PhilippineSaint Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Failed to go through by all accounts so unless he goes on loan next week he's still with us.
Big Bad Bob Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Sky Sports News are reporting this as being complete for an undisclosed fee. Are you talking about SWP or Punch? Nothing on t'interweb about Punch going anywhere! Sent from my HTC HD2 using Tapatalk
Huffton Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 and after all the crap Warnock came out with about us hanging around on the Goorks deal, they didn't leave the Puncheon move till the last minute at all did they??? Hypocrites. Has Warnock ever been anything other that a big mouthed hypocritical cock?
once_bitterne Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Failed to go through by all accounts so unless he goes on loan next week he's still with us. Not all accounts. Sky Sports are reporting Puncheon to QPR for undisclosed fee!
Gingeletiss Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Not all accounts. Sky Sports are reporting Puncheon to QPR for undisclosed fee! Um!...talk sport said this morning, that QPR signed 5, but his name was not one of them!
Ken Tone Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 If the signing for QPR didn't go through Puncheon really is in a mess. Surely we wouldn't loan him to another championship club, and he won't agree to go to L1, so where could he go?
alpine_saint Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 We're stuck paying the smegger, arent we ?
Foxstone Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 If the signing for QPR didn't go through Puncheon really is in a mess. Surely we wouldn't loan him to another championship club, and he won't agree to go to L1, so where could he go? That being the case, best he gets his act together, show contrition for his bad attitude and work bloody hard to get back into NA's good books - Then he might get a game.
Pilchards Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 The deal did go through for Puncheon to QPR. Gone for good
saint1977 Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 That might cheer some of the other posters up. Punch must been on a fair wage and he clearly was miles out of favour. Can't see how he's going to compete with SWP for a place though!

JRM Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 has it been confirmed anywhere? not seen an announcement by us, QPR or on BBC?

EBS1980 Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 gordonsimpson Gordon Simpson by dankerins As an extra snippet in tomorrow's paper, find out which Blackpool player Saints tried to include in a swap deal for Puncheon. #saintsfc 10 hours ago Anyone know who the player was as nothing on the website about it?
Saint Garrett Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 I hope it wasnt Matt Phillips and we turned it down!!!
EBS1980 Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 I hope it wasnt Matt Phillips and we turned it down!!! Well it said Saints tried to include so we wouldn't have turned it down if it was Phillips.
s0108787 Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 I would have taken Phillips, looks a good prospect.
Flyer Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 The echo said its a loan with an option to buy in January. I wouldnt mind that.
Viking Warrior Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Theres no mention about Puncheons transfer to QPR on the BBC as far as I can see
Aardvark Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Has Warnock ever been anything other that a big mouthed hypocritical cock? Of course! He's quite regularly a complete cvnt.
JRM Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 The echo said its a loan with an option to buy in January. I wouldnt mind that. so - he hasn't actually permanently left yet then???? i can see him ending up back at st marys in Jan and we'll go through all this again
Flyer Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 http://www.ealinggazette.co.uk/sport/qpr-ealing/2011/09/01/qpr-two-minutes-too-late-to-sign-jason-puncheon-64767-29344994/ QPR missed out on a loan-deal for Jason Puncheon because transfer forms for his Loftus Road move arrived two minutes late last night (Wednesday). Protracted negotiations with Southampton, the winger’s club, meant Hoops could only fax the paperwork to the FA at 11.02pm – just outside the time limit before the transfer window slammed shut. Puncheon had already agreed terms with the Premiership new boys – but now must return to Saints and their Championship campaign.
Doctoroncall Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 From a sky report: Queens Park Rangers are hopeful they have successfully concluded the signing of Jason Puncheon. A deal for the Southampton winger was agreed late on by QPR on Wednesday, who were busy concluding a host of deals. Puncheon did, though, put pen to paper for Rangers and the deal was lodged with the Premier League. The club are now waiting for official confirmation that the deal was finalised before the 11pm deadline.
Saint_clark Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 The loan window opens again not long from now, you'll just sign him then instead.
stevegrant Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Missed the deadline by 2 minutes, according to a local paper: http://bit.ly/qnMt6A
Matthew Le God Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 The loan window opens again not long from now, you'll just sign him then instead. They can't. The loan window isn't for Premier League clubs to bring in players, only Football League clubs.
sambosa75 Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Prem clubs can't take advantage of the load window.
Pancake Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Well, Im not buying that. 2 mins? ********. If it really was 120 seconds late, then the FA would have OKed it. QPR being bull****ters.
Saints foreva Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 The loan window opens again not long from now, you'll just sign him then instead. Premier League clubs cannot sign him. Seems like Puncheon had a loan move to Leeds fall through too. SG tells me Jason Puncheon had agreed to join #LUFC and had 2 other deals done at lunch then Leihaj got injured in res game,v open interview
Saint_clark Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 They can't. The loan window isn't for Premier League clubs to bring in players, only Football League clubs. Ah yes
Saint_clark Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Well, Im not buying that. 2 mins? ********. If it really was 120 seconds late, then the FA would have OKed it. QPR being bull****ters. Agree with this as well. "Protracted negotiations" - just having another little dig at us.
Window Cleaner Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Missed the deadline by 2 minutes, according to a local paper: http://bit.ly/qnMt6A what a cock up,a player who've we wanted to be rid of for a long time and we're still quibling over the small print right up to cut-off time. Pathetic, absolutely pathetic, we don't want him so why haggle over a couple of bob. Typical Italian maniacal behaviour about having the very last word, and I've usually no axe to grind with Cortese.
Raging Bull Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 As much as I'd love to get rid of the bloke (and he did have a look of desperation about him last night), that is actually quite amusing. Wonder how much more they were about to pay him
Chez Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Premier League clubs cannot sign him. Seems like Puncheon had a loan move to Leeds fall through too. SG tells me Jason Puncheon had agreed to join #LUFC and had 2 other deals done at lunch then Leihaj got injured in res game,v open interview Leeds could now step in, although being knocked back in favour of QPR will have put Bates' back up.
Saint_lambden Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 The look on his face when he found out would have been f*cking hilarious. I do want rid of him, mind.
Matthew Le God Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 what a cock up,a player who've we wanted to be rid of for a long time and we're still quibling over the small print right up to cut-off time. Why are you criticising Cortese when you have no idea what went on?
Turkish Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 "protracted negotiations with Southampton" There's a surprise. We cant even sell a player properly. FFS.
North Wilts Saint Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Leeds could now step in, although being knocked back in favour of QPR will have put Bates' back up. And is it not that they could only sign him for 93 days, as now an "emergency" loan as outside of window?
Doctoroncall Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 It would be interesting to see when QPR received the info from Saints. I know QPR were involved in a few late deals so maybe Saints held up their end of the deal, if not someone deserves a bashing for it.
derry Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 It was shown on Sky, Puncheon entering QPR offices about 2130, well before the window closed at 2300. Surely he couldn't have even been there unless a fee had already been agreed/permission given by Saints.
S-Clarke Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 arrrrgh! I bet you any money that Blackpool come in with a bid to take him on loan next week.
Jez Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Missed the deadline by 2 minutes, according to a local paper: http://bit.ly/qnMt6A That says it is a loan deal. So surely it can still be concluded though? Or was the deadline for Prem teams related to all permanent and loan deals?
Window Cleaner Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Why are you criticising Cortese when you have no idea what went on? because I recognise a behaviour pattern here ??
Colinjb Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 "protracted negotiations with Southampton" There's a surprise. We cant even sell a player properly. FFS. Excuses from QPR I would suspect. An easy target to pin blame on especially given Warnock's comments about our negotiations for Gorkss.
