Tokyo-Saint Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 Good shout, i'll tell the cow to bring her bell along with her too shall I ? A drum and a stupid 'where's Wally' hat should surfice.
West End Saint Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 We have been on a fantastic run of results would be awesome if we can continue the winning streak but they have a excellent home record only losing 1 all season delighted if we get the win 2 1 seems like a fair bet but I would settle for a draw COYS
dannysfc Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 We have been on a fantastic run of results would be awesome if we can continue the winning streak but they have a excellent home record only losing 1 all season delighted if we get the win 2 1 seems like a fair bet but I would settle for a draw COYS Yeh I agree with West End Saint here as I like everyone else would like to get a win and all 3 points tonight and go above Bournemouth but a draw away at a decent Oldham side is not the end of the world and we will still be in the promotion hunt as well but we will see! I was up for it before I went to bed last night as I had my match and travel tickets ready but I didn't feel well this morning which sucked soo I have given it a miss tonight and will be listening to Dave Merrington on Solent instead and that I should be at Notts County, Tranmere and the Man U games which aint bad! COYR !!
Toomer Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 Forget United this game is more important!!!!!!!!!!!!!
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 Forget United this game is more important!!!!!!!!!!!!! This. Right now I'd be willing to take a draw but if we snatch a win (in off someone's arrrse) I'd jump for joy!
Chin Strain Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 3 nil to Saints. This will be a defining point in our season.
latter day saint Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 1-1 i think as they are tough to beat at home. will have everything crossed for the win though! COYS!
Wade Garrett Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 If we can take our recent form into tonights game we'll win.
Dark Munster Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 meanie Yes, he neglected to mention Seaborne's 2 assists on the Saint's goals.
Smirking_Saint Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 No doubt we have already had the 'we should win every game' crew on. But make no mistake, this will be a tough game, a win tonight will, for me, certainly put a lot of faith in our potential league win, and definately go a long way into showing the league we are the real deal this year. I think we will knick it by the odd goal, 1-0 or 2-1, Dickov seems a decent manager, so no doubt he knows how we play and will attempt to stifle us. Would take a draw tonight, a win would be fantastic though.
itchen_dan Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 Gonna be really difficult. Saints to edge it 2-1! COYS!
Saint dyer Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 would take a draw! 1-1, suppose its one we should be winning if we want to go up as champs though
alpine_saint Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 would take a draw! 1-1, suppose its one we should be winning if we want to go up as champs though This.
Leicestersaint Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 It is going to be tricky but I am hopeful of a win - 3-1 to Saints.
dubai_phil Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 I'll be happy with a battling draw up there, tough game, midweek, long way from home. Be fecking ecstatic with a win but not expecting it
M271 Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 If we can win tonight on a cold dark night, mid week away from home up north, on a poor pitch, against a team that's got a good home record, then it will show how we have progressed far more than recent home games. In the past this has often been the recipe for a disappointing performance, lets hope things have finally changed. COYR
Colinjb Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 A battling 1-0 to us I think. Oldham will make it very difficult for us. Chamberlain with a solo stunner.
SuperSAINT Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 This is a tough one 1-1 I reckon Agree with this. They've only lost once at home this season. Tough nut to crack. Draw wouldn't be a bad result at all.
PokingFun Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 Oldham Away = Draw Notts County Home = ??!? Tranmere Away = Should Win Charlton Home = Win?!? Interesting set of games coming up ... (is there ever an uninteresting period with league 1) ... Whats acceptable? win 2? draw and lose 1? ...if we are going up convincingly we need to win them all but I can see us losing one of those ... Might see the first draw for a while, however if we beat Oldham away tuesday night we might just go on to win the other 3 games, which is why tuesday is so critical ... COYR you can do it In my mind I think all we need to do is pick up an average of 2 points per game (i.e. win our home games and draw or better in away games on average). That is achievable based on our current form and if we continue that then we will end up either 1st / 2nd as no other team seems capable of 2 points per game in this league other than Brighton. 2 home wins and 2 draws I'd be very happy with but 7-9 points should be the minimum target. If we can get 10 or more then that will be excellent.
Badger Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 Davis Richsn Fonte Jaidi Dicksn Chamb Chap Schneidln Lallana Lambert Guly thats the team
Smirking_Saint Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 Very strong side, probably my best 11 TBF
Saint Charlie Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 Puncheon must be going, not even on bench!
beatlesaint Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 No Puncheon, not even on the bench. Unless he is injured I find that very strange, especially after the way he played Saturday. Perhaps that was his "good bye" game ?
Matthew Le God Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 Puncheon is ill according to Radio Solent.
up and away Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 Davis Richsn Fonte Jaidi Dicksn Chamb Chap Schneidln Lallana Lambert Guly thats the team Guly was always going to play, more important to me than Ricky at the moment. Was not sure whether Hammond Or Schneiderlin would play, just hope Morgan has something left in the tank for tonight. I expect Oldham will line up 4411 and I expect Saints to do likewise. If we don't lose the midfield we should win this one (everything crossed).
thorpie the sinner Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 Puncheon must be going, not even on bench! yep, looks like it, hope we get good money!!
Saint Charlie Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 Ferguson there as is Comolli, Punch ill.
madruss Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 Puncheon is genuinely ill ITK? Or do you just not like the guy?
dune Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 I can't see anything other than us winning. I'm gonna go for Oldham 0-3 Saints.
Tom28 Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 We seriously can't be letting Puncheon go. Madness. Forget the fact he might not want to stay-if that was the case, then he managed to play pretty well on Saturday whilst 'not wanting to stay'. He's the sort of player, if Adkins can get the best out of him, that could stay with us all the way up to the Premier League. I'm disappointed in Adkins and Crosby that they've not resolved the issue behind the scene.
saintmatt Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 is there a radio stream anywhere on internet??
Matthew Le God Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 is there a radio stream anywhere on internet?? Yes, on Saints Player.
Saint Garrett Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 is there a radio stream anywhere on internet?? Saints Player
alpine_saint Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 Puncheon is genuinely ill May I ask how u are so sure ?
Matthew Le God Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 May I ask how u are so sure ? He is just quoting BBC Radio Solent who will have had that fed to them by Saints.
alpine_saint Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 He is just quoting BBC Radio Solent who will have had that fed to them by Saints. Exactly.
Andy Durman Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 Right side concerns me. Chamberlain will get tired after 70 mins and we don't have a replacement
Matthew Le God Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 Right side concerns me. Chamberlain will get tired after 70 mins and we don't have a replacement Lots of options tonight for that... Guly has played on the right before and put Barnard upfront. or Lallana on the right, Dickson on the left and bring Harding on at left back. or Danny Butterfield on at right midfield, with Richardson behind to secure the right up late on to hopefully hold a lead.
Um Bongo Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 Gobern on the bench as the only midfielder scares me.
Matthew Le God Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 Gobern on the bench as the only midfielder scares me. Butterfield can and has on numerous occasions played in midfield. Harding go come on at left back and move Dickson into midfield.
alpine_saint Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 Do you want us to win tonight Alpine? What is that for a daft question ? Of course I do.
Turkish Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 Right side concerns me. Chamberlain will get tired after 70 mins and we don't have a replacement we manaaged to cope with that for the two months Puncheon wasn't here.
boxosponge Posted 11 January, 2011 Posted 11 January, 2011 Right side concerns me. Chamberlain will get tired after 70 mins and we don't have a replacement Harding will come on, Dickson to left midfield and Lallana out right. Must say I though Puncheon would be in the squad after Saturday
