Your expectations now for this season?

Interesting piece on this in the Echo.Only 1 other side in the last 15 years has obtained automatic promotion after being outside the play-off places at Xmas.Looked it up. In 2008/9 Peterborough had 37 points from 21 games and finished with 89 at the end.At that time the second placed side already had 43 points (MK Dons) and finished on 87 for 3rd place. So if we now mirrored Posh's second part of the season we'd finish on 84 points. Good enough for automatic?? who could say.

Target has to be champions but there shouldn't be any toys thrown out the pram if promotion isn't achieved this year.

Adkins obviously has the ability to get teams promoted, it would be wise to give him time to build a team.

This. NA hasn't had a transfer window to improve the team so let's who, if anyone he wants to bring in, and if he's given the backing to do so.

yep, sacked Nicholl and appointed Branfoot for no ostensible reason,up till then we'd had 3 managers in 30 odd years and then

the revolving door started. Probably something to do with the changing face of football though.

Chris Nicholl was a good manager. Branfoot represented a change in the clubs fortunes as the rearguard action to stay in the top league started. We were successful until WGS left and then the fatal error in 2004 of our failure to appoint Hoddle led to our demise.

Spot on, I don't really want promotion. I quite like being in div 3 and talking about what we'll do in the prem rather than actually being in it. I hope Adkins is given the chance to build countless teams to get us out of this division whilst we can concentrate on what our training facilities, youth team and ground capacity will be like.

My expectation is now to finish somewhere between 5th and 8th. I think we might just end up sneaking into the playoffs but I'm not sure we'd win them! Hopefully Sunday/Tuesday will kick start our season and from then RL will score 30 goals and this post will be sent to the "talking rubbish" bin!

Please will you tell me who on earth this "Hoddle" person is. You keep on and on about him but I cannot

recall any successful manager with that name. I have even tried something called "Google" with no real

result apart from some bloke who used to be an average player quite some time ago, is this who you talk

about?.
