Have to say I was well impressed by the clubs handling of the ticket sales this morning. I arrived at 6am because of work and was ushered into the concourse in the away end, presented with a raffle ticket to indicate a place in the queue. Obviously tea and coffee on sale but we were out of the cold. Must be that NC learnt something after walking the queue giving out tea foc after the pompey game. Was very well organised and quite quick. I left with 3 block 41 tickets at 7.20!

Any update on ticket sales for this one?

I'm surprised block 2 still has availability.

If 12,500 were sold to season ticket holders and 4500 away fans allocation, couple of thousand corporate and 7000 sold yesterday would expect us to be up to 30k by the end of the week.

when do they go on sale to database not linked to another game?

There was no queue whatsoever when i went down there at lunchtime, 4 windows open with only two people being served. I said to the guy serving me i thought i'd be queuing for ages, he said it had been very quiet, which was a surprise. Apprantly there are 9,000 left.

update on ticket sales, says over 25,000 sold but I think that might include the away section of 4500, if not then we are up to 29k

It's not really clear.

I can't work out when tickets will go on sale to database without being linked to another game as well.

Anyway, I'm sure we will sell out eventually - hopefully make a similar atmosphere to Leeds last night v Arsenal.

If there are tickets left it goes to show how many of our fanbase are plastics, only looking to go to "big" games. Pretty sad if you ask me that they're not willing to get behind us in games that really matter.

You don't quite get this football lark do you... Us getting bigger gates when man u come to town is the same when we go to some away games in this pish poor league

It happens.. Deal with it

I don't think it will sell out unless it goes on general sale. All this linking tickets, one per membership stuff is ******, I've got 4 mates who want to go yet they can't get one as it stands.

have none of your 4 mates ever bought a ticket before?

or do you know anyone who could lend you customer numbers? View From the Top posted on here that his 4 customer numbers were available to be used. send him a PM

I think they will need to put them on sale to databased unlinked and allow season ticket holders to buy extra for us to sell out.

Indeed. I know someone who wants to go but can't make the Carlisle game. They are happy to buy a linked ticket for any other home game.

Not a chance.

I wish we had similar support to Leeds. From the pictures on the T.V last night it looked like over half of the 34,000(ish) Leeds supporters were stood up and roaring on their team, we would never see anything like this at St. Mary's.

I believe there is a missing word in there near the beginning - otherwise nonsensical and contradictory.

For Pompey last season they let you buy a ticket for other game (s) if you couldn't make the linked home game, i cant see why this would be any different.

they can, i have mates who have bought United tickets and linked it to the Yeovil game instead, also they have let people link it to the Swindon game, but they are just not advertising it on the ticket news in the hope people will buy for Carlisle.

Tell your friend to call up and get a united ticket linked to another home game that they can make.

???

Saints don't have a membership scheme. You just have to be on the database and all that requires is having been to a previous game.

Membership/customer number whatever, my point was that it's daft that some cutomers are prevented from spending their money. They have been to a game previously but with tickets brought by me so they don't register on the database.

There obviously has to be some structure so that loyal fans get first dibs but I don't think first time customers should be put off. As it stands there might be empty seats at SMS while my mates spend their cash down the boozer watching it on Sky.

There are big differences between a membership scheme and being on the ticket database. It has been common practice for the club to do restricted sales and linked games for some games for years. It is hardly out of the blue. They have had plenty of time to get themselves on the database.

They are not arsed about being on some database, they are not that bothered about wether they watch the game live or in the pub. That's my point, if someone who has never been before quite fancies going, they can't. And you never know, if a plastic goes and sees us turn over the best team in the country they might get hooked - it's a good chance to expand the fan base.

But shouldn't the priority not go to people that have been before ahead of someone that hasn't?

Yeah of course, and we don't want the stadium full of Mancs but if it doesn't sell out it would be a missed opportunity.

If it sells out they have got it spot on. My plastic mates don't deserve a ticket over someone who's on the database and willing to buy a Carlisle ticket as well.

If Saints can sell out a stadium for a game Vs Exeter City, i'm sure they can manage to sell out a Saturday afternoon game against Manchester United.....

I had a phone call from a chap I used to work with 8 years ago, not spoken to him for months asked if could get him a couple of tickets, I know he is a plastic Manc. I told him sorry mate but it would be wrong if if I did and took two seat away from Saints fans. He was a little rude with his reply so I told feck off and try his luck and have a go at getting one in the away end.

Tell him if he is that desperate to see Man Utd then tickets at Old Trafford usually go to general sale so he should try there. Or alternatively get a sky sports subscription like 95% of them do.

Very well said. Shows you how much football has changed in the last 15 years really. I just hope these people want to go to get behind saints coz they hate man utd. Its the only justification I can think of.

I'd be inclined to think that sort of thing would only expand Man Utd's fan base, in the main.
