescricket.com
Lets B Avenue Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 WTF!!! This game is supposed to be on tomorrow(according to Rose Bowl web). I've just staggered back from pub and seen Hants take 3 in 4 balls and Jones is on a hat trick.
egbb saint Posted 16 January, 2011 Posted 16 January, 2011 OK just back from the game.ooh I've always wanted to say that. Met Rod Bransgrove and Cardigan Connor. Don't get too carried away by Hampshires performance - leeward islands are not that good; keiran powell,1 of their spinners with an unspellable name and the roly poly Cornwall are the only ones I saw with anything about them. How can a west indian team have only 1 quickish bowler? Although the pitch had probably been covered in PVA glue to hold it together; certainly was the oddest looking pitch I've seen from the boundary. Mybrough looks a real find and was impressed with Howell as a bat too. Jones was not as quick as Thursday but probably knew the pitch would be useless from a quicks point of view. Thats my cricket over for the week, great fun and a smallish but fun Antiguan crowd. Oh and Mr Cortese, 3 beers for less than £3.50 - beat that!
Weston Saint Posted 19 January, 2011 Posted 19 January, 2011 On again tonight. T&T won the toss and bat - 16/3 off 5 when the rain came
manji Posted 19 January, 2011 Posted 19 January, 2011 Any idea if and when they are coming back on ? I have just switched it on.
Lets B Avenue Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 70-4 off 10. Match abandoned. 2 points each. Got to rely on Canada not stuffing Leeward Islands on Friday and beating our run-rate.
chrisobee Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 Game abandoned, 1 point each. Hants have finished on 9 points, Barbados and Canada both on 4 with 2 games left so likely one will overtake us. The loss v Canada looks to have been crucial but come what may it has been an interesting experience for many younger players ! Brief highlights and reports here : http://www.espncricinfo.com/ct20-11/content/series/487275.html
chrisobee Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 70-4 off 10. Match abandoned. 2 points each. Got to rely on Canada not stuffing Leeward Islands on Friday and beating our run-rate. Great, wait till I'm in the process of obtaining the above info and post at that exact time, you couldn't make it up
Lets B Avenue Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 Barbados currently playing Canada. A win for Barbados and then they lose to Trinidad on Friday and Robert is your Mum's brother.
chrisobee Posted 20 January, 2011 Posted 20 January, 2011 Barbados win on DL method, Canada were 29/5 off 6 chasing a revised target of 62. As above we now need Trinida to beat Barbados tomorrow or if Barbados win do so by a large and unlikely margin when net run rate comes into play as it will also if it's a no result and then we will miss out. Somerset contrived to score 24/8 off 6 overs in another rain affected match in reply to Jamaica's 85/1 off 6.
marc_saint Posted 22 January, 2011 Author Posted 22 January, 2011 As above we now need Trinida to beat Barbados tomorrow And that did indeed happen. We are now into the semi finals to be played tonight. Up against The Winward Islands on Eurosport at 7:50. (Channel 411 on sky)
chrisobee Posted 22 January, 2011 Posted 22 January, 2011 And that did indeed happen. We are now into the semi finals to be played tonight. Up against The Winward Islands on Eurosport at 7:50. (Channel 411 on sky) Indeed, easy win for Trinidad. Ok, not the most important of tournaments but would still be fun if we could win !!
Weston Saint Posted 23 January, 2011 Posted 23 January, 2011 Highlights here http://www.espncricinfo.com/westindies/content/video_audio/497936.html
Evil Monkey Posted 23 January, 2011 Posted 23 January, 2011 Never heard of Myburgh (sp). Seems pretty useful. When is the final? Is it on TV?
Weston Saint Posted 23 January, 2011 Posted 23 January, 2011 Midnight tonight - Europsport Channel 411 Sky
