would go down well in london 2012 year but not so sure that the players would be too enamoured with having the infamous marge and homer felatio logo emblazoned across their chests..

Well yes they are multinational companies, but they have large offices/HQ's in Southampton. When I said I thought it would be someone with a local connection, I still assumed it would be a larger company. Otherwise theres Mikes Chippy, Bitterne Hardware or Cloud Wine etc.

Skandia have a massive office right in the heart of Soton and seem to get involved with the club as much as they can.

Ikea have just built a flag ship store in the city centre that attacts 1000s from across the south every day

Carnival have just built a massive head office right in the city centre

P&O you mentioned

Bacardi-Martini was based at the docks for decades and still have their head office in an SO post code.

B&Q have their flagship HQ in Chandlers Ford

HSBC have a big head office by the station but granted they have loads everywhere. Much like Barclays in Ocean Village

Ordnance Survey have a big history with Southampton and still based here.

DHL was pretty rubbish. They have an office at the docks but they have several offices in every city.

OS are a public sector trading fund, they can't sponsor a football team.

I have no idea who new sponsor will be but am sure that NC will get a good deal done.

Has it been said we will be back in stripes? And will it still be Umbro?

Think it will be a big foriegn bank, like Credit Suisse or an investment group - Investec / Invesco Perpetual. Something that will make the most of NC's banking background and contacts.

That or Coca-Cola

Most people won't have heard of the actual company name, but they are huge and every single person will know their brands.

Unilever?

Kuti's ?

LMAO That's one that it certainly would never, ever be!!

Cunard/Carnival would be ideal. Local, high profile business with leisure industry customers & huge scope for mutual beneficial marketing. Ideal & perfect in every way & both currently on the up with Carnival doing extremely well. The entire cruise industry has gone nuts these last few years with Independence, Celebrity do da & all the cruise liners being churned out.

Coca-Cola would be awsome.

I'd be disgusted if a new sponsor had naming rights to the stadium

It always feels as though the board have sold their soul when companies can get their name on the ground

The same person that told me about mercedez Benz also told me that the council have already been in talks with the club about developing around the ground. Hotel, shops etc. And that 250k is being put towards payrises for club staff. Staff meeting a couple of weeks back. Sounds promising!

Except this is not the shirt/stadium sponsorship deal covered by this thread.

Yes it was very annoying to see that tweet then find out it us just about advertising boards in exchange for a couple of cars and mini buses. Grrrrrrr @ SFC for teasing us so.

I don't want a sponsor ruining the shirt ever again.

now that Barca have sold out lets step into that no sponsor on shirt fold. Tissot is my guess by the way.

Skates will love it if we have this on our shirts:

Personally, I wouldn't care though as they are pathetic losers. I would, however, find it very amusing if they had this on theirs:
