Legod Third Coming Posted 5 January, 2011 Posted 5 January, 2011 Scored twice for Newcastle? Is that our ex Leon Best - laziest player I ever saw???
Colinjb Posted 5 January, 2011 Posted 5 January, 2011 Make that a hat-trick. Yes, THAT Leon Best has scored a premier league Hat-trick.
Justin C Posted 5 January, 2011 Posted 5 January, 2011 Yet people on here don't think he is good enough for us in Div 3!
dubai_phil Posted 5 January, 2011 Posted 5 January, 2011 Well, he had PL experience playing for us. Everton away wasn't it?
scott_saints Posted 5 January, 2011 Posted 5 January, 2011 All players do s**t when they leave Saints though, allegedly?
Legod Third Coming Posted 5 January, 2011 Author Posted 5 January, 2011 Yet people on here don't think he is good enough for us in Div 3! To be fair, even a stopped clock is right twice a day... Where the hell has he been then?
Legod Third Coming Posted 5 January, 2011 Author Posted 5 January, 2011 Mind you their Manager's not good enough for League One either...
Justin C Posted 5 January, 2011 Posted 5 January, 2011 To be fair, even a stopped clock is right twice a day... Where the hell has he been then? Been out injured for a while and only just bag.
Deppo Posted 5 January, 2011 Posted 5 January, 2011 They are his first goals for Newcastle since he signed, TBF.
Legod Third Coming Posted 5 January, 2011 Author Posted 5 January, 2011 As an aside... Lol @ Liverpool No don't, I have had a bet on Blackburn to go down at 13/2 - I need them to lose!!
saint lard Posted 5 January, 2011 Posted 5 January, 2011 Mr Pardew is not doing too badly thus far,be it against a **** poor West Ham tonight.

dubai_phil Posted 5 January, 2011 Posted 5 January, 2011 Lol AP puts the final nail in Avram Grunts' coffin Blackburn can turn Woy over without Ronaldinho, perhaps Comoli was looking at a new CB - Fonte
ART Posted 5 January, 2011 Posted 5 January, 2011 "Newcastle fans are licking their lips at the way Pardow's got the team playing" + "The Newcastle fans are over the moon at the prospects of Carrol and Best playing together up front" Sporting Life.
Thedelldays Posted 5 January, 2011 Posted 5 January, 2011 "Newcastle fans are licking their lips at the way Pardow's got the team playing" + "The Newcastle fans are over the moon at the prospects of Carrol and Best playing together up front" Sporting Life. They have already beaten a team 6-0 this season.. And still the owner sacked the manager.. Odd club
Saint_clark Posted 5 January, 2011 Posted 5 January, 2011 They are his first goals for Newcastle since he signed, TBF. He's been injured up until about a week ago, hasn't he?
VectisSaint Posted 5 January, 2011 Posted 5 January, 2011 They are his first goals for Newcastle since he signed, TBF. True, but he hasn't played at all this season (apart from short sub appearance last game) due to cruciate ligament injury and only played about 8 times total last season. What odds on 4 PL managers being sacked tomorrow: Grant, Hodgson, Ancelotti & Houllier must all be slightly concerned at their future job prospects?
SparkySaint Posted 5 January, 2011 Posted 5 January, 2011 No don't, I have had a bet on Blackburn to go down at 13/2 - I need them to lose!! Why would you put money on Liverpool to win away? Did you make a mistake on your betting slip?
SparkySaint Posted 5 January, 2011 Posted 5 January, 2011 Oh sorry I didn't read that properly. What a bozo
The Majestic Channon Posted 5 January, 2011 Posted 5 January, 2011 Well done Alan pardew and long may it continue.
gjphilsaint Posted 5 January, 2011 Posted 5 January, 2011 A flash in a very small pan. But TBH WHU are carp!!!!
doddisalegend Posted 5 January, 2011 Posted 5 January, 2011 They have already beaten a team 6-0 this season.. And still the owner sacked the manager.. Odd club yes, only odd clubs sack the manager after thrashing a league rival.................
Saint-scooby Posted 5 January, 2011 Posted 5 January, 2011 Tiz all short lived bollards , there will be a massive demand for new managers soon. Even Stuart Grey started a new job last week
SuperSAINT Posted 5 January, 2011 Posted 5 January, 2011 Well, he had PL experience playing for us. Everton away wasn't it? I remember that, Phil! - Played with Blackstock.... I remember us having about 6 strikers injured that day!
Smirking_Saint Posted 5 January, 2011 Posted 5 January, 2011 Best wasn't that bad TBF, i thought he looked quite a good player.
Smirking_Saint Posted 5 January, 2011 Posted 5 January, 2011 yes, only odd clubs sack the manager after thrashing a league rival................. It was quite lucky mind, and we now have the most on-form manager in the league. Pardew had to go, it will only be a matter of time at Newcastle
Kingsbridge Saint Posted 5 January, 2011 Posted 5 January, 2011 Obviously none of them were penalties. See you next Tuesday.
Colbury Posted 5 January, 2011 Posted 5 January, 2011 Never will forgive the clown for in my eyes almost single handily losing us that play off semi. Offside pretty much every time we tried to attack. Own goal. Didn't pass to Idiakez for a tap-in in extra time. Then blazed his penalty embarrassingly wide. Unbelievable how he has scored a prem hat-trick, then again it was only West Ham....
Red and White Army Posted 5 January, 2011 Posted 5 January, 2011 They have already beaten a team 6-0 this season.. And still the owner sacked the manager.. Odd club We beat a team 4-0 away and our manager was still sacked. Odd club?
forever a red and white Posted 6 January, 2011 Posted 6 January, 2011 never the most intelligent player but a good goalscorer. Helped fire us to play-offs with some key goals, nowrich away and helped Yeovil to play-offs before that.

