Hi all,

Im going up to the above for my Dad's 60th Birthday, and have hospitality in their Club75.

I've today booked 2 rooms in a hotel that is 5 mins from the ground and 10 from the town centre. Total cost was £109.00 including Breakfast for the 4 of us - £54.50 per room.

Bargain.

Thought i'd share the info for others thinking of staying up.

Location wise that's pretty good. I know P'boro reasonably well and even if there's no hotel parking there's plenty of street parking in the area.

Will be doing the train up and the train back same day. Can't see more than 1,000 making the trip though.

Eh? 1000? It's only just north of London, hardly a tough journey under one hour from kings cross and its not a bad drive either.

Peterborough have one of the best terraced away ends left in English football , worth going just for that.

If I give you £27.75, can I share your bed?

No, not sure the Mrs will be happy...but they have single rooms for £30 I think.

I will book that, and you can have the Mrs!

For fans travelling by train make sure you equire about the cost of splitting the journey. You can get very reasonable off peak deals from P'boro to London Kings Cross.

Where is the pub by a river under a bridge that away fans use alledgedly

It's under the bridge by the river. Hope that helps.

Are tickets on sale yet. Been on the OS site and there is no mention of tickets for this game yet. Might it be that it coincides with FAC 4th rd and Saints are waiting to see?

Many including myself have been there before for the Carling cup game a few years ago. My guess is about 1500.

Yeah plenty of us been there before as well, still think it should be a good turn out, especially if our good form continues.

I'm thinking of sitting in the glebe road stand with the P'boro fans. Have stood on both the London road and glebe road terraces back in the day and that noddy new stand certainly gives a brilliant view of the game.

Charters is the pub under the bridge.

Not that i go there every week...And sample the cask ales....

But gets busy very quick.

But they now have a marquee outside selling alcohol.

Good Thai food as well.

I have taken rooms at the Charlotte House Hotel.

The hotel is a Victorian listed building, therefore I shall be wearing suitable period apparel, and will travel to the ground by horse and carriage.

It is most well-appointed and reasonably priced for the travelling gentleman of my class.

I am so lucky on this one. We'll be staying with my daughter in Stamford. (20 minutes up the A1) FWIW when we played Posh my Daughter (a Hog) sat with us in the Chapel, and my Son-in-Law in the 'away end' She will be with us in the 'away end' at Posh. He said before the game 'You'll thrash us as we've no defence to speak of'. From what I hear nothing's changed under the 'Chosen ones' son!

I like Stamford - very nice Georgian town. If you get time visit Burghley house - you'll struggle to visit a better Elizabethan country house. They have the worlds largest solid silver wine cooler on display - it's priceless and very impressive!

I would have thought that you would need to be paid to stay in Peterboghorror.

I lived in a pleasant outskirts village for ten years before moving to Cambridge.

I only go when absolutely necessary, can't abide the place.

Stamford is nice though, as are the many of the surrounding villages.

Just tried to buy tickets but the game's not listed in the online sales - have I missed something, do you all already have tickets ???

Don't think they're on sale yet.
