The Cat Posted 14 January, 2011 Posted 14 January, 2011 I think Mark does community coaching now. Someone I kind of know works with him sometimes.
Ken Tone Posted 14 January, 2011 Posted 14 January, 2011 My sources tell me that Oxo is taking stock of the situation. Yes but would moving to Arsenal put him on the gravy train?
SamyCM Posted 14 January, 2011 Posted 14 January, 2011 http://www.fanfeedr.com/soccer/2011/01/14/wenger-no-move-for-oxlade-chamberlain Wenger suggesting they aren't close to signing any players.
DrunkenSaint Posted 14 January, 2011 Posted 14 January, 2011 from the sun : SOUTHAMPTON are ready to fight off Manchester United and Liverpool to keep £10million-rated teen sensation Alex Chamberlain, 17. Saints chairman Nicola Cortese said: "Alex isn't going anywhere. He's a great prospect for the future but not the transfer market. "I don't think he would wish to be anywhere else." NC knows he needs to keep his players if he wants to see his dream come true i dont think he will sell, not while we are in a good situation anyways.

Matthew Le God Posted 14 January, 2011 Posted 14 January, 2011 After reading that it is obvious that AOC is off. Not even an attempt to deny it by Adkins, and finishes up by stressing the team is more than one player. Byebye AOC. Watch the interivew in full on Saints Player and he does. As did Cortese in December.
Matthew Le God Posted 14 January, 2011 Posted 14 January, 2011 I'll believe that when its on the OS. Otherwise its just a few recent quotes cobbled together into an article that makes it look like its groundbreaking news. Those quotes are from an interview Adkins did with the BBC yesterday and the whole interview is available in full on Saints Player.
dubai_phil Posted 14 January, 2011 Posted 14 January, 2011 http://www.skysports.com/football/transfer_clockwatch/0,23710,14896,00.html Check 12.04 AOC odds of moving to Arse cut from 4/1 to 1/4! Lol that reminds me of the time when the odds on a certain twitch moving to The Few turned around in an afternoon. Wonder if he's given up on both AoC & Becks and bunged 50 quid on?

Smiley Posted 14 January, 2011 Posted 14 January, 2011 You guys keep referring to solent. What is it?
Saint Charlie Posted 14 January, 2011 Posted 14 January, 2011 You guys keep referring to solent. What is it? Local radio. Look though, no offence he isn't going to go to Liverpool. Why would he? Or any player at the moment? You need more than "King Kenny" to stop you sliding down the table. In a choice of any team in the Premiership I doubt anyone would pick Liverpool at the moment (Scousers excepted). Arsenal, when he does go, is a far better choice.

Arsenal, when he does go, is a far better choice. Rumour that Fergie's pulled out as well. They've got money problems at Old Trafford and have just laid off 15 from the payroll. The 10 referees and 5 linemen are reported to be devastated.
ladysaint Posted 14 January, 2011 Posted 14 January, 2011 (edited) Another rumour is that he has signed for Man City for £10m and will be loned back to us but just a rumour nothing to substantiate this at the moment. They are talking about it on their forum http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=204061 Edited 14 January, 2011 by ladysaint
TheSaint75 Posted 14 January, 2011 Posted 14 January, 2011 As of this afternoon AOC hasn't decided if he wants to go anywhere......if he does it will be Arsenal
Made in Southampton Posted 14 January, 2011 Posted 14 January, 2011 Talksport were just saying that a statement from Arsenal explaining that they are not close to signing anyone.
Reynoldson!! Posted 14 January, 2011 Posted 14 January, 2011 lol TheSaint75. Please don't act 'in the know' about anything, ever again. You don't know jack **** about anything to do with AOC, seriously. Don't pretend your comment has any validity at all. . AOC will still be a Saint come the end of Jan. I guarantee it. This is my final comment on the matter. I've already said too much.

If we manage to keep hold of the hottest transfer target in England then that is a huge statement of the strength we have behind the scenes now.
CB Fry Posted 14 January, 2011 Posted 14 January, 2011 http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2266521,00.html He's NOT for sale according to us. If we manage to keep hold of the hottest transfer target in England then that is a huge statement of the strength we have behind the scenes now. There is nothing in that article that says he is not for sale. Just that it is apparently all speculation, and that no-one has a price on their head. If we keep him until June we've done well.

Draino76 Posted 14 January, 2011 Posted 14 January, 2011 Oxo is going nowhere this season. I am always right BTW. (Apart from accumulators)
CanadaSaint Posted 14 January, 2011 Posted 14 January, 2011 Cortese said in December that Chamberlain wasn't going anywhere. Given Cortese's often-stated commitment to bringing players through the Academy and into the first team - a cornerstone of his idea of a successful club - I think he'll fight tooth and nail to keep Chamberlain. If he succeeds, hot on the heels of Lallana's new contract, his actions will have spoken far louder than any words uttered in an interview. He knows that his handling of those two players poses the biggest test of his reign thus far, and he also knows that a lot of people - well beyond the fan base - are watching.
Matthew Le God Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 There is nothing in that article that says he is not for sale. Just that it is apparently all speculation, and that no-one has a price on their head. If we keep him until June we've done well. The article is just a small part of the interview that can be seen in full on Saints Player. Adkins says in it that Chamberlain won't be sold. Watch it and see... Also Cortese said in December in an interview with the BBC that Chamberlain and Lallana won't be sold. With Lallana signing a four and a half year deal it looks like Cortese means business and the journalists just aren't aware of the financial situation at Saints.
hamster Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 I can't help thinking that the temptaion of beating Saint's 5 year plan to reach the Prem by almost 4 years might be a temptation too far. Not sure what was on the table to keep Adam here but hoping that we see enough in Alex to offer similar riches, then again we need to be wary of being seen as a cash cow.

I'm sure it was we who said "yeah they can have him for 10 mil up front and a sell on clause" And also the Mirror article, didn't we insist on the loan back clause Also notice it is now 5mil up front and 7 mil add ons in the press

Sainst haven't bitten at £10m. 2. Sainst are a L1 club, they can't resist. 3. Sainst must be after more money. 4. So long as it's not defamatory I can write what I want; it's called freedom of the press.
teamsaint Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 everybody has their price. but I really can't see NC risking promotion for 5m. 10 m cash might be worth the risk, assuming we have a class replacement lined up

conaero Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 I agree that the club are not offering him for sale, nor are they going to consider offers. The problem is that if OXO himself decides he wants to go, there is not alot the club can do about it, we all know how the players can stamp their feet and with Man Yoo, Arsenal and Lpool lawyers on your case, it cant be a very pleasant place for our club to be in at the moment.
Mattio Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 All this speculation can't be good for AOC's head though, just hope it doesn't effect his game

Saint 76er Posted 15 January, 2011 Posted 15 January, 2011 Adam Blackmore on Solent has just said that he has today heard from a trusted source outside the club that Oxo to Arsenal is definitely back on, with a loan back for this season. Blackmore was very confident of the bona fides of his source ...

Not this window, but relatively soon.
