Redbul Posted 10 October, 2008 Share Posted 10 October, 2008 Just back from a 12 day cruise on this ship going to La Coruna, Madeira, Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Lisbon and Vigo (although took a trip to Santiago de Compostela from here). If you have a family and have never cruised before then this is the ship for you. There is so much every member of the family can see and do, stand up comics, tribute type bands, casino, night club, there are kids clubs which will also look after the little ones if you fancy a late night in the bars, casino or clubs. There's a 750 seat theatre on board where we saw some pretty good acts (Kev Orkian, Mike Starky and Darren Day (he was actually pretty funny....)). The ship even has it's own theatre company. There is also a circus school where our brood spent a lot of time. Food. Excellent quality and so much of it. The old addage is true, you need to pack another suitcase with bigger clothes for the 2nd week. The only minor downside is that there was a sizable element of more elderly passengers that lamented the old days of more formal cruising and weren't too happy with this casually dressed and boisterous rabble. (There were more formal evenings if you wanted to get togged up, but it's only a suggested dress code....). Still, there's the Oceana, Aurora, Oriana etc. for that demographic. Brill. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
Kadeem Hardison Posted 10 October, 2008 Share Posted 10 October, 2008 Kids, old people, tribute bands, chicken-in-a-basket style entertainers. All on one floating prison: sounds like my idea of hell.

Even talking to members of the family and friends who have cruised nothing will sway her so I will have to live with the fact I will never do a cruise. Sounds like you had a brilliant time. Book a cruise without her knowing. Drug her and smuggle her aboard in this. It'll be too late once you're at sea.
Jillyanne Posted 11 October, 2008 Share Posted 11 October, 2008 Vigo is a hell hole, I went to the nearest taverna and spent the day there. I have been on Aurora, Oriana, the old Victoria, the old and new Arcadia and several of the Princess Cruises ships and can tell thee that cruising is excellent, especially if you have a family.
