We were very fortunate to be at the Barbados match. The Sir Viv Richards stadium was excellent and the cricket was pretty good as well.

The only problem - no one gave us a rule book and there was great confussion about the 1 over play off!

But we won and thats all the counts. We will be back on Saturday for the Leeward isles Match and sorry, we will be in Hamspshire shirts NOT Saints shirts!

Now off to the beach!

OK just back from the game.ooh I've always wanted to say that. Met Rod Bransgrove and Cardigan Connor. Don't get too carried away by Hampshires performance - leeward islands are not that good; keiran powell,1 of their spinners with an unspellable name and the roly poly Cornwall are the only ones I saw with anything about them. How can a west indian team have only 1 quickish bowler? Although the pitch had probably been covered in PVA glue to hold it together; certainly was the oddest looking pitch I've seen from the boundary. Mybrough looks a real find and was impressed with Howell as a bat too. Jones was not as quick as Thursday but probably knew the pitch would be useless from a quicks point of view. Thats my cricket over for the week, great fun and a smallish but fun Antiguan crowd. Oh and Mr Cortese, 3 beers for less than £3.50 - beat that!

Game abandoned, 1 point each. Hants have finished on 9 points, Barbados and Canada both on 4 with 2 games left so likely one will overtake us. The loss v Canada looks to have been crucial but come what may it has been an interesting experience for many younger players !

Barbados win on DL method, Canada were 29/5 off 6 chasing a revised target of 62. As above we now need Trinida to beat Barbados tomorrow or if Barbados win do so by a large and unlikely margin when net run rate comes into play as it will also if it's a no result and then we will miss out.

Somerset contrived to score 24/8 off 6 overs in another rain affected match in reply to Jamaica's 85/1 off 6.

And that did indeed happen.

We are now into the semi finals to be played tonight. Up against The Winward Islands on Eurosport at 7:50. (Channel 411 on sky)

Indeed, easy win for Trinidad. Ok, not the most important of tournaments but would still be fun if we could win !!
