trousers Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 I don't get all this plastics stuff. Surely we just have a number of fans who do 5-15 games per season, it's just they all come to this one. I don't think it's really people who never come. Less of the sensible posts if you don't mind sir.
niceandfriendly Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 Eurgh. What a disgusting team to watch play against Southampton. That's really upset me. Will definitely come down though, would be great if we dumped them out.
MadDogMatt Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 i don't get all this plastics stuff. Surely we just have a number of fans who do 5-15 games per season, it's just they all come to this one. I don't think it's really people who never come. spot on
dune Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 Hope it's on TV so I can watch it without paying for a match ticket.
hamster Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 We will win this one, we will sing 'premier league, yer avin a larf' and Fergie will moan about it. delldays (and the others) do you still not care? not checked the dates but it had better not clash with anything else in my diary. this is the third day in a row that saints have got me; lallana signing, stuffing blackpool and now this. What next I wonder??? Will it be Guly Will it be Oxo We'll have to wait and see ................
Saint 76er Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 I wonder what Mr Cortese thinks of this draw??? Money and exposure on the one hand against big distraction on the other ...
Whitey Grandad Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 The one draw I didn't want. A full stadium and why? So our fans can watch man utd? Never understood it. Some of the extra visitors may well see what a great experience it is to come to a Saints game and come again more regularly?
markr27 Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 Already had three "can you get a ticket for me?" texts... Hopefully, ST holders will get first go, then to those that have been to all three cup games so far or a certain number of games this season etc, rather than straight onto general sale...
Big Dick Last Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 Sh!te. Watch for the ticket chaos when season ticket holders are not given any time to obtain their seats first. Will be nice to see the church full again.
Saint_lambden Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 great , most of the Northam will be gone so sh*te atmosphere with all the little kids who don't know who any of our players are turning up. Ah well bring it on - better placed than last time out. 4-0 , Guly and Lallana hat-trick.
Ziggy Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 I'll be skiing in Austria so hope it's on the box. Great draw.
saintsmonkey Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 Leeds lost their league form so badly last year after beating man utd. However still looking forward to it Team played utd last time out: Davis, James, Perry, Lancashire, Skacel, Smith , McGoldrick, Gillett, Surman, Gobern, Paterson. We are so much better now!
JustMike Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 90 minutes + 4, lalana 1 - 0 perfection! be even better if it was Lallana
LGTL Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 Lets just hope the players don't have one eye on this game for the next 3 weeks...
trousers Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 This will obviously be a severe test of whether the cup will distract the players too much. Here's hoping we don't see any players subconsciously over protecting themselves from 50/50 balls in the games leading up to this one. Human nature and all that...
Redbul Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 What a fantastic draw!!! Win win for us again, just go for them and make a game of it!!! I can't wait!!
SuperMikey Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 I would have preferred a draw with which we could progress to the next round, but it'll be a cracking match regardless! Who knows, we might even sneak it
Whitey Grandad Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 I wonder what Mr Cortese thinks of this draw??? Money and exposure on the one hand against big distraction on the other ... It's sad that Markus could not be here to see it.
Leicestersaint Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 Excellent draw - I predict 6-3 to us! Seriously this is just what we wanted - i full house and frankly we can't lose whatever happens.
benjii Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 Leeds lost their league form so badly last year after beating man utd. However still looking forward to it Team played utd last time out: Davis, James, Perry, Lancashire, Skacel, Smith , McGoldrick, Gillett, Surman, Gobern, Paterson. We are so much better now! Jesus Christ! Add in Mike "useless ****" Riley's red card and dubious penalty and it's a miracle we didn't ship more goals.
Saint Lindford Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 Would have prefered it to be away but never mind. Bound to be a TV game, they play PL games against Blackpool and Vile before and after so could be resting some players. Whatever we will give them a game this time unlike last time. Just have to put up with the plastic mancs for a day singing 'you've only come to see Utd', fecking to££ers
benjii Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 Excellent draw - I predict 6-3 to us! Seriously this is just what we wanted - i full house and frankly we can't lose whatever happens. I think that's the key. If United start to win easily they will probably take their foot off the gas so I can't see a demoralising thrashing on the cards. We are much better than the last time we played them and they are pretty average right now.
S-Clarke Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 At least this gives Owen a chance to tour the facilities before he signs for us.
saints-cris Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 Great tie, well happy witht hat ! Will probably lose but I'm sure we'll give a real good account of ourselves and give it a good go so very much looking forward to it !
