bjk Posted 8 January, 2011 Posted 8 January, 2011 Man United away please.8000 Saints fans there.1-0 win Lambert 90 mins. Now that would be good.
alpine_saint Posted 8 January, 2011 Posted 8 January, 2011 Anyone who is a nailed-on certainty to put us out. The longer this cup run goes on, the bigger a distraction it becomes from the real business of this season.
Nexstar Posted 8 January, 2011 Posted 8 January, 2011 United Chelsea Arsenal Villa Stevenage West Ham Fulham Any of the above away please
saints-cris Posted 8 January, 2011 Posted 8 January, 2011 A big side.. that way we can go out, but it wont be that big a deal.
Redbul Posted 8 January, 2011 Posted 8 January, 2011 Man United away please.8000 Saints fans there.1-0 win Lambert 90 mins. Now that would be good. I said Man Ure away to my nipper walking back from the match today. I promised I'd take him to an away leg if we got one, OT would have to do I suppose!!!!
NickG Posted 8 January, 2011 Posted 8 January, 2011 Been to loads of grounds with saints - but for some reason never Old Trafford - always thought would do it "next" season as complacent in div 1 / premiership, regret that now so want a chance to see it!
Lighthouse Posted 8 January, 2011 Posted 8 January, 2011 A trip to the Emirates.... then Leeds go and win their replay. Any big day out or crap team at home will do. It's just a shame that for the first time in 5 years, we could actually do Pompey and Brighton go and beat us to it.
niceandfriendly Posted 8 January, 2011 Posted 8 January, 2011 I hate Manchester United in every way possible so I really hope they don't visit us at St Mary's the *****s. Excuse my language. Anyone but them at home I guess. Someone like Swansea or Watford might be fun to see how we fare against a decent(ish) Championship side. Actually I'd quite like for us to get some revenge on Watford for their numerous defeats of us in recent years.
bjk Posted 8 January, 2011 Author Posted 8 January, 2011 I agree, but we're good enough not to let a cup run put us off this season.
Redbul Posted 8 January, 2011 Posted 8 January, 2011 Been to loads of grounds with saints - but for some reason never Old Trafford - always thought would do it "next" season as complacent in div 1 / premiership, regret that now so want a chance to see it! Tbh you're not missing much. Last time I went there was the last away match there in the Prem where we lost 3-0. Manc tw*ts still bricked our coaches after the match.
niceandfriendly Posted 8 January, 2011 Posted 8 January, 2011 Fulham, Orient, Spurs, Arsenal or Chelsea away. Actually. Yes, this completely. A lovely London away tie would be perfect. Especially Spurs.
Jimmy_D Posted 8 January, 2011 Posted 8 January, 2011 Chelsea away. I'd like to see Stamford Bridge and we might even have an outside chance on a really really good day if Chelsea's awful form continues...
SamyCM Posted 8 January, 2011 Posted 8 January, 2011 I would love a London away day or a big team at home.
Daren W Posted 8 January, 2011 Posted 8 January, 2011 Want: Liverpool or Chelsea at home would do me nicely... West Ham just to give that ***** Grant the final shove out the door... Not: Spurs (too good at the moment) Arsenal (way too good at the moment) Man Utd (Way too good even when they;re playing sh1te)
Daren W Posted 8 January, 2011 Posted 8 January, 2011 Anyone who is a nailed-on certainty to put us out. The longer this cup run goes on, the bigger a distraction it becomes from the real business of this season. Sorry, but how on earth can you say that????
The Majestic Channon Posted 8 January, 2011 Posted 8 January, 2011 Anyone who is a nailed-on certainty to put us out. The longer this cup run goes on, the bigger a distraction it becomes from the real business of this season. Sorry i don´t subscribe to all this distraction crap. As big dave rightly pointed out any win boosts moral and it´s not as if we cant rest players as shown today,we have a good size squad, i want us to go as far as possible.
The Cat Posted 8 January, 2011 Posted 8 January, 2011 Burton away would be fun, or another Prem team at home.
