Dr Who? Posted 19 December, 2010 Share Posted 19 December, 2010 What do you think has been the best film of 2010. It does not have to be an A listed film, but just something that came out in 2010 that maybe something that you think is worth a watch. I have to go with something from the Cinema and go for Inception, I only went to watch it as my wife was out for the day with the kids so I thought I would go to the Cinema and watch The A Team, but it was not on for ages and I heard a couple of people walk past the cinema saying 'I must go and see Inception, as I have heard it is really good'. I looked at the time and it was just going to start. This was the best film to stumble upon!
Turkish Posted 19 December, 2010 Share Posted 19 December, 2010 I watched Inception last night, not really one to buy into all the 'this is a blockbuster' hype, but it was absolutely brilliant.
Saint_Jonny Posted 19 December, 2010 Share Posted 19 December, 2010 I would have said Inception, but I saw a film on Friday night that blew it away, TRON: Legacy. Obviously its a film that wont please everyone, but being a fan of the first TRON movie, the sequel was everything I wanted it to be and 10x more. Absolutely fantastic. Deppo Posted 19 December, 2010 Share Posted 19 December, 2010 Inception was probably the only film I saw at the cinema this year, but, to be honest, I couldn't wait for it to end.
RonManager Posted 19 December, 2010 Share Posted 19 December, 2010 I watched 2 films at the kinema this year, Avatar (for the 3D) and Alice in Wonderland (not just for the 3D). I've checked, and yes, it was the only film released this year that I have seen. My film of the year then.
LVSaint Posted 19 December, 2010 Share Posted 19 December, 2010 I expect it'll be True Grit when it comes out in a few days. Been a fairly disappointing year. Up till now, Inception I suppose.
Appy Posted 19 December, 2010 Share Posted 19 December, 2010 Toy Story
Sheaf Saint Posted 19 December, 2010 Share Posted 19 December, 2010 I expect it'll be True Grit when it comes out in a few days. Really looking forward to this release. I'm a massive fan of the Coen Brothers' work - they have never made a bad film IMO - so it will be interesting to see how they handle a re-make of a true classic. SuperMikey Posted 19 December, 2010 Share Posted 19 December, 2010 Probably Inception for me as well, although I think i've been to see 2, maybe 3 films this year.

dubai_phil Posted 22 December, 2010 Share Posted 22 December, 2010 (edited) Watched Inception last night. Yep it wins. Very unsure about True Grit, that was a classic and a great memory, perhaps without Glenn Campbell Big John would have got his Oscar for that. (even though he really just played himself) (Oops just found a You tube of him winning the Oscar for it) Why did I think he didn't? ho hum Hope the new movie does it justice And have spent the past 20 minutes trying to explain why it was such a great film to the GF Give us a review LVS Edited 22 December, 2010 by dubai_phil

I saw a recent interview with one of the Coens about it and he said their approach to it was as a different interpretation of the book, rather than as a re-make of the film.