Sold To The Man @ The Bar Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 we will better than last time against em, thats for sure Get in Nick ...
trousers Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 Lets just hope the players don't have one eye on this game for the next 3 weeks... At least it'll give those of us who were wary of the cup being a distraction some thing to hark on about... ;-)
Mattio Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 be even better if it was Lallana Shh I was typing quickly!
Nexstar Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 Might have a couple of new additions by that game as well. Not looking forward to £30 for a ticket though
benjii Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 This will obviously be a severe test of whether the cup will distract the players too much. Here's hoping we don't see any players subconsciously over protecting themselves from 50/50 balls in the games leading up to this one. Human nature and all that... We only have 3 matches in the intervening period and the last one of those is a week before so I wouldn't worry too much about the run up. We do have Exeter away on the following Tuesday though.
Whitey Grandad Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 At least this gives Owen a chance to tour the facilities before he signs for us. Nah, he's cup-tied and would be of no use to us in our cup run.
Toomer Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 Excellent draw - I predict 6-3 to us! Seriously this is just what we wanted - i full house and frankly we can't lose whatever happens. What odds will the bookies give on 6-3.
RedWillie Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 and Paterson only lasted baout 20 mins before being sent off.... Leeds lost their league form so badly last year after beating man utd. However still looking forward to it Team played utd last time out: Davis, James, Perry, Lancashire, Skacel, Smith , McGoldrick, Gillett, Surman, Gobern, Paterson. We are so much better now!
Gingeletiss Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 I don't get some of you, for Christ sakes, this gives some of our fellow Sotonions, a chance to see their team for the first time!
Tom8558 Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 brilliant but i think people should have to be able to name at least 11 saints players before they are allowed to by tickets
thorpie the sinner Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 It will be lovely to see Chambo having a run at Gary Neville!!!!
saintpat Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 This will obviously be a severe test of whether the cup will distract the players too much. Here's hoping we don't see any players subconsciously over protecting themselves from 50/50 balls in the games leading up to this one. Human nature and all that... I'm sure Adkins will make sure they understand in no uncertain terms that any lack of effort or commitment(or pulling out of a 50/50) leading up to the game will leave the player watching from the stands for quite a few games.
Mattio Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 How do you think the allocation will go anyway? It was easy enough to get tickets for poopey last year so can't see it being any harder for this?
Saintandy666 Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 How do you think the allocation will go anyway? It was easy enough to get tickets for poopey last year so can't see it being any harder for this? I think if you are a season ticket holder(like me ), it shouldn't be too hard!
LGTL Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 Tickets will be fairly easy to come by i'd imagine.
trousers Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 brilliant but i think people should have to be able to name at least 11 saints players before they are allowed to by tickets Austin, Danns, Stock, Owen, Skacel...
Cabrone Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 Arsenal\Spuds (a) would have been my top draws but this should be a good one. I think we'll give them a good game this time.
Brussels Saint Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 Was sat in the corporates last time for this one, when Rooney came on some Johnson stood up and started applauding, which upset 2 saints fans a few rows back. (I'm going to punch him in the ear etc.) The stewards had to come in and I think they chucked the man u fan out. Getting ejected from the corporate enclosure - classic.
Mattio Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 I think if you are a season ticket holder(like me ), it shouldn't be too hard! I live in Torquay and work some weekends for pennies so don't have one, sorry I'm not superfan, but the question still stands.
trousers Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 I'm sure Adkins will make sure they understand in no uncertain terms that any lack of effort or commitment(or pulling out of a 50/50) leading up to the game will leave the player watching from the stands for quite a few games. But Adkins can't 'man manage' subconscious human behaviour. Even God ****ed that one up.... ;-)
slickmick Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 Leeds lost their league form so badly last year after beating man utd. However still looking forward to it Team played utd last time out: Davis, James, Perry, Lancashire, Skacel, Smith , McGoldrick, Gillett, Surman, Gobern, Paterson. We are so much better now! Morgan started in that game.
Sour Mash Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 Sh!t draw. Got to be one of the longest runs in history of home cup draws.
Saintandy666 Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 I live in Torquay and work some weekends for pennies so don't have one, sorry I'm not superfan, but the question still stands. Don't take what I said as an insult... I'm sure you'll be fine, usually they give it to season ticket holders, and then if you are on the system and I imagine by that point it will be sold out. Are you on the system? If so, you should have a chance.
Minsk Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 Happy with that! As others have said, win-win situation. Just go at them: if we manage to beat them great; if we lose it won't dent morale and we can concentrate on promotion. Will TDD or Dr Who be attending I wonder?
