Thedelldays Posted 29 December, 2010 Posted 29 December, 2010 maybe a sticky.. who has been the best player in this calendar year..? I will reckon the stand out players are.. Lambert Lallana Fonte Davis Chamberlain.. what you reckon..? Lallana for me...all year he has been brilliant
Colinjb Posted 29 December, 2010 Posted 29 December, 2010 For consistent form over the entire calendar year. Lallana.
Right sider Posted 29 December, 2010 Posted 29 December, 2010 For consistent form over the entire calendar year. Lallana. Agree completely
S-Clarke Posted 29 December, 2010 Posted 29 December, 2010 For the last 12 months it has to be Lallana. No one else comes close in that period really in consistency terms.
woodsaint Posted 29 December, 2010 Posted 29 December, 2010 Il go for jose fonte, class above this level
St Chalet Posted 29 December, 2010 Posted 29 December, 2010 (edited) Nominations on here and we'll add a poll to this thread. Edited 29 December, 2010 by St Chalet
Nexstar Posted 29 December, 2010 Posted 29 December, 2010 Can't think of Lallana having a bad game. Fantastic player
St Chalet Posted 29 December, 2010 Posted 29 December, 2010 Nominations so far: Lambert Lallana Fonte Davis Chamberlain For good measure I'll suggest Barnard
krissyboy31 Posted 29 December, 2010 Posted 29 December, 2010 Mmmm, the vote is looking quite close at the moment, so I'm going to go for Lallana.
SuperMikey Posted 29 December, 2010 Posted 29 December, 2010 Lallana has been consistently our best player this season, and was excellent in the latter months of last season as well. My vote goes to him. Honourable mentions to Lambert (who would have had my vote had he not started this season so poorly) and Chamberlain.
Lighthouse Posted 29 December, 2010 Posted 29 December, 2010 For the year: 1. Lallana 2. Fonte 3. Barnard 4. Harding
Appy Posted 29 December, 2010 Posted 29 December, 2010 Lallana. Notable mentions for Lambert, Fonte, Barnard and Hammond
braveheart1983 Posted 29 December, 2010 Posted 29 December, 2010 After much thought I'll go for Skacel ....if he's signed yet? Failing that ....it'll have to be Lallana.
St Chalet Posted 29 December, 2010 Posted 29 December, 2010 Poll added, alas the Pulis nomination came too late.
eelpie Posted 29 December, 2010 Posted 29 December, 2010 1. Adam has to be THE player of the year. No one else need to apply. That despite some stirling performances from just about everybody ( if not all at the same time). 2. So runner up for me has to be the WHOLE TEAM performing together as a unit. (Again not all the time, true, but getting better and better as we move up the table.) Adam meanwhile has rarely not been outstanding. (And best newcomer in the whole country? AOC of course)
gaz Posted 29 December, 2010 Posted 29 December, 2010 Ricke or Adam for me. Shame about the start for this season for RL but Adam has come of age in 2010.
forever a red and white Posted 29 December, 2010 Posted 29 December, 2010 i don't quite understand Hammond's inclusion. Lallana gets vote purely because he is the most entertaining player to watch and backs with assits and goals. Harding has only had about three bad games for us, otherwise very reliable at left-back.
CWD Posted 29 December, 2010 Posted 29 December, 2010 For consistent form over the entire calendar year. Lallana. Fonte - for the same reason!
SFC Forever Posted 29 December, 2010 Posted 29 December, 2010 Lallana has to be the one. Even when unfit he came back from injury and started to show how badly he was missed.
captainchris Posted 29 December, 2010 Posted 29 December, 2010 Lallana has to be the one. Even when unfit he came back from injury and started to show how badly he was missed. Simples - Adam Lallana
SNSUN Posted 29 December, 2010 Posted 29 December, 2010 Lambert misses out due to this season's form, Alex is new, it HAS to be Lallana.
docker-p Posted 29 December, 2010 Posted 29 December, 2010 It would have been Lallana for me, but Fonte has had a bigger impact on the team over the last 12 months.
Bailey Posted 29 December, 2010 Posted 29 December, 2010 Adam Lallana. It was no coincidence that we struggled for form when he was out through injury at the start of the season. A top, top player who will no doubt go on to play at a higher level. Lets just hope it's with Saints!
Saint_lambden Posted 30 December, 2010 Posted 30 December, 2010 Lallana - 20 goals from midfield last season and is involved in so many goals - Best player in this league with the ball at his feet.
Saintandy666 Posted 30 December, 2010 Posted 30 December, 2010 Fonte. Consistant at the back and when he doesn't play, we clearly miss him. A class player and a level above the rest, he is worthy of this accolade.
Jimmy_D Posted 30 December, 2010 Posted 30 December, 2010 Close between Fonte and Lallana for me, I choose Lallana. Lambert would probably be there if he'd had the bad form at the start of the year and the awesome form just now, but he hasn't.
saintfully Posted 30 December, 2010 Posted 30 December, 2010 Went for Lallana because of his improvement. However, for me, our best player is Fonte who should be playing above this level.
georgeweahscousin Posted 30 December, 2010 Posted 30 December, 2010 Adam Lallana. Fonte and Lambert close joint second.
St BATman Posted 30 December, 2010 Posted 30 December, 2010 Lallana - best player in the league. Fonte second a fit and on form Lambert third
St Chalet Posted 30 December, 2010 Posted 30 December, 2010 Will let this run until tomorrow, then award it to Adam Lallana by the looks of things.
trousers Posted 30 December, 2010 Posted 30 December, 2010 It's gotta be Puncheon - the only player in our squad who's scoring regularly in the league above....
