SO16_Saint Posted 11 January, 2011 Share Posted 11 January, 2011 Any ideas? Am looking to book somewhere for my wifes 30th Birthday. Have thought about The Orange Rooms and Vodka Revolutions as they both have private areas. Any other ideas would be most welcome!
Master Bates Posted 11 January, 2011 Share Posted 11 January, 2011 Not Bedfords, unless it's after 9pm.

Colinjb Posted 11 January, 2011 Share Posted 11 January, 2011 I need the same kind of idea for Mrs Colinjb's 27th. Just a relaxing restaurant that's not too pricey but equally not an utter dive. And yes, we will be in Southampton for it.
Julian H. Cope Posted 11 January, 2011 Share Posted 11 January, 2011 BHS do a nice jacket potato, plenty of seats available, and no need to book. Bring your own wine/vodka.
scotty Posted 11 January, 2011 Share Posted 11 January, 2011 How many guests? The Coco Rio used to do a terrific meal for large parties.

Wade Garrett Posted 11 January, 2011 Share Posted 11 January, 2011 If it's cheap beer (very close to sell by date), no atmosphere, boring gits and p*ss stained tramps you want, then pick any Wetherspoons pub.

Orange Rooms have the Bacardi Lounge and Room Service that you can book but I think there is a price Revs have booths which basically act like a 'base' for people. No exclusive room though Yuzu lounge have an upstairs with its own bar you can hire out for free. Varsity hold tables with balloons if you need a pre drink venue. Revs have said (on their website, admitidedly) that there is a private area / room called the Club Room? Orange rooms looks a good bet too. looking for somewhere for the whole night really as too old to go out on the town now!
Jez Posted 12 January, 2011 Share Posted 12 January, 2011 Went to a private party upstairs in the Orange rooms a few weeks ago. They didn't have any beer on tap upstairs (it was the room round the back, not upstairs in the middle of the place) and I was told I could not go back downstairs to the main bar area as people had to pay to get into this part. Although our area had been paid for privately, didn't seem to matter. I argued my case as it was pre-10pm, so the people downstairs had not paid to get in, and it was ok up until this point, but then the bouncer who appeared watching the door at the bottom didn't let me out after 10pm. So if you hire a private room in the Orange rooms, it really is a private room and not actually in the Orange rooms at all!! Although it does have a glass window overlooking the dance floor, so you kinda feel you are in the Orange rooms!
Golden Balls Posted 12 January, 2011 Share Posted 12 January, 2011 cheers. Revs have said (on their website, admitidedly) that there is a private area / room called the Club Room? Orange rooms looks a good bet too. looking for somewhere for the whole night really as too old to go out on the town now! Club room is exactly that. A club thats open to everyone. They have some tables there next to the dance floor that they can reserve. It's not bad though as Revs does offer both a lounge type bar (downstairs) playing cheese and current music, and upstairs is more dancey. Orange also have a 'raised area' which is downstairs in the heart of the bar and semi private. Doesn't hold many though. About 6 or 7.
SO16_Saint Posted 13 January, 2011 Author Share Posted 13 January, 2011 Am going to go with the orange rooms, they have something called Room Service which is a private room with beer on tap and overlooks the main bar-glass wall. Looks good on their site.
