Im amazed if the server couldnt cope today. What will happen if we get to bigger games, and perhaps the CCC and beyond?????

I was under the impression that we had a big unveiling of the site a few months back, and could cope with most things!!!!!

Im confident that Baj and Steve will let us know what is going on.

Away matches at small grounds would tend to be the heaviest on the forum as they leave the most amount of fans at home trying to keep track of the game. (ie. on here)

I'm sure steve and baj will have a look at what happened and sort something out.

We understand that the server issues are not the mods concern. Personally, I was answering to St. Chalet not as a mod, but any other user that might complain about "Unnecessary" posts in a match thread. This is a forum, not a news page. That's all, really. :)

That's how I understood your comments Ohio.

I think most of our last managers struggled getting results away at teams like today. Perhaps where NA has been there and done it, it puts us in good stead

Oh well, thats me convinced.

Can NA walk on water and change the aforementioned water into wine.It appears he can do anything that others can't do.

If he does not get us promoted he will need a bloody miracle.

As i stated in a previous post, mother Theresa would be able to get this squad out of this league atleast she will be in good company with the god like status many have put upon NA.

Best of all for me was Nigel Adkins post-match piece on Solent. Loved his upbeat anything is possible style, obviously a guy full of all fired up and thinking only positive thoughts... now, I am beginning to war to him, so long as he delivers the PL title in 2014.

Also, cancel that friggin' cab.

Guly, Guly sign those forms!

Let's NOT lose to Blackpool.

Neither team is that bothered about a cup run this season. Blackpool could well rest a few players and don't want a draw any more than we do. I reckon it'll be end to end stuff from both teams and at home we can give anyone a game. I vote we go all out for a win and see what happens.

For God's sake, man, give it a rest. You made it very clear that you didn't want him here in the first place, largely because you knew nothing at all about him. Since then it has been a succession of snide digs and comments in a futile attempt to prove yourself right, coupled with righteous indignation if someone takes issue with your constant uni-topic bleating.

When it comes to constantly banging on about the same topic without any basis in fact, and when it comes to doing it again and again when everyone's sick of hearing it, you and Dalek have no peers.

It brings to mind that line in Good Morning Vietnam - "I've never seen anyone in more dire need of a blow job".

So that makes Mother Theresa a possible future manager at Newcastle as Pardew didn't show any signs of title winning form did he?

Seriously, today we made a real stride towards pushing for the title and were minutes away from pulling back 2 points on Brighton and you're on here moaning about the manager who has guided us to three successive wins and 11 goals...

How utterly, utterly childish...

Why do you have to be so radical with your comments about NA and the associated sarcasm? I don't see anyone think he walks on water, just comments that he is doing a very good job for us in the early part of his career. I don't think anyone can dispute that at all. Averaging over 2 points per game assuming it continues (and there is no reason to feel it wouldnt) is simply a good effort that will get the automatic promotion we need and god like status does not come into it. Contrary to what you think, it is not easy to get a team full of perceived stars for the level to perform consistently (E.g. Chelsea right now) but that is exactly what NA is doing so at L1 level. If we all took your view then NA is clearly on a hiding to nothing as if he gets the team up anyone could have done it but if he was to fail he would get slated. With you he cannot win.

what a great result with having made changes to a squad which won well on saturday and playing a team fighting for their lives on a questionable surface i think it will prove a huge boost to both the players and fans confidence. we are proving to be able to really push for a top two finish this season.

i wholey admit i didnt like guly in his earlier games i thought his shooting passing and headiing left alot to be desired but he did have the willingness to run and work hard that maybe being his greatest attribute in what has seen him get to grips more with the english game and me to change my opinion of him. When he was chosen I said i thought he was a very good appointment and what he has done since then has only served to convince me that i was guilty of understatement. He is doing very well so let's just enjoy it and appreciate it!

If we keep winning like this, we'll start putting pressure on the Brighton players and maybe affect their performances.

First job over the next few games is to catch up with Brighton's goal difference. Even if they keep pace with our points that WILL make them take a glance down, and that could make all the difference.

