Lallana Signs 4 and a half year deal!

I have repeatedly said on here that Lallana wanted to play for Saints and was not worried about the lack of a contract offer. He knew the right offer wold be made and so it has.

Never worried about the so called ITK's saying otherwise. That is not what the family were saying to me.

Adam has a good agent who is looking after him the right way and has a fantastic family who he listens to.

Now very important that we get promotion so that Adam can demonstrate his talent on a higher stage.

Very true, something you have consistently said for a good while now. Just out of interest, did you have any clue this was in the offing?

It has repeatedly been shown that there are no ITK any more. The club has tightened up on the visitors and others allowed around the club, especially the training ground.

As fans we are locked into the club and it's rare when you get a player echo the fans position in an action such as this. That maybe over the top, but it's along those lines. I noticed the comment "People often say, 'I want to play at the highest level', but there's not that guarantee of playing. which appears relevant to signing the deal. It would not surprise me that feedback and watching his friend Andrew Surman could well be a strong influence here. It's vital for a young players progress to be in the thick of the action where it matters, something he just would not get for playing in the reserves. Looking at Theo and I expect most of us would believe he would have developed far better if he stayed another couple of seasons with us or a similar club. Where he would be given an automatic start and allowed the luxury of learning from his mistakes.

WIN WIN for us, this means he is staying for definate till the end of the season. If we dont go up then he will go, even if we do go up it doesnt secure him staying but what it does do is is stabalise any negotiations going forward with clubs trying to purchase him.

I knew he was waiting for Cortese to approach but not when. Before Christmas no approach had been made but he was cool about it. He did turn down an offer from Saints in the close season but Cortese just promised to revisit, which he clearly did.

Will not know the details as I will not breach a freindshiip by asking.

Adam wants to play Premier football. His family are realistic that the best was of achieving that is by stepping stones playing regular football and that means via the Championship. They are all great Saints Suppporters including Adam and that helps.

Andrew was unlucky in that he was sold to keep the club going. He would have preferred to stay. Sheff Utd and Wolves came in for him and he was sold on Wolves. An early injury did not help.

Lambert of Norwich went after him even going out to see him to get his signatture whn he was on honeymoon. Promise of regular football was the draw. Although it was less money with appearance and win bonus there was very little in it. Unortunately he has suffered a bad knee injury and out at least until Feb, possibly longer.

Just come off the phone from his family. Told them of the positives on this thread. They are delighted with the reaction

Interesting team selection today but I cannot give details. Just to say Adam starts unless late changes so supporters will have a chance to let him know of their delight.

I've called for the club to offer Lallana, Morgan and Chamberlain five year deals and what do you know Lallana is offered exactly that. Absolutely brilliant news, what a fantastic few weeks we've had. Onwards and upwards. Looking forward to shouting his name today if he plays

Puncheon to start maybe? I guess the club will have given Adam an insight into future plans/signings so the fact he has bought into this is very good news.

My heart said he would stay but my head always thought he'd move on to bigger and better things.

What fantastic news to wake up to!

Signing of the window, without question.

Full credit to Cortese and Adkins, and a massive thankyou to Adam himself.

Lallana has the ability to one day play in the Premier League, now I just hope that is with us.

COYR!

Fantastic news.

Goes to show the intent of the Marcus legacy and NC. There IS money there to be spent in the right places.

The master plan is to develop a Barcelona type set up where home grown players are developed and kept.

This shows the intent of the next stage of the master plan and show we are no longer a selling club....now we need AOC to stay.

I think we as fans are still struggling to come to terms with new Saints.....a Saints with a future.....and dare we hope (scared to hope) a big future.

Well done NC, NA and Adam.

Quite simply the best signing we could have made during this window. Great news all round and thanks to all involved.

I'm not naive to think he wouldn't jump ship if a big top flight club came in for him, but at least we will now be able to dictate what fee we want (that said, wouldn't be surprised if there is a get out clause written in the contract if Lallana wants to go and a minimum fee is met).

But for now, over the moon that he has committed himself to us.

Wonder what they have offered him per week (and as a bonus)???

Absolutely made up with this news, i know that he could still move on and all that but IMO if that was a close thought in his mind he would have let his contract run down.

Massive thanks to Adam, NC, Adkins and anyone else involved in the signature... great signing.

As for NI Delldays, what do you expect ? The man seems a bit of a plank.

when you pop over to the uglies..he has nothing really good to say about the club...he just moans at the time he has to wait at the ticket office and how many advertisement boards are missing around the pitch
