Nexstar Posted 1 January, 2011 Posted 1 January, 2011 Up to you to say your favourite home and away games of 2010. I'm not going to include Wembley as I think that would pop up in every post! Home - MK Dons 3-1. I know it was the JPT but it was a cracking atmosphere and the thought of playing at Wembley was just fantastic. Carlisle 3-2 in the league was another one, but for different reasons. Away: Yeovil 1-0. Had a great day out in the sun, took the full allocation, and went mental when Barnard scored a last minute winner.
Colinjb Posted 1 January, 2011 Posted 1 January, 2011 I would actually say 4-1 v Huddersfield last tuesday. I didn't expect a game of that kind of profile. Conceed then fight back with such style. A true classic with some wonderful goals.
Scudamore Posted 1 January, 2011 Posted 1 January, 2011 Naaarwich... Scoring in the last minute when they were stalling for time then going onto win by penalties was so sweet...
Nexstar Posted 1 January, 2011 Author Posted 1 January, 2011 Naaarwich... Scoring in the last minute when they were stalling for time then going onto win by penalties was so sweet... Another classic, bit of a rollercoaster game!
Scudamore Posted 1 January, 2011 Posted 1 January, 2011 Another classic, bit of a rollercoaster game! One of the best games I've been to in years actually. Night time game as well so always makes for a better atmosphere.
Appy Posted 2 January, 2011 Posted 2 January, 2011 Naaarwich... Scoring in the last minute when they were stalling for time then going onto win by penalties was so sweet... That was in 2009. Home Games- MK in the JPT, Leeds and Peterborough. Away- Yeovil, Norwich and the 2 trips to Bristol Rovers.
georgeismyname Posted 2 January, 2011 Posted 2 January, 2011 Home - MK in the JPT, Huddersfield (twice), Ipswich in the FA Cup Away - Norwich, Bristol Rovers (twice), MK in the JPT, Sheffield Wednesday
Daren W Posted 2 January, 2011 Posted 2 January, 2011 I'd say Huddersfield and Walsall in consecutive games.... Total football and ripped apart two very competent teams who were looking at the playoffs at the time..
dronskisaint Posted 2 January, 2011 Posted 2 January, 2011 Norwich JPT match for all the reasons mentioned...fantastic atmosphere & big Wayne's oh so casual final penalty. Norwich again away...they were on their way to being champions & we taught them a football lesson...but for the woodwork it would have been a harsher one.
Griffo Posted 2 January, 2011 Posted 2 January, 2011 Home game - Pompey. Away game - Wednesday this season probably.
Appy Posted 2 January, 2011 Posted 2 January, 2011 Norwich JPT match for all the reasons mentioned...fantastic atmosphere & big Wayne's oh so casual final penalty. Norwich again away...they were on their way to being champions & we taught them a football lesson...but for the woodwork it would have been a harsher one. What about 2010? Norwich JPT was 2009.
Thedelldays Posted 2 January, 2011 Posted 2 January, 2011 Brizzle Rovers away was a cracker last season they could have been 2-0 up if it was not for the woodwork...the we smashed them..and fair play to their fans, they appreciated the display we put on. what also made it good was how huddersfield were losing at home for a bit and the buzz in the stand was superb...the huddersfield fought back...****s game to forget - oldham at home just after...such an anti climax and then subbing a sub.....
Jeff Le Taxi Posted 2 January, 2011 Posted 2 January, 2011 JPT Semi Final home leg will probably go down as my favourite game at SMS of all time! ELECTRIC atmosphere from start to finish, the game also changed my attitude as a whole to the stadium, prior to the game i thought of SMS as sterile and soul less, i have since realised it was because there were no real outstanding memories of the place compared to The Dell. Eternally grateful to Markus and Nicola for the whole JPT adventure.
saintscottofthenortham Posted 2 January, 2011 Posted 2 January, 2011 (H) - MK Dons in JPT for the Atmosphere. A fantastic night. (H) League - Uddersfail 5-0. Cause I farkin can't stand them and that tw*t Peter Clarke so putting 5 past was a nice way to get back for the miserable day I had up there last season when we lost 3-1. (A) - Yeovil 1-0. A superb away day cooking in the heat of the sun in the terrace with a great last minute winner despite being down to 10 men. The formation of Jaidi at the back with Waigo playing Right Wing Back and every other f*cker up front payed off in the end.
Andy_Porter Posted 2 January, 2011 Posted 2 January, 2011 MK away in the JPT, Walsall away, Norwich away, Rover away, Carlisle JPT, Huddersfield home 5-0 and Exeter away (tbf that was more about the day than the football) We've had some cracking games in this league and the JPT. Hopefully if/when we go up we don't go back to the boring days and keep up this level of entertainment.
Dr Who? Posted 2 January, 2011 Posted 2 January, 2011 MK Dons Home was brilliant for so many reasons, as well as making history. Now away would have to be MK Dons in the JPS as well.
krissyboy31 Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 Was going to say Norwich but that was December '09. Has to be the 5-nil v Huddersfield immediately after scoring 5 against Walsall.
Wade Garrett Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 Monopoly and Cluedo. The old classics are still the best.
paulwantsapint Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 yeovil away last season as mentioned the gk-1-0-8 formation & barney scoring in last minute notts county away this season we got the job done think barney must have threatened the ref in 2nd half play fair or feel the plaster cast walsall last season at home for about 10 mins looked typical saints gave goal away then we equalised & found 4 more goals
SNSUN Posted 3 January, 2011 Posted 3 January, 2011 Saints 5-0 Huddersfield This. Arguably Puncheon's best game for us, we decimated a good side. That -10 points thing denied a good Saints team promotion last year, but I'd rather go up as Champions this year.