SAFE_SAINT Posted 8 January, 2011 Posted 8 January, 2011 I'm with Adkins- Liverpool at Anfield- have been there since a 0-0 draw on a televised Super Sunday game years ago

Spot on, I think that last years Johnsons Paint run actually made us a better team. The confidence it gave us was noticeable...
70's Mike Posted 8 January, 2011 Posted 8 January, 2011 Spot on, I think that last years Johnsons Paint run actually made us a better team. The confidence it gave us was noticeable... Agree Darren thing that mucked up last season was the -10 points
alpine_saint Posted 8 January, 2011 Posted 8 January, 2011 Sorry, but how on earth can you say that???? Cup runs cost us promotion last season, that's why I say it.
alpine_saint Posted 8 January, 2011 Posted 8 January, 2011 Spot on, I think that last years Johnsons Paint run actually made us a better team. The confidence it gave us was noticeable... Yeah, and all that managerial conflict worked wonders on the club, didnt it ?
70's Mike Posted 8 January, 2011 Posted 8 January, 2011 Cup runs cost us promotion last season, that's why I say it. nothing to do with the -10 points then ?
Griffo Posted 8 January, 2011 Posted 8 January, 2011 We wouldn't take 8000 to United! Would love a big away game, but at a big tie lots of our support would sit down and be boring.
S-Clarke Posted 8 January, 2011 Posted 8 January, 2011 Looks like alpines trying to make himself look silly again. Winning games = good. Cup or not, if you win the games it can only breed confidence.
alpine_saint Posted 8 January, 2011 Posted 8 January, 2011 nothing to do with the -10 points then ? Where did I say it had nothing to do with it ? But it wasnt the whole story either. You forget sh*te performances like Wycombe away, apparently.
alpine_saint Posted 8 January, 2011 Posted 8 January, 2011 Looks like alpines trying to make himself look silly again. Yes, because heaven forbid I degree with the consensus, eh ?
70's Mike Posted 8 January, 2011 Posted 8 January, 2011 Where did I say it had nothing to do with it ? But it wasnt the whole story either. You forget sh*te performances like Wycombe away, apparently. not forgot performances , had to watch many of them, but imo the -10 points was more significant in not getting promotion than the cup run, the trip to wembley and the 50000 who enjoyed it have contributed to the feel good factor and great crowds at sms this season
John Cool Posted 8 January, 2011 Posted 8 January, 2011 Home draw vs. anyone. I don't know why people are against having a run in the cup - we have a large squad to choose from, unlike our blue chums up the M27 :-)
Saint_lambden Posted 8 January, 2011 Posted 8 January, 2011 Anyone at home really , Reading would be nice. Maybe not someone big at home , all the plastics would come out of hiding and bring their annoying little kids along who are more interested in seeing Rooney than Saints. Wouldn't mind away to Arsenal/United/L'pool.
dubai_phil Posted 8 January, 2011 Posted 8 January, 2011 Don't want anyone in the 4th round. We shouldn't be worrying about the cup Tuesday is far more important Bring in the Fringe players. Hell it worked for the 3rd round, if we keep it up we'll disinterest ourselves all the way to Wembley But would love to get a crack at creaking Liverpool at home or a wobbling Villa. Just to see really how much work we need to do in the next couple of seasons. Shame Avram Grunt will have gone from WHU by then or we could have got our own back against him for cheating with his bench last year For a Manc or Chelski at home then would have to check my last freebie BA flights (gotta use them up by end of Feb) even though we'd get tonked. But, somehow I don't think we'd get tonked as badly now by the Mancs as the last cup game if we had a decent ref)
dubai_phil Posted 8 January, 2011 Posted 8 January, 2011 Yes, because heaven forbid I degree with the consensus, eh ? Wow, the education system has changed. You can get a degree in Consensus now? No wonder they want to cut back on the numbers at Uni. Mind you, how cool would that be, employing a team of graduates who have all been trained to say "Yes Boss"
BGF Posted 8 January, 2011 Posted 8 January, 2011 I tend to agree with with Alpine, I know last year we had -10 but this time last year we had to have 3 different teams because we were in 3 different tournament's how does that help the team to gell? Going on our form of last year after having beat some higher team Tuesdays match will be a disaster! I only hope we have improved. Wait for the abuse :-)
