4 zip. Richard Lambeth hat-trick

Any time you're St. Mary's way, Any evening, any day, You'll find us all pointing out to you who our top scorer actually is.

6 points in the next 2 games could see us top 3.

With Sheff Weds not playing and Huddersfield and Charlton having potentially tricky away games at Carlisle and Colchester, 3 points against Exeter could see Saints in 2nd place come 5pm New Years Day.

Good results on Tuesday/Wednesday have set this one up nicely. Hope for c28,000 and a good win.

Then a couple more signings at least (Chaplow is a good start but doesn't really feel like a new signing).

I really don't think there will be many more signings, what are we to do with them?? A striker maybe but that's about all.We don't have much roster space unless we want blokes hanging around doing nothing. If there are many more in then there'll have to be outs as well.

I hope you are right but in the last two seasons whenever I think we are about to put a string of good results something goes wrong.

Surely we can beat both Exeter and Dag Red

you would expect so.....

exeter can beat anyone on their day and should not be taken lightly...trouble (for them) they are very inconsistant..

they also have a few players ill and a couple returning from illness and should be below par as a team..

surely we have to get 6 points from these two

I think we have some scope to offload one or two, don't you. The likes of Pulis, Forecast and Wotton spring to mind. I would guess Puncheon won't be coming back either.

We certainly could do with one or two more, a big striker as backup for Lambert and another winger as Holmes is out for the season and Puncheon appears not interested in playing for us. Possibly another good CB as well.

I would hope we can beat all three.

if our recently wobbly defenders can manacle Harley and Cureton we should win well. If not expect a draw or defeat. Exeter have achieved good results off us and play best against the top teams.

Oh no we won't. Pantomime esque. We should be beating Exeter and Daggers easily enough. If we can't then it would be a bit like Liverpool losing to Wolves. An absolute mare. Onwards and upwards saints.

Every home game I have been at this season has resulted in a Saints win. I am not going tomorrow, therefore we will not win. Sorry everyone.

With respect it would be a bit unfair to compare Exeter to Wolves, whilst Wolves are languishing near the bottom of the table Exeter have had a fairly decent season so far and their results are not to dissimilar to our own. Whilst I still believe we should come out on top I don't expect it to be quite as one sided as some think. If Saints are to prove themselves as worthy title contenders then 6 points from 6 is a must tomorrow and Tuesday.

Agree with those saying we need to put together a convincing run and beat a few teams to cement a top 3 place now. There is no option - to get the opportunity of promotion we need to win some games of football. Dammit - New Years resolution - must stop talking like that!

We will lose this game 1-2 then - a few nutters on here will be shouting for Adkins head and normal Saints business will be resumed. (;

Liverpool are a very poor side at the moment because of the imbalance between attack and defence.Torres clearly isn't interested any more and Gerrard is just a waste of space. When those 2 aren't performing they are a very very ordinary side, beatable by any other Prem side.Which is why Comolli is desperately shopping around for players at a reasonable price who can play now and not in 3 years time. Sylvain Marveaux is their latest target ever heard of him?? no? I thought not . Today's Liverpool aren't yesterday's Liverpool if you see what I mean.Whereas Saints are still by far superior to the likes of Exeter and should win if there are no individual errors..

Why the obsession on here with signing backup? Backup got us relegated. Improve the team, don't just spend to have a bigger squad.

Back up to lambert merely means 'plan A isn't working, let's try a worse version of plan A'.

Not heard of injuries and suspensions then? Nothing to do with Plan A not working. When Lambert is unavailable we do not have cover, simple as that. Similar with Fonte and Jaidi, our cover is very thin with Seaborne, Martin seems not to be favoured by NA (I don't know why). WE have more than half the season to go, and will be playing 3 games a week at times, we will suffer injuries and we will have suspensions, ergo we need cover in one or two positions. We also need competition for places, currently there is no real competition for RL or for our 3 CBs. There is no need to have a bigger squad, we need to get rid of Pulis, Forecast and Wotton and bring in about 3 more, so the squad stays the same size actually.

Totally Agree No point in buying unless they are better than first choices NOW

Yes but if you buy better than you've already got, the current players become the back-up. It's called continuous improvement (as opposed to continuous decline, which is what we've suffered from for the past 8 or 9 years).

Looking forward to the game Happy New Year to all that support the mighty Saints

After a great result against Udders really hope we can find some promotion form and get on a run COYS lets have a fantastic 2011 Saints to win 3 1 bring on the Daggers

I don't think it's overly dramatic to say that if we concede against either Exeter or Dagenham & Redbridge' date=' our defence needs to be added to in the window, considering our poor number of clean sheets already this season.[/quote']

It is quite dramatic considering... Saints have only let in 19 goals in 20 games, which isn't bad really and is the 2nd best defensive record in League One behind Brighton. It is a lack of goals which has been more concerning this season.

Lol I knew someone would pull out a stat to make me look stupid... But I still feel we have let in too many sloppy goals in games we shouldn't have. If we can stop conceding a many and score more we'd be laughing.

Big game tomorrow.

We know Exeter are no Mugs but we shouldn't fear anyone to home in the league.

I fancy 3-1 like last year.

Think we would be hard pushed to buy better than Lambert or Fonte without going daft, and it is not really necessary, these are players that will do well in the next level, in Fonte's case in the PL as well. Fact still remains we need competition for places and backup in these areas. Jaidi is more than good enough at this level but he is not getting any younger, and while Seaborne and Martin are good backup we are still a bit light in this department.

Absolutely agree! We should be looking and aiming for somebody better than Lambert to take the pressure off, making our other forwards the 'backup'. Add to the front of the queue, not the back.

As for Exeter, they are a very well organised team I'm always cautious of. And Cureton always worries me too, he seems to score against us a little too often. That said, we should be beating teams like them easily if we want promotion.

I'm not saying he's better than Lambert but Alan Lee would've been perfect down here before he joined Huddersfield. He seems to be more than happy playing a squad role in their side so he would've been my choice. I was also surprised to see Jordan Rhodes on the bench for them on Tuesday so maybe worth a punt?

Anyway back to the game, Saints to click again and win 4-0! COYS!
