Matthew Le God Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 (edited) because I recognise a behaviour pattern here ?? A "behaviour pattern" that is also based on rumour and speculation, is it not? Which other deal do you know 100% went the way you think the Puncheon one did? For all you know QPR could have been offering a very low future fee or initial loan fee, it is only right therefore that Cortese would try to raise it. In any case, we just don't know what went on in any of the rumoured deals Saints have been involved in other the last 2 years and it would be foolish to apportion blame without good evidence either way. Edited 1 September, 2011 by Matthew Le God
Window Cleaner Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 That says it is a loan deal. So surely it can still be concluded though? Or was the deadline for Prem teams related to all permanent and loan deals? loans for the prem are now done and dusted until Jan 1, they can loan out but not in.
Turkish Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Excuses from QPR I would suspect. An easy target to pin blame on especially given Warnock's comments about our negotiations for Gorkss. Probably. It's never our fault. In Cortese we trust.
Big Bad Bob Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 what a cock up,a player who've we wanted to be rid of for a long time and we're still quibling over the small print right up to cut-off time. Pathetic, absolutely pathetic, we don't want him so why haggle over a couple of bob. Typical Italian maniacal behaviour about having the very last word, and I've usually no axe to grind with Cortese. And how the **** do you know that QPR didn't want us to continue paying his wages or something like that..... And QPR have had just as long to get the deal sorted out, *THEY* didn't have to leave it to the last minute.
Window Cleaner Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 A behaviour pattern that is also based on rumour and speculation? rather on 30 odd years of dealing with Italians (and the Italo-Swiss before you correct me)

Might have been Puncheon himself that put the kibosh on this by holding out for the QPR move that didn't come till last minute.
Matthew Le God Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 (edited) rather on 30 odd years of dealing with Italians (and the Italo-Swiss before you correct me) Ah...so now you are making sweeping generalisations on Cortese's business methods based solely on his nationality? I don't like where this is going! Edited 1 September, 2011 by Matthew Le God
Window Cleaner Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Might have been Puncheon himself that put the kibosh on this by holding out for the QPR move that didn't come till last minute. could be that, but given the moves coming our way that are said to have broken down at various stages of the process I'd rather think not.
badgerx16 Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 It was Ian Evatt That's the talk around here.
alpine_saint Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Dont give a sh*t whose fault it is. He's still here He's still a drain on our wage expenses
dubai_phil Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 hehehe Do I detect signs of a bicth slap for Warnock here? lol
SuperSAINT Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 What a carry on. (Bet Nicola is secretly happy he's screwed Warnock over though!)
suewhistle Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Probably. It's never our fault. Or always our fault. In your opinion..
Greenridge Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 I blame the use of the 'fax', it's the 21st century.
dubai_phil Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Or always our fault. In your opinion.. Sue you are not allowed to have any opinion if it differs from.......
skintsaint Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Im still amazed everything is done by fax still.
Bailey Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 SSN reporter Graeme Bailey reporting that Puncheon's move HAS been given the green light from the powers that be.
S-Clarke Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 SSN reporter Graeme Bailey reporting that Puncheon's move HAS been given the green light from the powers that be. nice!! at last...
Greenridge Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 SSN reporter Graeme Bailey reporting that Puncheon's move HAS been given the green light from the powers that be. I'm sure that dispensation will be given for a couple of minutes due to the level of activity. Turkish can then make a full and frank apology to Nicola!
S-Clarke Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Yep, it's now confirmed on the OS. Out of favour winger Jason Puncheon has joined Queens Park Rangers on loan until January. The move is pending Premier League approval, but once complete will see the former MK Dons man remain with Rangers until 2nd January. Puncheon spent part of last season loan at Blackpool, and has not featured in any game for Saints so far this term.
Um Bongo Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Just confirmed on SSN. Joined QPR on loan.
Benj Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 what a cock up,a player who've we wanted to be rid of for a long time and we're still quibling over the small print right up to cut-off time. Pathetic, absolutely pathetic, we don't want him so why haggle over a couple of bob. Typical Italian maniacal behaviour about having the very last word, and I've usually no axe to grind with Cortese. Don't you look like a bit a of a racist idiot now! Going to apologise?
Nutwood2 Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Now is the time to keep him and turn him into something useful for us. Nige has done a great job at humbling him. Now I think is the time to say, 'Punch, do you want to achieve with a great club or play for Bournemouth or Pompey for the rest of your career? It's up to you son!
Pancake Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Sibley tweeting that Jason has joined QPR, subject to PL approval.
Big Bad Bob Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 @Jordansibley Despite reports stating otherwise, Jason Puncheon has joined QPR on loan until 2nd January - subject to PL approval. #saintsfc Just now
Pancake Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Im still amazed everything is done by fax still. IIRC, it's something to do with the need for a signature - so it has to be a letter or a fax, an email wont do. same for Transfer Requests I believe.
JRM Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 @Jordansibley Despite reports stating otherwise, Jason Puncheon has joined QPR on loan until 2nd January - subject to PL approval. #saintsfc Just now thank God for that!!! for the sake of 2 mins you would have thought the FA would just allow it.
skintsaint Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 IIRC, it's something to do with the need for a signature - so it has to be a letter or a fax, an email wont do. same for Transfer Requests I believe. surely you can scan on a photocopier and it emails it through at the same time...most offices i worked in could do this. Maybe QPR havent got email...
S-Clarke Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 This all happened very late in the day so I am very pleased we got him in. "Jason is a good acquisition because he brings pace and plenty of desire. "To be perfectly honest, he was so keen to come to QPR I think he would have paid us! "He is desperate to do well, and that really impressed me." Give it 6-12 months Neil, and he'll want out again. Not really sure how much playing time he'll get, with them signing SWP.
Doctoroncall Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 The deal still needs PL approval. So the fat lady isn't on stage yet.
Highfield Saint Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 PL given approval. On Sky Sports web site now. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,,11711_7142422,00.html
Big Bad Bob Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 The deal still needs PL approval. So the fat lady isn't on stage yet. http://www.qpr.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~2438688,00.html I think she has finished her aria and is quaffing champagne....
SuperSAINT Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Useful for them, because I suppose he can play on the left wing for them. My QPR supporting mate thinks they moved late for him due to missing out on another target. Did laugh at the footage of him running into QPR though. He did look keen!
JRM Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Warnock revealed Puncheon was so keen to move he thinks he would have paid them instead of the other way round. Just a shame i reckon he'll be back in Jan and we haven't got any money for him.
Doctoroncall Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 IIRC, it's something to do with the need for a signature - so it has to be a letter or a fax, an email wont do. same for Transfer Requests I believe. It might be due to the FA wanting a 'wet' signature as its the easiest for them plus they seem to be behind the times. There are perfectly good ways to sign electronically around in the world - chip and pin counts for your signature in credit/debit card transactions for example.
Big Bad Bob Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Warnock revealed Puncheon was so keen to move he thinks he would have paid them instead of the other way round. Just a shame i reckon he'll be back in Jan and we haven't got any money for him. Ach, his wages are off of our books now and don't we get a loan arrangement fee too...another stealth Cortese tax ;)
Greenridge Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 There's normally a loan fee involved in addition to some part share in the wages as well as having an apparently disruptive influence off our hands. If he performs in the period up to January then who's to say it won't become a permanent transfer.
dune Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Yet another example of our bungling chairman c/cking things up. It's embarrassing, but also funny as f/ck.
Matthew Le God Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Yet another example of our bungling chairman c/cking things up. It's embarrassing, but also funny as f/ck. I think you need to do a little reading of the QPR or Saints website. Puncheon has left on loan.
Saint Garrett Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Was listening to Talksport last night and they mentioned Faxes. One of the guys said that every single deal has to be done by faxes. If its not done by a fax it is not legitimate. Both the clubs and the player have to sign it.
Greenridge Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Yet another example of our bungling chairman c/cking things up. It's embarrassing, but also funny as f/ck. Oh dear.
Whitey Grandad Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Useful for them, because I suppose he can play on the left wing for them. My QPR supporting mate thinks they moved late for him due to missing out on another target. Did laugh at the footage of him running into QPR though. He did look keen! Our Jason running? Surely not?
Sour Mash Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 I think you need to do a little reading of the QPR or Saints website. Puncheon has left on loan. Exactly- so we don't get the £1 million or whatever it might have been if the permanent deal had gone through.
Doctoroncall Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 http://www.qpr.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~2438688,00.html I think she has finished her aria and is quaffing champagne.... Oh good. Wrong time to nip out for a break.
Big Bad Bob Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Oh good. Wrong time to nip out for a break. You should quit the cigarettes, not good for your long term health......
dune Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Exactly- so we don't get the £1 million or whatever it might have been if the permanent deal had gone through. This was Nicolinas cunning plan obviously. Puncheon is sure to impress with his skill, work rate and attitude and we will sell him for 10 times as much in January.
Turkish Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Premier league clubs loaning players from championship should be banned. It's a joke.
Wopper Posted 1 September, 2011 Posted 1 September, 2011 Let the idiot put in a transfer request why should we pay up his contract.
