Saint_clark Posted 12 January, 2011 Posted 12 January, 2011 Seriously considering not going to this. £50 at least for ticket and travel from Weymouth when I could stay here and watch it in a pub.
LGTL Posted 12 January, 2011 Posted 12 January, 2011 I think the tickets are posted manually so there still could be a block on random purchases. Yeah I can just see the old dear at the ticket office caring enough to check every single Customer Number! The same thing happened for Pompey and the JPT Final last year, it really is a glitch that the online lot need to sort out.
benjii Posted 12 January, 2011 Posted 12 January, 2011 Seriously considering not going to this. £50 at least for ticket and travel from Weymouth when I could stay here and watch it in a pub. Ok.
Saint_clark Posted 12 January, 2011 Posted 12 January, 2011 Ok. My underlying point was that I know of a couple of others who would normally be up for this that aren't too fussed either. When it gets down to it, it's not that great a draw.

This isn't directed at you personally but for all those posters who seem to have an issue with the price how much more are you actually paying compared to a normal league? The cost of a pint or two? Definitely don't understand the mentality that watching on tv is a reasonable substitute, I can think of nothing worse and just imagine if saints pull off a remarkable upset and there you are. Slouched on the sofa at home watching the saints fans in the stands going mad in joyful scenes of celebration.

Believe me i've thought about it a lot, and I would be very disappointed if I ended up missing an upset - but i've been off work for 2 weeks with illness now and I just can't afford it. I may well end up changing my mind, who knows.
NickG Posted 12 January, 2011 Author Posted 12 January, 2011 At what point exactly? after payment details before final confirmation
100%Red&White Posted 13 January, 2011 Posted 13 January, 2011 All these fans that "can't afford" to go to this one, what are you going to do if we get back to the Prem? Every home game is going to be, at the very least, £30. If you really can't afford it you have my sympathy but, as much as we'd all have liked it to be £25, I don't think an extra fiver is that unreasonable for a visit of the League leaders and I'm sure there's plenty of others more than willing to take your place.

Chez Posted 13 January, 2011 Posted 13 January, 2011 its a tad expensive, but that's the way it is with football. At some point many of us are going to face the question, do I really want to be paying £30, £40, £50 or more to watch a game of football. If getting to the Premiership means forking out £60 for a ticket then I'm in no hurry to see us go through the leagues.
Bishop Posted 13 January, 2011 Posted 13 January, 2011 I can't buy my seat online? This game or tick box doesn't show under my account, I only see: Cup Match and Season Renewals: Add another customer's renewal: I can't see any way of buying my own seat?
AK Posted 13 January, 2011 Posted 13 January, 2011 I can't buy my seat online? This game or tick box doesn't show under my account, I only see: Cup Match and Season Renewals: Add another customer's renewal: I can't see any way of buying my own seat? Click on season renewals you should then see the cup match, click on that and it will automatically choose your ST seat.
derry Posted 13 January, 2011 Posted 13 January, 2011 Yeah I can just see the old dear at the ticket office caring enough to check every single Customer Number! The same thing happened for Pompey and the JPT Final last year, it really is a glitch that the online lot need to sort out. I'm told they have read this thread and tested the system, nobody will get more than the one ticket they are entitled to and will only get the first ticket against the customer number, so it is possible to not get season ticket seat if first ticket is already logged.
Saint Jimbo Posted 13 January, 2011 Posted 13 January, 2011 How would I be able to purchase a ticket, without having a season ticket or customer number? Do I need a membership to obtain a customer number? Never bought tickets alone, always got family members who are season ticket holders to get a ticket for me off of their season ticket. However with this game, it seems the season ticket holdeer is only entitled to their own seat. How much are memberships? May seem a stupid post, but would be greatful for more info! Online doesnt seem to cover membership details, only for kids under 16! Thanks!
Window Cleaner Posted 13 January, 2011 Posted 13 January, 2011 User Ticket Office is reading as we speak. Seem to be logged on most of the time nowadays, even on Saturdays and Sundays.Think they were looking in virtually seconds after we drew Man U last Sunday. Hi there Ticket Office:smug::smug:.

If you phone now and book a ticket for Carlisle that might get you on the database in time to buy a Utd ticket, but I'm not certain on that. A couple of people have also said season ticket holders can get 1 more on general sale, so might be worth you talking to your ST holding mates.

If getting to the Premiership means forking out £60 for a ticket then I'm in no hurry to see us go through the leagues. Its a 'tad expensive' in relation to what we have been paying for normal league games over last two seasons but when you take a step back and consider that out of the 92 teams in the 4 divisions, we are playing the current number 1 side who also happen to be one of the top sides in Europe - is it all that expensive ? What would you pay to see Saints play AC Milan, Juventus, Bayern Munich etc.. ? We've just been too used to paying lower prices to watch Saints play lower league opposition.
ericb Posted 13 January, 2011 Posted 13 January, 2011 Ticket prices for football in this country are too high in general. I'd like to think that should safe standing ever be introduced that tickets would be fairer. Of course i'm probably living in cloud cuckoo land but it's a thought. As with most things, in regards fan culture, the Germans have it pretty much spot on when it comes to pricing with some safe standing seats being as little as 8 Euros. Of course we're the idiots for this really since we just suck it up when clubs charge well over the odds for games, and the fact that fans at premiership clubs are willing to pay in the region of a grand for a season ticket doesn't exactly help!
NickG Posted 13 January, 2011 Author Posted 13 January, 2011 unfortunately if its sells out its hard to argue it was too expensive
Junction 9 Posted 13 January, 2011 Posted 13 January, 2011 Stay at home and watch it on TV I expect. Won't be needing the 45k stadium then.
JRM Posted 14 January, 2011 Posted 14 January, 2011 Called up for my tickets this morning, they said phones have been non-stop for last couple of days and selling well, would be a shame if a lot of regular fans didn't turn up for this one but thats up to them. Still availability in the Itchen North corner for anyone who wants a bit of atmosphere. They said the first batch of tickets for Exeter were also selling quickly, so anyone planning on doing that one shouldn't leave it too late to get your tickets, on the subject of pricing £17 for Exeter away £6 for kids, not too bad.

