Butterfield, Jaidi, Dickson and Hammond in for Richardson, Seaborne, Harding and Schneiderlin.

Not surprising to see Jaidi, Dickson and Hammond come in but I expected Dickson to be for Chambo rather than Harding.

I think it's hard to chose between Butterfield and Richardson so it makes some sense to rotate them now and again. Changing 3 of the back 4 doesn't seem ideal but then those coming in should be good enough to get the result.

Dickson is a better all round player to Harding IMO but i am loving the fact we have so much competition for spaces right now

We're stupidly strong at left back with Mills as third choice. Ben Reeves also looks like he might be a really good player.

I agree, usually when teams who are succesfull rotate the one constant is the back four.

It shouldn't matter today but its a dangerous ploy I think, the more a back four play together the better they are.

Absolutely spot on. It's great to have replacements all over the field that are of equal quality, if not better than some of the regulars in the starting XI. If Richardson is struggling, we can bring in the experienced Butterfield, we've got Dickson keeping Harding on his toes, Schneiderlin available if Hammond or Chaplow are out of form, and the likes of Barnard waiting in the wings if called upon. It's fantastic.

Anyone know if these changes are squad rotation or did we get some knocks on Saturday?

All the others are on the bench so I guess it is rotation

We have a stupidly strong squad for this level when everyone is fit

Just proves how much we have been underperforming for the majority of the season, performance wise.

Your right, the more continuity the better players react together. But we will have to make changes with our schedule!

Butterfield and Richardson I see as a very easy choice, Butterfield better going forward, Richardson better defensively. I was disappointed with Butterfield against Huddersfield, glad he was taken off as I thought he could have done better in letting the cross in. But each have their own merits and just select based upon requirements.

Very true, but in all honesty, its as expected when you look at how we started, Pardew leaving, owner dying, Wilkins and injuries/arrests

Its like a series of bloody dream team.

Really? I'd say Richardson is much better going forward and slightly better defensively.

3 changes to the defence? Mistake IMO. Why drop Richardson and Harding? I'm sure they could handle 2 games in 3 days.

+1.

If changes are not enforced, they are not nessessary.

Surely todays players have the fitness levels and are adaptable to suit the opposition.

I'd say the same, but certainly don't think Butterfield is as bad as many on here think at times, fantastic back up player at this level.
