Depends on how ambitious their new owners are planning to be in January, could be disruptive or inject them new vigour. Means investment to ensure promotion for us rather vital, no taking chances.

perhaps they will go for Eddie Howe. Sooner or later a club will take him, as he has done wonders with no funds at all. I'm sure he must be tired of having no money to spend and a constant weakening of his squad

I get the feeling that he is so far inside his comfort zone, under no pressure, and such a 'one club' man that he will only ever leave Bournemouth if he is sacked.

I'm not so sure, he came to us to be interviewed. Whilst their PR said he didnt take the job offer up, he still went along.

I believe they need the money and so would be dleighted to give him permission to leave.

Good news or bad:?

Depends entirely on who they bring in to replace him. Personally I think it's bad for them and good for us. Not that I thought Parky was a genius or anything, it's just that instability at such a crucial time of the season isn't good. The new man will have no time to bring in new January signings and by the time he will have gotten to know the squad, there will only be a couple of months left of the season.

In short, could go either way, but at the moment I'd say good.

Obviously not the new board's man. And yes, New manager syndrome will kick in when they play us. ;)

Sainst recent form and 2nd. spot has sent ripples through a lot of L1 boardrooms ..don't expect Parkinson to be the last head to fall as clubs will get desperate to keep up with the leaders.

Think the next step for us is to try and break away from the 7 odd teams below us. We will need a good run to do that. If Brighton's form drops we may well overtake them. If it doesn't its not the end of the world.

I think it makes bugger all difference as their new board has already stated that they will have little or no money to spend so a new manager will have the same players.

That football is completely mad. As has been stated. If Charlton had won yesterday they'd have the same points total as us. And they've been above us for most of the season. I can't see how bringing in a new manager is going to improve them if they have no money to improve the squad.

That's crazy, if they had won yesterday they would be level on points with us -where exactly do Charlton think they should be?

absolute madness. He has done a brilliant job there to turn that club around considering they have sold pretty much evey player with a value over the last 18 months. I am extremely surprised they are near the top this season, all done on a shoestring budget. Amazingly Parkinson got manager of the month in November. I can see them going backwards after this decision as the new manager won't get funds.

Much more important is that Stockport have sacked Simpson, the only man to see the merits of A Pulis Jr as a footballer (other than his Dad of course). The new man may have a different view, this could be seriously bad news for us. AP has now played 11 times for County, he is now becoming quite an experienced player, over 20 professional appearances now.

I think there lose there games until someone comes in like what happened to us, so it's good news that's his team and players he worked with no money the year they went down and done well last season again with no money good manager IMO

I think there is more chance of this being a poor decision that works in our favour, than one that sees them suddenly pick-up form. It seems there's no immediate plan to appoint someone - I suspect the players are wondering WTF?! They'll be floundering for a little while I suspect, but will still probably make the play-offs.

I'd be worried if I was a Charlon fan...

Charlton Athletic's new owners are decisive: they sacked the manager Phil Parkinson yesterday within 24 hours of taking control. What else do we know about them?

Well, Charlton's website yesterday described Tony Jimenez and Michael Slater respectively as "an international property developer" and "a lawyer and businessman". The pair hold their interest in Charlton through CAFC Holdings Limited, "a company managed and controlled in Switzerland", though its registration is held in the offshore tax haven of the British Virgin Islands.

Charlton's chairman, Slater, as the club's website explains, began work as a solicitor. Indeed, a Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal in August 2007, although clearing him of the primary allegations, found "the way in which [slater] conducted himself could well be detrimental to the good reputation of the solicitors' profession as a whole". A spokesman for Slater said yesterday: "Allegations were made and these were 100% rejected by the SDT."

As for Jimenez, the former vice‑president (player recruitment) at Newcastle United, Digger hopes his international property development interests have more life to them than those UK businesses on whose board he has served. Of the 17 UK companies where has been a director, 16 have been dissolved. The 17th is also set to be, either this month or next. "Tony has been a successful businessman in international property over the last 20 years," the spokesman added.

100% - what the feck do their board expect with their resources?

They made the play-offs last season and were well on track to do the same again...

Still now that Himinez and Wise are in charge, maybe Keegan's on his way! ;)

A mate and his dad are big cafc supporters and everything wrong they have ever said about charlton has been parkey... Both of them have been calling for his head since that televised game back at the start of the season as (in their view) he's repeatedly picked a team based on training ground promise instead of in game form (my best explanation for their views either way).

So most of you are right in saying that this is a weird move as they are only a point behind us and are pushing for automatic promotion, but the main problem is that with the resources parkey had is that he should be right between us and brighton (or level with brighton) as there have been too many poor match performances, with being hopeless for an hour against a 10 man colchester being the final straw...

Only thing that makes it worse is they are not fans of denis wise either :)

I work in Dartford with a few Charlton fans and they are shocked, the football may not be great but the resources are small and all in all they are happy with their league position.

This decision shows that CAFC owners know jack ****, their first decision has cost the club over £500,000 and destabilised the team and if the rumours are correct and it is Wise then they will need all the luck they can get.

Especially as we now know the secret of Wise's success....

As an "outsider" I was surprised at the decision as I thought he'd been doing well on a limited budget, but the Charlton fans I know didn't seem to rate him at all.
