Maybe he's just 30 and has been playing for a long long time.Footballers go downhill at different rates from 27/28 onwards, especially those who had a bit of pace from the outset.Plenty have jacked it in at 30 so any time after that is just a retirement bonus.

Agree that he's coasted for the last few years and maybe hasn't made the best of his talent - but I'll always love him for that celebration in front of the skates after he scored against them at Stamford Bridge!

Not really played enough since he left us, always been replaced. Possibly we just think he is good 'cos he was one of ours

If Wayne Bridge is indeed having it away with Frankie Sanford, that must be the first time in years he's made any effort on a Saturday.

I've watched him a few times on TV and thought he has been very poor. He doesn't look like he is enjoying his football at all - for this I do feel sad for him knowing that he was a great left back not too long ago.

 

Having said that, the amount of money footballers now earn has pretty much broken any bonding with fans which is why most have no sympathy for either one.
