Interesting stuff. I've seen wallets advertised on firebox.com that protect from these scanners.

Scary stuff. I read a report in the paper the other day that said that, by 2013, sex offenders will be able to electronically rape people.

But it cannot read the security code printed on the back, nor can it read your mind to get the PIN number, which should still be required for PayPass payments of over £10, or the 3D security code that MasterCard have introduced for online payments..

It may be a real threat but that news item sounds more like an ad for the company selling those little wallets.
