Nothing on the Ervine situation Steve. He is joining Hampshire in WI and will talk with White. Hope he decides to stay loyal to Hampshire. Will be a massive loss if he decides to play for his home country again.

As for De Wet, the comment on injuries from Gile White may explain - “It may well be the case that we have to manage the players through the season and not everyone plays all cricket, especially the bowling group. Dimi’s [Mascarenhas] had a big operation and he’s working hard over in Melbourne hopeful that he’ll come good and play but he’s a long way off at the moment. Kabir’s [Ali] the same – he’s got a lot of work to do and, at this stage, it would be unrealistic to think he’d play all cricket. Nic’s [Pothas] doing well though and hopefully he’ll be strong from the start, as is Jonah [simon Jones], and Michael Lumb has made a full recovery. Griff’s [David Griffiths] coming good and has started to bowl again although we’re waiting on another scan for David Balcombe. But it’s a big group of players to have question marks over to be honest.”

Dimi is also due to play in the IPL for Kings XI Punjab who have also signed Stuart Broad according to the Hants website, confusing as both seem by all accounts unlikely to play for some time !? Nothing to suggest ( as per another thread) that neither Dimi or Kabir Ali might play again is there ? Kabir seemed very positive at the end of last season, let's hope he can regain fitness.