Surely those in blocks 1/2/3 are only fans in block 42 who have had to move?
JRM Posted 14 January, 2011 Posted 14 January, 2011 Surely those in blocks 1/2/3 are only fans in block 42 who have had to move? Yeah you're right, we have gone for block 3 about 10 rows from the back similar to the pompey game last season hopefully will be a good atmosphere all standing there again. Still blocks 1 & 2 are tiny, so if wont take much to fill up that corner
LGTL Posted 14 January, 2011 Posted 14 January, 2011 Tickets arrived this morning, back in Block 1, my old ST area. It'll be good to be back again.
Lord Duckhunter Posted 14 January, 2011 Posted 14 January, 2011 Online sales suspended by the club, must be due to the free for all mentioned earlier in the thread. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2267117,00.html
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 14 January, 2011 Posted 14 January, 2011 Tickets arrived this morning, back in Block 1, my old ST area. It'll be good to be back again. This. They need to open it up again. Much better than 42
Griffo Posted 17 January, 2011 Posted 17 January, 2011 Quick question because I'm going down in the morning. I presume it's okay to buy your Carlisle ticket there too, or do I need to have a Carlisle ticket in advance before going down there?
Matthew Le God Posted 17 January, 2011 Posted 17 January, 2011 You will be able to buy them both together.
sotonjoe Posted 17 January, 2011 Posted 17 January, 2011 People already queuing this evening at about 6pm when Jordan Sibley left the stadium according to his twitter.
hamster Posted 17 January, 2011 Posted 17 January, 2011 Well done I say for opening for 12 hours tommorow, those staff are gonna mightily cream crackered come the end of their shift. Also, I hope there's the waft of bacon sarnies in the car park, I shall however have a flask on me....Coffee £2 a cup
Smirking_Saint Posted 17 January, 2011 Posted 17 January, 2011 I remember qeueing at the Dell for tickets against Man Utd back in the day. I am not that fussed right now, they have no massive outstanding players i would love to watch play and we are more than likely going to use. Plus its not cheap, plus its on the TV, plus none of the lads are fussed. I'm out

Nexstar Posted 18 January, 2011 Posted 18 January, 2011 Over 250 #saintsfc fans / nutters in the queue for Man Utd tickets. Been here since 6am - have a crate of Red Bull to see me through the day Phone keeps telling me it's not in use at the moment though
Eaststander Posted 18 January, 2011 Posted 18 January, 2011 Ask them when they are going to open the phone lines. It's obviously not 7am as advertised!
sammysaint Posted 18 January, 2011 Posted 18 January, 2011 Phone is not letting me get thru either grr
Nexstar Posted 18 January, 2011 Posted 18 January, 2011 officialsaints Saints FC RT @cgc8180 @officialsaints when is the phone line opening!? Well done Saints for managing to completely avoid telling us that last night.
The Red Bag Posted 18 January, 2011 Posted 18 January, 2011 Twitter feed is saying they now dont open until 8.30am
Midfield_General Posted 18 January, 2011 Posted 18 January, 2011 The story on the OS with the headline "TICKET OFFICE OPEN FROM 7AM" is a teeny bit misleading isn't it, given they aren't going to start answering the phones until 8.30
Turkish Posted 18 January, 2011 Posted 18 January, 2011 Will we sell out today? Unlikely,do the maths, 12.5k tickets sold to STH's, c4.5k for Man U inc segregation, leaves c15k tickets left for everyone else, if they sell that many today i'd be amazed purley due to logistics of it. I am sure there will still be some left on thursday, Pompey didn't sell out for 3 or 4 days and that was a much bigger game.
Griffo Posted 18 January, 2011 Posted 18 January, 2011 Could only manage block 4 which is ****e. I hope it's standing still though. We were in the first 100 in the queue this morning and there was still nothing in block 1-3..

Griffo Posted 18 January, 2011 Posted 18 January, 2011 1-3 sold out or not open yet? Sold out. Couldn't get two together anyway. You may have more luck if you're just buying one though.
Nexstar Posted 18 January, 2011 Posted 18 January, 2011 Sold out. Couldn't get two together anyway. You may have more luck if you're just buying one though. Great, I need 4
Griffo Posted 18 January, 2011 Posted 18 January, 2011 You could always just buy 4 seats seperately in the Itchen North and then all squeeze in together?
Nexstar Posted 18 January, 2011 Posted 18 January, 2011 You could always just buy 4 seats seperately in the Itchen North and then all squeeze in together? Possibly, might give 41/40 a go first.