Thedelldays Posted 6 January, 2011 Posted 6 January, 2011 (edited) We beat a team 4-0 away and our manager was still sacked. Odd club? no...we are sitting 2nd in our league. also, dont know if you have noticed but everyone is beating brizzle, they are going down my god..are we going to get the usual suspects (that somehow dont rate adkins) drooling for pardew every time newcastle win..? if that is the case, it will only be fair that when they lose, balance is given.....im sure they will lose more than they will win Edited 6 January, 2011 by Thedelldays

AP is still well thought of by most saints fans regardless how NA is doing ( fantastically) . I know it will hurt you if AP does well, it will mean you won´t be able to say " i told you so"

dubai_phil Posted 6 January, 2011 Posted 6 January, 2011 He was playing against West Ham. Reading the match reports their defence seemed about as focused as an Aussie batsman. Best scored 3 goals - well done to the lad. The reports also say that he was "completely unmarked" for all 3 of them. So either he developed a superhuman talent to shrug off markers in the box or he had a good day at the office. Likewise with AP. He's gone, good luck to him. Other managers have left/been fired don't see so many debates about Dave Jones, 'Arry and others. AP is a PL manager. If he lasts longer than 18 months he will have done a good job up there. But he isn't going to win the title, and Cashlessly doesn't have the funds to take them into the CL. For AP in their first season back up, staying up and keeping hold of Carroll would be a success. Next year the muppet fans up there will be demanding his sacking beacuase they aren't challenging for 4th place. And Best will be back on the bench having had his moment and being a Squad player, which is IMHO all he ever will be at that level

No-one should have let Best take a pen under such pressure, at least he had the guts to step up when all of our experienced players bottled it. As usual we put all the effort into making Best into a good player and then let him go when he is finally coming good.
ottery st mary Posted 6 January, 2011 Posted 6 January, 2011 If none of that had happened we'd probably still have Mr Lowe at the helm.... Perhaps we should be thanking Leon Best rather than struggling to forgive him...? ;-) YES....Thank you sooooo much Leon..you are a star..
Patrick Bateman Posted 6 January, 2011 Posted 6 January, 2011 Yet people on here don't think he is good enough for us in Div 3! It's a simple fact that some players fit in at other teams with the players, staff and fans. Some players won't do well at Saints, some do. Look at Kevin Davies and his first spell with Saints and then his Blackburn spell? Saints could sign the striker with the best goal-scoring record in the Prem, but is he doesn't settle and doesn't gel with the staff, he'd be sh*t. I also think that maturity has a lot to do with it. Best wasn't brilliant at Saints and wanted out, whether that's because he hadn't settled, thought he was bigger than were Saints were in the league or a mixture of both, he wasn't right. Fair play to him for now scoring a hattrick in the Prem - but doesn't mean he'd settle and do it here. He may well do, but we're not going to find out, so it's a pointless argument. Ahem. Grump.
Viking Warrior Posted 6 January, 2011 Posted 6 January, 2011 leon best will soon fall out of bed once his honeymoon perod is over. Defenders will soon be able to read his game. he is not a potent striker. Even skatchel has found his playing level again with hearts. Oh an another saints favoutrite Yoan Folly was doing okay with Aberdeen till he broke his leg last week. Hearts and berdeen are not exactly premiership let alone championship levels of teams I was not impressed with best and just because he scored a hatrick lastnight does not change my mind one bit
doddisalegend Posted 6 January, 2011 Posted 6 January, 2011 no...we are sitting 2nd in our league. also, dont know if you have noticed but everyone is beating brizzle, they are going down my god..are we going to get the usual suspects (that somehow dont rate adkins) drooling for pardew every time newcastle win..? if that is the case, it will only be fair that when they lose, balance is given.....im sure they will lose more than they will win I think you're missing the point calling Newcastle an odd club for doing just the same as saints is........... well odd. No one said Nigel isn't doing a good job, just that both saints and Newcastle sacked managers after good results. No doubt the Newcastle senior management thought they were doing the right thing just as saints did, for all we know Houghton could have been sacked for touching up Joey Barton in the showers after trainning. More to the point this thread highlights just how many players (and managers) seem to go onto better things after leaving us. It's amazing how many ex players that fans said were s hit seem to be plying their trade higher up in the footballing world. Maybe that mean us fans really don't have a ****ing clue...........
doddisalegend Posted 6 January, 2011 Posted 6 January, 2011 If none of that had happened we'd probably still have Mr Lowe at the helm.... Perhaps we should be thanking Leon Best rather than struggling to forgive him...? ;-) On the other hand we might be in the PL right now. Now theres a question. I wonder if people would rather be in the PL today with lowe in charge or in league 1 with the current set up?
St_Tel49 Posted 6 January, 2011 Posted 6 January, 2011 On the other hand we might be in the PL right now. Now theres a question. I wonder if people would rather be in the PL today with lowe in charge or in league 1 with the current set up? That is one of those "What if?" discussions which people love but don't actually get you anywhere. You can't change history! (I'm bidding for Most Obvious Statement of the Day Award )
