Just the sort of news to give everyone a lift before todays game also sends out a message to other clubs that we do not intend to sell our best young players (Oxo take note) also any potential signings that we are looking at will see this as a sign of intent.

Finally, we have a wise scouting network, up & coming manager & a chairman that realises the steps for success & owners supporting our dream. Not rocket science but when absolute imbeciles steer your ship, we've seen what can happen. Thank Markus he rid us of that cherry cheeked tosser!

Couldn't agree more. Lowe gave a 5 year contract to Tommy Forecast . NC gives 4 and a half years to La God. Says it all really!!

of course it could be a clever business move. All of a sudden a player who could walk for nothing in the summer will have to be prized away for big bucks if anyone wants him.

The club win both ways, we get a good player who can settle and if we get a fantastic offer there is a good payday.

I have repeatedly said on here that Lallana wanted to play for Saints and was not worried about the lack of a contract offer. He knew the right offer wold be made and so it has.

Never worried about the so called ITK's saying otherwise. That is not what the family were saying to me.

Adam has a good agent who is looking after him the right way and has a fantastic family who he listens to.

Now very important that we get promotion so that Adam can demonstrate his talent on a higher stage.

Tremendous news, and a great 'statement', the prospect of AL leaving in the next four weeks would have left us motally and psycologically wounded for the promotion surge ahead.

Great news! I love watching Adam turn oppostion players inside out on the pitch (having said that my 9 year olds opinion of him has changed when he read that Adam prefers to read a book than play fifa11:lol:)

My feelings of joy are only slightly tempered by the fact that a contract doesn't mean he won't leave if the right offer comes in. At least now anyone who wants him will have to part with a lot of money.

That of course is true, but is likely to be influenced by our own progress and as you say we should (depending on the clause in his contract) be able to negotiate for a better fee.

Also, like the fact its another 11.26PM exclusive on the Saints site.
