Rut Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 Well it's down to the post-season knock-out stage. 12 teams left. Odds: New England Patriots 2/1 Pittsburgh Steelers 6/1 Atlanta Falcons 7/1 New Orleans Saints 11/1 Philadelphia Eagles 12/1 Green Bay Packers 12/1 Chicago Bears 14/1 Baltimore Ravens 14/1 Indianapolis Colts 16/1 New York Jets 28/1 Kansas City Chiefs 50/1 Seattle Seahawks 100/1 For me the Colts @ 16/1 is the value bet and I'm still sticking with my prediction of a Saints v Colts rematch (Broncos & Bengals didn't quite make it...) Anyway - where's St George gone? Or is just getting to play-offs no big deal for the Saints anymore?
georgeweahscousin Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 Can't see past the Patriots, although I can't stand them. If I could choose, Saints or Steelers.
Hatch Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 Three weeks ago i was thinking Eagles, then I changed my mind, but I'm going to change again and go back to the Eagles. or e/w Falcons.
Gorgiesaint Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 Think it will be the Patriots year again, but the NFC is wide open IMO. Think the NFC champ game will be Eagles @ Bears and that will be a tough call.
Jimmy_D Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 I'm disappointed in you lot! We all should be backing Saints!
lettuce Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 Get in the Seahawks! One of the best rushing TDs I've ever seen! Don't think we'll make it through the next round tho
Rut Posted 9 January, 2011 Author Posted 9 January, 2011 For me the Colts @ 16/1 is the value bet and I'm still sticking with my prediction of a Saints v Colts rematch (Broncos & Bengals didn't quite make it...) Just to clarify - I am talking about the 2012 SB that is in Indianapolis. Not the 2011 one in Dallas.
shurlock Posted 9 January, 2011 Posted 9 January, 2011 go ravens...another bruising steelers/ravens showdown to come.
ChicagoSaint Posted 10 January, 2011 Posted 10 January, 2011 Bears to beat Seahawks, Packers to win in Atlanta. Epic NFC championship game in Chicago (think Saints vs Skates in terms of rivalry) which hopefully the Bears will win but i'm not confident. New England to win through in the APC and win the Superbowl. They have played at a level above everyone else the last couple of months.

Just back from Gillette Stadium - Patriots never got going, but not sure if they were just poor, or Ryan just outcoached Belicheck - probably both. Brady certainly seemed indecisive. Lots of mightily ****ed off Patriots fans tonight. Think the NFC will take the honours now - probably leaning towards the Packers - but only just.

The trash talk got to them, well got to Brady again anyway, the pick early on completely put him off his game, he knew the SB loss in 2007 was going to come back and haunt him again; He's become a choker, maybe it was windy but he was obviously afraid to put the ball up afterwards.
shurlock Posted 18 January, 2011 Posted 18 January, 2011 Fair play to Nick Halling, our resident saints pundit- beaming during the playoffs that he lost a skate a grand with some dodgy betting tips...
georgeweahscousin Posted 18 January, 2011 Posted 18 January, 2011 Fair play to Nick Halling, our resident saints pundit- beaming during the playoffs that he lost a skate a grand with some dodgy betting tips... Saw that. First time I have seen Brady choke under pressure last night. Jets defence was awesome though. Steelers all the way for me now!

Steelers all the way for me now! Doubt it, the Jest will make the SB now, their corners will pick off Big Ben at least twice, plus the Steelers D didn't look great against the Ravens. Jets-Bears, now that won't be a pretty match to watch, the trash talk should be amusing though.

Have to agree that will be the Jets-Bears in the SB, not surprised that the Jets beat the Patriots just gutted that didn't have the sense to back it at the bookies. Although it was made a bit sweeter by watching the game in my regular pub for the NFL which is normally fairly quiet, this time the Pats fans came out of the woodwork like glory hunting Man U fans so they can crawl back home and put their Brady shirts away for another year.

By the way, I think the Saints players should start doing post match interviews like this:- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJshw2Axsqc
Rut Posted 24 January, 2011 Author Posted 24 January, 2011 Patriots or Steelers v Packers Shame you copped out and put the Patriots in that prediction. As a Broncos fan I'm just glad Cutler bottled it - would never have heard the end of it he ended up with a SB ring. Not so obvious teams to look out for next year: AFC: Broncos (of course) - but why not? 2nd in the draft picks and a whole new set-up. Tebow to shine. Bengals - get rid of Owens and play as a proper team like they should have done this year. NFC: Rams - McDaniels will get the best out of Bradford Lions - all those top draft picks will finally come of age.
Window Cleaner Posted 24 January, 2011 Posted 24 January, 2011 What a bore that SB is going to be Steelers-Packers yuk
the stain Posted 24 January, 2011 Posted 24 January, 2011 Lions - all those top draft picks will finally come of age. Haven't some of those top draft picks matured and then retired? Why would it happen this year?
Rut Posted 24 January, 2011 Author Posted 24 January, 2011 Haven't some of those top draft picks matured and then retired? Why would it happen this year? I say it every year. One year I'll be able to say 'told ya so'. I would rather be saying 'told ya so' when the Broncos win the SB in Indy in around a years time though. If it is a Lions v Broncos SB then I may just mention this post... (the police do have helicopters).
