Chez Posted 10 January, 2011 Share Posted 10 January, 2011 If the club wanted, they could offer free / reduced league seats to those who have purchased cup tickets. Very difficult to do trying to tie this in at the time (possibly at any time) with the ManU game, because of the strict FA cup regulations. ignoring FA rules, how would this work? ST holders buying an FA cup ticket get free entry to a league game they have already paid for?

eurosaint Posted 10 January, 2011 Share Posted 10 January, 2011 I think that we should bump the prices as high as possible for this game, say about £50 minimum ! With the extra revenue we could fund a new player to help us get out of this sh#tty league ! Ps. I am out of the country then and unable to attend but it just seems to make sense to me ! It will be £ 30 ish, maybe 28 but certainly no more than £30. It makes sense really.
Whitey Grandad Posted 10 January, 2011 Share Posted 10 January, 2011 Don't forget VAT is now 2.13% higher so a £30 ticket last year would now be £30.64.

From what I remember, we didn't see a drop in price whent the VAT was reduced to 15%, so I wouldn't expect ticketing prices to change before the end of the season. saintwarwick Posted 10 January, 2011 Share Posted 10 January, 2011 I'm a season ticket holder so will be able to get my seat (well one in the Itchen North due to the block 42 exodus). But i agree with those that say season tickets holders shouldn't necessarily get the second ticket. I prefer the idea of season ticket holders getting theirs, then on sale to linked ticket buyers [preferably for two games] on the database, then open up to a second for season ticket holders and those on the database. That way we might see less of the plastic mancs and/or day tripper that pressure people with season tickets. And let's be honest if you're a season ticket holder you'll probably already have had a fair few of these little scrotes texting you. I've had chelsea and spurs "fans" thinking they'll get tickets from me, responded to with a simple **** off any spares are for regular saints fans that can't get tickets. Personally i'd rather use any plus one to guarantee those that pay on the day normally get tickets instead of helping people that go only for games like this [/rant] Think you'll find most season ticket holders will have saints fans as their preferred choice if they could get an extra ticket, it will be only a handful of fans that will hand over to plastic mancs. Chez Posted 10 January, 2011 Share Posted 10 January, 2011 not a chance in hell would I offer my spare ticket to a Manure supporting mate, even if he went home and away and had missed out in their ballot. I would however offer it to my Forest supporting brother in law that attends about 8 or 9 Saints games a year and loosely speaking would support us especially if he's got a few bob on Lambert to score the first goal. Big John Posted 10 January, 2011 Share Posted 10 January, 2011 (edited) /\ horses mouth. ;-) Wonlt be confirmed on the OS as the club have still to agree what time they will televise it. Tallks today. btw, it will be a saturday as both us and Man U have Tuesday games the following week and moving both would cause too many issues for fans (tickets already sold), United away to Villa on the Tuesday then away to Wolves on the saturday, they will want to prepare for both even if they play a second string against us. Carlsberg don't do profiteering but if they did .... Can see both sides of the argument, but to be fair, 150 quid for Corproate Hostility is probably about the same price that Touts will be charging for a normal ticket. There'll be some of us Johnny Foreigner types who are in town and don't go often enough to be on a database who's only chance of a ticket will be Hostility or a tout. Although some of us still have mates who will help out, so why shouldn't the club price the premium tickets accordingly. The Curry Club (GM's post) for 49 quid allowing a bunch of Kids in free is a great idea for League games as it means that a whole new generation of Kids get to games and start to get the Saints Bug for the future. Something that many of us have worried about during our fall (the Kids weren't wearing OUR shirt around town). Don't think Kids going free on a good "deal" to see the Mancs is needed to help get the Red & White flowing through their veins. It's going to sell out and many far more regular fans who have been to 4, 5 or 6 games at full price this season won't have a chance to get tickets. This way although "it can be argued that it is a rip off" at least they have a chance to go. Economic reality vs Semi-Socialist style hand outs. Tough MORAL call, easy business call. I had 3 emails from Man Utd "fans" who never go to games asking if i can get them a ticket, also a couple of Saints. They got the same response. Live Saturday games are timed so that they don't clash with the normal 3 o'clock league programme, so it's normally 12:30 or 5:15. If there is a police concern about drinking before the game then they may move the early one to 11:30. My money's on the evening kick-off on the Saturday.
