Saint_John Posted 23 December, 2010 Posted 23 December, 2010 It doesn't say that. It simply states that the next review of the situation is tomorrow morning. A pitch inspection is far more specific. I think it will be fine. But the Football League site says there is a Pitch Inspection at 10:00. http://www.football-league.co.uk/latestnews/20101222/weather-watch_2245681_2248867 Pitch inspections planned Charlton Athletic v Southampton - FRIDAY 10am Dagenham & Redbridge v Brighton & Hove Albion - FRIDAY 12 noon Yeovil Town v Brentford - FRIDAY 12 noon With a link to the procedures http://www.football-league.co.uk/page/FLExplainedDetail/0,,10794~1519997,00.html
Window Cleaner Posted 23 December, 2010 Posted 23 December, 2010 According to some sort of twitter feed that I came across Barney is still out,Chaplow and Richardson are last minute decisions (although Richardson was at training and Chaplow didn't seem to be) and Rickie has recovered from his dead leg. Fonte back so Seaborne probably left out. Make of it what you will.
Leicestersaint Posted 23 December, 2010 Posted 23 December, 2010 We need to get the show back on the road.

benjii Posted 23 December, 2010 Posted 23 December, 2010 Presumably some of you ****ers reckon Christmas Day is Monday?
Gemmel Posted 23 December, 2010 Posted 23 December, 2010 Presumably some of you ****ers reckon Christmas Day is Monday? :) :)
dannysfc Posted 23 December, 2010 Posted 23 December, 2010 I am starting to wonder whether this game will be on now as I have missed the football for the past few weeks sooo it would be Good to play again! Although I wouldn't mind a midweek London game as well if it gets called off Tbh but we will see !
lambertsrightleg Posted 24 December, 2010 Posted 24 December, 2010 reading a few charlton forums they are very confident that the game will be on. The majority of the snow and ice has been cleared and it just seems up to the surrounding areas. As the local council have agreed to grit the area around the valley it looks like we're onto a winner!!!
JRM Posted 24 December, 2010 Posted 24 December, 2010 If the game is off it will be a disgrace, seriously it really isn't that bad at all up here, the sun is out today and as long as they grit the stairways it will be fine.
silversaint Posted 24 December, 2010 Posted 24 December, 2010 Ed Chamberlain has just tweeted that the ref has no problems whatsoever with the pitch ahead of Sundays game. Coyr.

Pennyred Posted 24 December, 2010 Posted 24 December, 2010 The ticket office is open til 4pm - and Cortese on hol for a month - how the other half live?
Window Cleaner Posted 24 December, 2010 Posted 24 December, 2010 and Cortese on hol for a month - how the other half live? Surely not entirely absent for a month though?? Transfers to negociate and all that surely.
kpturner Posted 24 December, 2010 Posted 24 December, 2010 Shame the game is going ahead - I could do without having my Boxing Day ruined.
Saint dyer Posted 24 December, 2010 Posted 24 December, 2010 anyone know if barney is fit/available? weve really missed him!
Window Cleaner Posted 24 December, 2010 Posted 24 December, 2010 anyone know if barney is fit/available? weve really missed him! who knows, Barney seems to be shrouded in secrecy of late. StScottoftheNortham tells us he had more surgery on his hand last Tuesday, maybe why he doesn't appear in any of the build up videos. I thought his hand was supposed to be healing up nicely, could be just cosmetic stuff though I guess.
sandwichsaint Posted 24 December, 2010 Posted 24 December, 2010 does anybody have one spare ticket in away end? we already have 4 but there are now 5 of us going, we gonna be drawing straws for somebody to go in the home fans otherwise! pm me if you can help, we will be in the anti-g from about 11-30 onwards or we can meet on turnstiles, thanks.
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 24 December, 2010 Posted 24 December, 2010 A friend went to SMS today to get our tickets and was told we couldn't get them today but could buy them on the gate.
saintwiz Posted 24 December, 2010 Posted 24 December, 2010 A draw here would be a good result. A loss would be very harmful.
scott_saints Posted 24 December, 2010 Posted 24 December, 2010 A draw here would be a good result. A loss would be very harmful. I see you've got the hang of this football malarky then.

Matthew Le God Posted 24 December, 2010 Posted 24 December, 2010 Wth the games off elsewhere we could go 4th if we win - COYRSSSS!!!! Can't get higher than 5th on Sunday.
buctootim Posted 24 December, 2010 Posted 24 December, 2010 I see you've got the hang of this football malarky then. Dave Merrington has been coaching him.
sfc4prem Posted 24 December, 2010 Posted 24 December, 2010 Let's push on up the table lads. Only 5 points from second, that's easy. This will be the start of a great run of form that'll see us surge to the top. Mark my words.

Kingsbridge Saint Posted 26 December, 2010 Posted 26 December, 2010 C'mon Lads - two tough games. No ****ing around, time to make up lost ground. 6 points please and put a smile back on our faces.
stanthemanfairoak Posted 26 December, 2010 Posted 26 December, 2010 hows the weather looking looks alright from here
twopintsnilnil Posted 26 December, 2010 Posted 26 December, 2010 No new snow in south London, but it is incredibly cold. I'm amazed they've been able to get all the frost out of the pitch given that it's barely got above freezing for 2 weeks. Good luck everyone!
Bromley Saint Posted 26 December, 2010 Posted 26 December, 2010 The Crystal Palace match (not too far away from Charlton) has just been called off.
silversaint Posted 26 December, 2010 Posted 26 December, 2010 Is there another inspection this morning?
for_heaven's_Saint Posted 26 December, 2010 Posted 26 December, 2010 Is there another inspection this morning? Was wondering the same. On the way now, would like an update if anyone knows anything!
VectisSaint Posted 26 December, 2010 Posted 26 December, 2010 The Crystal Palace match (not too far away from Charlton) has just been called off. Gives Burley a few more days before he gets the boot.
Colinjb Posted 26 December, 2010 Posted 26 December, 2010 Only 3 league 1 games left now. Just two now. Huddersfield and ourselves. And considering the weather in Yorkshire when I left this morning, I can't see the Galpharm being playable.
silversaint Posted 26 December, 2010 Posted 26 December, 2010 So does anyone know whether we're due another inspection or what's going on?
ericofarabia Posted 26 December, 2010 Posted 26 December, 2010 Don't suppose it will come to anything but just stumble over this link claiming to be showing live streaming of the match. http://football-manager-blog.blogspot.com/2010/12/watch-charlton-athletic-vs-southampton.html A bit nervous about opening any links and the pigeon English always puts me off!! Can't see it advertised on Justin TV ? Iraqi Goals etc.
Window Cleaner Posted 26 December, 2010 Posted 26 December, 2010 (edited) Pitch inspection 11:30 since when has D'Urso been the ref for this game?? Thought it was another name. Crossley?? http://www.cafctv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10267~2251573,00.html Edited 26 December, 2010 by Window Cleaner
Colinjb Posted 26 December, 2010 Posted 26 December, 2010 Pitch inspection 11:30 That'll be that then.
Window Cleaner Posted 26 December, 2010 Posted 26 December, 2010 That'll be that then. Probably, another lost game day. Still if it's off I won't lose my ticket money.Couldn't travel, snowed in,no flights anyway.
