United - Ticket Pricing & Policy Thread

I'm pretty sure that any Saints supporting mate that want to go to the Carlisle game, will also be going to Man Utd.

There are more than 28,000 Saints fans (4,000 Man Utd fans will be there), 50,000 Saints fans went to Wembley and many thousands more missed out on that due to the allocation being too small. A lot of Saints fans that want to go won't get tickets for the Man Utd game as St Mary's isn't big enough. I'm sure you will find someone to buy the Carlisle ticket.

I think the carlisle game link is great idea. How many people buy their tickets on a game by game basis? Quite a fair percentage I would imagine. THis way it means that no ST holding regular supporters will not miss out because a load of plastic ManUre fans want to come to their one game this millenium.

I have been on his site and it comments seem quite reasonable on the subject

But perhaps I have missed him saying that Cortese is profititeering which I dont think he is hhis approach is quite reasonable but will affect people who do not buy their own tickets

What's fair about that? If you can't get to the Carlisle game you're stuffed aren't you? I'm certainly not going to pay for a match I can't attend so it looks like the telly for me.

It'll make sure regulars get priority then wont it. Very good decision IMO. Means people that go regularly are rewarded and will help with the boost the attendance for the Carlise game. Good price too, the club have got it spot on with this one.

BTW i know in the past if you couldn't make the game they speicifed, you could choose another game as long as you bought them both together, so if you cant make Carlise you can ask, for regulars this wont make any difference as we will be going anyway.

I see saints own supa dupa fan - Nick I. is having a pop at Cortese for "profiteering" for the Untied game with the prices set and asking too much from saints fans in linking the tickets to the carlise game

he really is a bitter ****

He has every right to still be bitter as the club still haven't sorted his season ticket. Am sure you will call him a bitter **** when you are next posting on the UI. FWIW, I think the linking in with Carlisle tickets is a good idea, though perhaps the club could have offered an alternative to the Carlisle game?

I am bit stuffed as well.

As most of you know Sophie (accident 2007, in program for Birmingham game) I was hoping to take her, but as I am on the database and she's not and she would be the payee and I 'the carer' she cant go!! Kids are gutted as well, as we managed to get the whole family to the last Man Utd game at St Mary's. It makes a big difference to her!

Maybe the letter from Sir Alex to come and meet her 'next time he is down', just put the kiss of death on that one!!

What are the hospitality enclosures for if not profiteering?! Christ, we're not going to moan at Nicola for rinsing some borish old ****s in ill fitting suits and crass gold jewellery trying to impress their permatanned, car-dealer, dickwad golfing mates are we? I'm sure they won't hesitate to delight in banging on tiresomely to all and sundry about how much they paid to be the big "I am".

I am not complaining one little bit. i went on staurday and had a whale of a time, the win (although predicted by some) really was the icing on the cake. Compared tp the Man U game I think the £57.57 we paid was a bargain.

Not sure I quite agree with the inverted snobbery against those who can afford it though, that's is the good thing with wealthy people...they don't necesarily appreciate the money and hence splash it about for Joe Soap to have a few crumbs.

It's not healthy my friend to envy anyone having anything, it really isn't. Be content with what you have, waking up in the morning is priceless and one day we won't.

NB

Hope this doesn;t read as up my self, it's honestly not meant in that way.

The corporate seats sell out in a flash for these games, it makes sense to hike the prices up.

There are plenty of rich ****ers around this area with spoilt brat kids who support Man U, they will sell out at that price easy.

I would be surprised if the 'kids go free' will apply tbh, it may not be sold as the 1885 package. Even our poor disabled supporters may have to pay for their carers but again I am not saying that that is a bad thing as the enabler receives the full hospitality too, maybe a concession but not a freebie would be palatable (pun intended).

Anyway, I have probably been led up the garden path and they'll do it for a knock down £125 to prove that nothing is fact until it's on the official site....what do I know..

I am not a ST holder and only get to go to perhaps 5 games a season due to other commitments but I think this is ticketing policy is a shrewd move by NC and to be honest pretty fair. It should mean vast majority of fans in home ends will be supporting Saints and as stated in other posts it will guarantee good crowd for Carlisle. Even if we don't sell out we will have the tv revenue to make up the difference.

Doesnt exactly answer my question but guess the answer is no. So will need to buy ST seat tomorrow and then hope to buy mates tickets next to me when they go on general sale.

Looks like I may be watching it on my own. That will p!ss my manc supporting brother off :-P

Don;t you just love 'mates' who want to go to tghe footie with you one week and the next it's Carlisle and they're busy doing diddly squat. A friend in need (of a Man U ticket) is a friend indeed eh.. Still ....

Under similar circumstances last year (can't remember what match) the club eventually gave in and offered fans the chance to buy linked tickets to a further 2 or 3 games than perviously announced. For those of you in that boat, it's worth waiting on any further news, seeing as you can't buy tickets for another week anyway!

I think they have been clever on this one, maximising profit and encouragement for the Carlisle game for those desperate to attend. This only works because the match is live on ITV, I wonder what would have been offered if that was not the case? It's obvious they are expecting a full house even with a late televised kick off, such must be the pull of ManU. And for all those locals with ManU sprogs, welcome to Carlisle.

There are some aspects here I would not be happy with under normal conditions, but the fact the match is live on ITV takes care of that nicely. But it would not surprise me if we were not a few short of a full house, but the club should have done their homework.

The principle is fair imo, but if its only one ticket per season ticket holder and one per Carlisle ticket - does it mean that if Carlise doesnt sell out then the Man U game wont either - or am I being thick?

You usually are.

absolutely spot on with the ticketing policy for this one if you ask me, not only in restricting it to one per season ticket holder (of which i'm one myself so no vested interest there) and in have a linked game.

My only, tiny, complaint is that they didn't allow for those that had been to more games (say 5 or so) to buy there tickets in the second spell, then reducing it until the point they went on to general linked sale.

All in though i'm very happy with this a good decision from the club and hopefully it means there won't be too many of the plastics/day trippers.

Would have been nice to have an option of matches but I'm happy with that system, would have been nice if people on the database got a day or two over others (unless non database people don't get a chance at all) at least it stops the manure fans coming in the home end (and if they do the club make £20 - £30 for nowt)

Other way round. If Man U doesn't sell out, then it's unlikely that the Carlisle game will, or....

.... if the Man U game sells out then the Carlisle game will also be a sell-out, innit?
