I was delighted to see the standing ovation our fans gave Brett Ormerod when he was substituted towards the end. He gave Saints great service and is a real tryer. Well done everyone.

To be honest even booing Euell was cringeworthy. I cannot recall him doing anything to warrant any abuse other than being in a ****ty set up which was not his own doing.

I didn't boo him but I can understand why people did. He was crap here, never really put in a decent effort and it was very much a case of all quite on the goalscoring front. 5 goals in 2 years, despite being almost ever-present in a forward or attacking midfield possition.

You can say he was a victim of the set-up, and that is true in a sense, but he was as much a part of the problem as he was a victim.

to say he didn't put in a decent effort is wrong IMO. He gave everything in games, but fell short at times in terms of finishing and a little quality. Being crap and not trying are two different things.

Personally I'm happy to see him doing well at Blackpool, the same for Brettie.

I must have been watching a different player, all the time he was with Saints he gave it 100% even if his talent wasn't quite all there.

Well everyone around me was giving him a standing ovation when he went off ...and thoroughly deserved....great player who always gave 100% in a Saints shirt

There really are some clueless prats in the Northam when it comes to booing ex-players.

Brett was a very good servant for us and that header at Villa Park was one of our greatest ever moments.

Was listening on Radio 5. The commentary team were shocked - in a pleasant way - at the "standing ovation from all 4 sides of the ground" as BO went off. Well deserved IMO.

I thought Brett looked slightly embarrassed at the standing ovation, the bloke is an honest footballer who worked chuffing hard for us, in fact he has worked bloody hard throughout his career. The standing ovation showed how much the majority appreciated his time with us, and gave us the opportunity to let him know it.
