There's some belters on the short-list (not suprising for the 'goal of the year' I suppose!). If not the Northern Irish guy, it would be the Swedish guy or van Bronkhort's effort for me. Maybe the Japanese lady. Messi's goal is distinctly average in this company but will probably win as he is the most famous.

The award for the best disallowed goal had to be in the Argentina-Spain game when Messi beat 2-3 players and split the Spanish defence in two with a delicious through ball to Aguero, who tucked it neatly into the corner. Unfortunately Aguero strayed a yard offside.

 

As for the winner of this, it's either the Irish guy, the Swedish guy or the Japanese lady.

 

I've watched the clip of that Japanese lady's goal a few times now and I still keep losing count of how many players she beats.
