United - Ticket Pricing & Policy Thread

Well this just gets better! Surely only block 42 season ticket holders had to move, can't be that many?!

well if you think about there are plenty of season ticket holders in block 42 and ita much bigger block than 1/2/3, plus block 41 already has plenty of season ticket holders. Plus he's not saying there aren't plenty of seats left in these blocks, could be loads left in theory, just happens that none are together.

I don't think it's much bigger than 3 blocks together.

"in block 42 and ita much bigger block than 1/2/3, plus block 41"

Yes it is.

I've been put on hold twice now for about 5 minutes before being told "all operators are busy".

Ha strange quoting  Point being it's bigger than blocks 1, 2 and 3 and probably not too far being as big as those three put together. Blocks 42 and 41 have loads of season ticket holders, so not really surprising there weren't many seats left together which were all snapped up as soon as tickets went on sale this morning.

As has been said above, blocks 37-40 should still be good for atmosphere, as will block 4. It won't sell out today and anyone who wants a ticket will get one.

For those who can't get block 1-3 tickets, the Kingsland corner had a good atmosphere for the JPT semi final last year, so that may be your next best bet?

I'm in block 36 and the atmosphere has been good over our way this season. People have started standing in 37 now, so would imagine more will be doing so for the Man Utd game as quite a few from 42 will move over.

Is it just me, or does anybody else think it's utter madness that people queued overnight for tickets to this game?

I was thinking this earlier... but maybe thats cos I have a ST and there was no drama getting my ticket. Regardless, I dont think I would have been there are 4am this morning waiting....

The people who queued overnight were attention seeking morons. I know a mate who popped down at 7am on his way to work and had his tickets in hand by 7.30am. Or just use the internet, phone, or give it a couple of days and get your tickets when the fuss has died down.

Agree. It's also bizarre considering the earliest I ever had to queue up at the Dell to get a ticket for a big game was about 6am - and that was for a stadium with half the capacity.

No not really; I did it for the Derby away game when a relatively small number of tickets went on open sale, drove down Sat for the home leg, drove down overnight Mon/Tue for tickets to the away, and drove to Derby on the Thursday, there were about eight of us there that night and others joined from about 5am onwards - tickets in hand at 8.30, job done.

The big saving to camping out is you get away at 09-00 (07-00 today) and can return to work (as oppossed to arriving at 08.00 and leaving at 11.00 say?). What are the queues like today, haven't seen or heard much?

I think people with a ST underestimate the 'stress' that some people will have to endure hanging on the phones literally all day; I was one of the lucky ones, only four hours on two lines till I got through this morning, would have done more work this morning if I had travelled down overnight and back at 07.00 this morning!

Doing it for a small number of tickets is fine, but for 15,000odd tickets is madness.

I doubt the game will sale out anyway, the fact that you have to buy a Carlisle ticket will put loads of fans off. They had a similar type of policy with Pompey, there were still a couple thousand left over after that and then it went to General Sale. The club don't appear to be having any general sale offer for the United game.

think you,d all be better off buying a ticket for a league game ,far more important than the cup or are there a lot of closet man u fans on here ,why does everyone want to go to this one just cos its man u? its not important, save your money and go to exeter 3 days later thats the games we need to win

Don't we only have just over a thousand tickets for exeter?

The 15 thousand people getting tickets for united might not squeeze in.

Absolutely mental. I just went down to get mine - No queue and I'm sat exactly where I wanted. If anyone is having trouble on the phones but have a chance of getting down there before 5ish I'd recommend it.

I can understand it for something like that, a playoff game, a cup final, last game of the season must win game, even a Pompey derby. They will sell out very quickly.

I would be surprised if this sells out before the end of the week.

Just got my ticket for row EE of block 4. Broke my leg last week so can't stand much so will probably be constantly telling the people in front of me to sit down so I can see for 90 minutes.

For **** sake, look a few posts above yours! I'm in the row infront! ;)

LMAO; you should shout this from the rooftops to all the idiots that camped out overnight. Option A) Spend all night in the freezing rain. Or Option B) Go down at half four and get served immediately.

Brilliant!

The box office at St. Mary's will be open until from 7am to 7pm again on Wednesday.

The first day of restricted general sale has seen Saints fans gather in their hundreds, many overnight, to secure their place at the FA Cup game against Manchester United on Saturday 29th January.

Another busy day of sales is expected on Wednesday, and please note that the phone line 0800 2800 050 will open from 8.30am - 7pm to accommodate bookings.

No online service is available for purchases at this stage, where tickets are also linked to the next home league fixture on Saturday 12th February versus Carlisle United.

I have tried several times today, without success, to get through on the phone. What I cannot understand is the OS said tickets would be restricted to one per person on the database. How is it then that people are walking away with handfulls of tickets as reported on the OS?

They must have had the Customer Numbers for the other people they were buying tickets for.
