St Chalet Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 Great away win today. Bit close for comfort towards the end.
Colinjb Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 A good solid win. Solidifies our place in the top 2 and leaves our fate for next season in our own hands. Delighted.
adrian lord Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 yes very good - pity about Brighton winning, and please sort out this server/site problem.
Lighthouse Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 Great win. Brighton's last minute winner is a bit of a bummer, but they've been inconsistent really. If we carry on like that, we will get them over the rest of the season. Wednesday were about the only team we've gained ground on, but never mind. We can only worry about our own results.
Smirking_Saint Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 Pity that Brighton pulled it back but good solid win today. Good performance and good win WDYS Adkins has done a brilliant job since arriving, i don't think i have said it yet but league results since he arrived would put us top of the league.
scott_saints Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 Well pleased with the result. P1ssed off about Brighton mind, but we'll catch them! Oh, and the server is s**t.
Thedelldays Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 very happy...we had to come here and win in difficult conditions...and we did...rode our luck but that is football.. i am VERY intrigued to know why saint lard thinks adkins is not good enough for us..and why he thinks the players dont play for him...
del boy Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 Unless Charlton win by 11 tonight we should hold onto 2nd for a few more days yet. Great to keep this momentum going...
latter day saint Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 another 3 points in the bag, just a pity Brighton came from behind to win.
rocknrollman no2 Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 Saints win yet again and the Skates lose.Shame about Brighton, but at least we are looking so much stronger and a ref gives us a decision for once.Happy days.
Ohio Saint Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 Good win. Credit to Daggers for the way they played. Defending all the way for a draw until they needed to attack and gave us a real scare at the end.
JustMike Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 got a bit scared at the end, well done saints!!
S-Clarke Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 great result, just what we needed to do. We did lose the plot a bit after they pulled one back, but we're always a threat on the break and it seems as if Lambert is getting back to the level we all know he's capable of. ...quite ominous for the other teams in this league! Table is looking good now, couple of results could have been better but on the large - the pack behind us is now much further away.
gazd83 Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 another 3 points in the bag, just a pity Brighton came from behind to win. They are masters at coming from behind.
Rebel Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 A good away win - and we are in Second place - have to be happy with that!
OttawaSaint Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 Phew, thought we might blow it there. Great win, sounds like a superb performance too. Keep it up Saints. Shame about those jammy bastards Brighton, is starting to feel like 84, with Liverpool sneaking late goals to rain on our parade...
smithy Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 Great result, carry on like this and the league will be ours. Great to see Lambert on the score sheet again and the Guly haters should quieten down a bit now. Great run of results.
qwertySFC Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 Nervy at times - but quality always wins in the end - so pleased for Lambert - not worth worrying about the teams around us all we do is keep winning - it is in our own hands - COYR
saint lard Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 Smirking saint....... "Saint Lard still hasn't told me how Adkins has done such a bad job, even though on results since he has arrived would put him top of the league Strange " Like many others i have not been able to access the forum due to the manky Server again. Never stated he had done a bad job, however up untill the last couple of games i was not as impressed with him as many others were.Nothing sisnister in that. Ground out a result today thankfully, backs to the wall for the last 15 mins apparently, especially when they hit the underside of the bar and had a penalty shout turned down, Would have been a great shame to have thrown it all away after all the posession we had,but possession alone does not win games, and without consistancy gain no automatic promotion either. Well done Adkins, the players and the vocal support up there.
aintforever Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 Great stuff, that was the sort of game we wold lose under Pardew.
Squawker Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 They are masters at coming from behind. Pfffffft!
qwertySFC Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 Oh - and to add a special mention for Nigel Pearson - well done me ole son
Thedelldays Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 saint lard...do you now believe adkins is very capable of taking us up..and that the player DO infact play for him..?
RobM Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 Fantastic result made even more fantastic by having a SkyBet on Lallana being the first scorer in a 1-3 win for Saints 55-1 and a tenner = happy days Brighton really should be looking over their shoulder right now. Hopefully us breathing down their neck will pressure them a bit, something they haven't had to deal with at all this season.
saint_jas Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 Another good win, hope we can get Guly in permantley. Wish it was another league match next week, really couldn't care about the cup.

Whitey Grandad Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 Great result. There's no point worrying about other teams. If we keep getting results then the top of the table will follow.

Well done Adkins, the players and the vocal support up there. Fair enough. Its just hard sometimes wading through the intense negativity we get on this forum, and i don't know why really. Like today for instance, football is not won consitancy by 3-4 goals (although 11 goals in 3 games has been nice) but by dominating opposition and getting decent shots on goal. We did that today, on a tough pitch against opposition that sounded as if they just sat back and tried to suck it up. Of course that makes things hard but we battled through and did a great job.
THEVMAN Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 Well done the lads onwards to the Championship.
Saint J 77 Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 Another good day for football. A sweet start to the New Year. Saints Win, Skates lose again. I hope this is the pattern for the rest of the year
Toomer Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 Good away win we rode our luck late on by the sounds of it, look forward to reports from people that went, Lambert sealed it with the third
hypochondriac Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 Is the guy on solent drunk? Sounds off his face reading out the scores.
Jimmy_D Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 Pleased to get away from that with 3 points, sounds like Guly and Lambert are starting to form a real partnership.... Disappointing that Brighton dragged that result but it hasn't been a bad day for us elsewhere overall. Unless Charlton win this evening by 12 goals, tonight will be the first time this season that we've been 2nd without teams able to catch us with their games in hand.
SOTONS EAST SIDE Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 Great result Saints, S-HIT server. Enough said!!
alpine_saint Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 Very pleased we went 100% over the holiday period. Was worried about today, especially on the strength of the first half. Hope we sign Goolie. Disappointed that a sh*te server will give people the opportunity to bash me saying that I hid when we went ahead. Its up to us now, our destiny is in our hands.
iansums Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 Since NA took over: P17 W10 D3 L4 F32 A15 Pts33 Nearly 2pts per game which is automatic promotion form.
sad saints fan Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 Think i am glad they went defensive from the start because they looked dangerous when they attacked us. Good test for Saints and they passed it. Good luck to Dagenham for the rest of the season.
alpine_saint Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 Great stuff, that was the sort of game we wold lose under Pardew. Aint that the truth.

Oldham could if they score 14 more goals than they concede in their 2 games in hand. Not likely to be sure.

Worried about today even though we had 60% of possession and had 8 shots on target and 5 corners ? to their 1 and 0 ?? The server needs looking at definately, it is pretty terrible, especially for the ones that have stumped up the £5'r. Unfortunately the league isn't in our hands yet, we could win every game and still come second, but we are looking strong and Brighton must be getting a bit worried.