Daggers fans may complain that the ref gave crucial decisions in favour of the "big team", but on balance of play a Saints win was richly deservered. We are threatening to go on a big winning streak and blast clear of the pack. We don't even need to buy many players - just one or two such as making Guly permanent. Cue the Kaiser Chiefs: "Guly Guly Guly Guly (aaa aaa aaa aaa aaa)"

just back from daggers.great performance from saints.daggers just play in an old wimbledon style, very boring.fonte and jaihdi dominated and apart from their goal we looked fairly comfortable until the last five minutes when we always seem to come undone.not sure if they did score a second as it was down the other end from us.luckily rickie got us a third.motm has to go to guly, really has come into his own compared to his first appearances for us.weve more away games like this but as long as we keep doing what brighton are doing we will be ok.onwards and upwards with nigel adkins.wifm, coys i will put some video clips up later

changed your tune, yesterday you said you would end up in playoffs?

Good to see 3 of the 4 south coast teams doing well

Well, I said in the build up thread that I did agree with Alpine - this was a traditional banana skin, and a game last year we would have likely lost. I said we needed to battle for the right to play our football and from the commentary I heard it sounded like we picked a side and played in a way to do just that.

Sure we managed to get a squeaky bum moment or 3 and yes I was damned annoyed that the forum decided to shut down again - obviously it is all my fault as I've not been able to get on match threads for a month and I posted a picture.

But surely, with "small away grounds and many fans wanting to be on here to keep up to date" shouldn't they be on the match text commentary thread?

The match thread is an important part of the soul of this forum, it gives us a laugh whether we play well or badly. Where else can we have a good smirk at the postings of our ANTS sufferers without getting told off or infracted for having a pop at other posters?

If the bandwith really is about the picture posting then SURELY the Mods/Admin could get their act together and pre-set each match day thread so that images cannot be quoted and reposted (just the hyperlinks). After all this is a Saints forum and we do have advance notice of when matches are taking place (although sometimes we have to start our own)

Great run of results over the Christmas period. Very good use of his squad resources by NA and picking teams for conditions. Only things left to moan about are the forum melt down and the as usual drop outs of Solent when the Daggers were working fine all game.

And, from the commentary, well played Guly. Thought I saw something in him when I saw him play and seems he is settling in, not that many Brazilians make it in English Football, I hope we might have found one

My heart says playoffs but deep down think we can get automatic promotion, long way to go and things can change so quickly!

Is good to south clubs doing well and getting some recognition!

Well it's about time, but at last the team is starting to play and win the way they did in the last third of last season. The way we all know they can play and win, hopefully this is the start of a really good run now and the frustrating first half of this season can fade into memory. Well done boys and well done Nigel great results all over christmas now lets rip the league to pieces for the rest of the season and go up as champions (oh and winning the FA cup would be nice too)

Good end to a great holiday period for Saints. Great result today & lets hope its a sign of things to come, how many times in the past have we have blown it against bottom of the league opposition, after a couple of good performances?

We are in 2nd now without really being on song all season so far. The confidence should be sky high now, time to push on & cement an automatic promotion place. WIFM

If we both keep playing the way we have been, (our 11 goals in 3 games and your 5-0 win and grinding out at exeter) then it should be an interesting run in, and we should both go up automatically at a canter.

TBH, i would be happy with automatic promotion, winning the league would be good.

The problem with the D&R attacking at the end was the lack of pace up front as Alex and Guly had been taken off. Barnard is energetic but not quick, Lambert likewise. If we are going to get in front and defend a lead under pressure we need some lightning pace to bring on as it is difficult to break out if the defenders/midfield defend deep as it causes us tremendous problems especially with a goal line rooted keeper that allows the defence to back into the six yd area. If we are to soak up pressure we need a dominant keeper that will drive the back four out and catch the crosses thrown into the box. Two players like Waigo/Antonio would stop the oppositions defenders pushing forward and make them vulnerable to quick breaks.

The league is very tight. We're in a good position, but not a great position.

Not in a great position you are second and on a great run! I would be pleased with that!

I was not over enthralled with his appointment and was starting to wonder after the first 20minutes against Huddersfield. He did something to turn the teams performance around and so Ihave given him some slack. I have a record of supporting the permanent management teams at the club and so it was odd for me not to be 100% behind NA. I gave him time and have warmed to him. Im not fully a NA fan and dont sing his name but feel the best I have for some time about the manager and the way the club is going.

As well as my substantial bet on Saints I have the shrewdest bet ever backing you for promotion mid-June at 9/1... I hope you are second! :)

Smith must score...

Would take second right now!

Would be good to see us both go up automatically!

37 (according to the Saints website?) shots on goal today and 60% possession? Don't remember it being that one-way but would have been pig sick if we'd cacked this one up! still, well done Saints...

I agree - I want Pompey to stay up and Bompey to come up with us. What with diesel at 131 a litre...

Four south clubs in the championship would be great!
